I figured it would not be long before some hopped onto a 'pedastal' regarding smoking and health, it's this simple, you don't smoke, good, you will live longer than me, end of.
You may be (o burn), but 'it' is not that simple. I was referring to the insidious methods employed by tobacco companies to market their product, i.e. in 'a fashion that may encourage tens or hundreds of thousands of young people to see cigarettes as a normal, everyday consumable rather than ['a delivery device for...' (i guess i should have added)] an extremely addictive & deadly poison'. The New Vegas simulation does not come with a clear health warning, and (...radioactive wasteland aside) I haven't seen any NPCs with emphysema or throat cancer. If there was a warning at the start that said "you don't smoke, good, you will live longer than me" (or words to that effect), then that would indeed be the end of (it).
Weren't cigarettes some sort of luxury back before pre-war times?
"Some sort of luxury" - love it, well put. Some people have more dollars than sense (myself included).
