And for those wondering if it's weird they like the natural smell of the opposite six (or same six, depending of your natural attraction  ) it's far from weird! It's totally natural --primal-- but necessary. Humans don't rely so much on smell, but it contains loads of basic information only our instinct can understand.
Oh, very true. I unashamedly love the smell of fresh sweat on a man.
Stale sweat is gross, though!
Asking whether cologne is bad is like asking whether clothes are bad - you just have to find one that suits, though of course you can "go naked"
sans perfume/cologne without raising any eyebrows.
Cologne won't mask BO - you need good personal hygiene and a decent deodorant for that. If the deodorant is strongly perfumed, it's best not to wear any other scent with that or else they'll clash. Most men I know wear a matching range, e.g. Lynx anti-perspirant and aftershave from those little stocking-filler gift sets they got for Christmas the previous year. Lynx is cheap, but it smells faintly of chocolate, which is why women like it.
Because it's a lot more expensive, I tend to associate cologne and perfume with people in the 35+ age range. Better to go without than buy something cheap and nasty -
cheap perfume is way worse than no perfume. I very rarely buy perfume because I have to be really sure that the scent suits me before I shell out - though I did get a sweet deal a while back on a rare import bottle of Flower Princess by Vera Wang, which is a lot like J'adore by Dior but comes in a cuter bottle. A light floral like that is something people wouldn't really be conscious of, which is the idea. You're wearing perfume right if people don't realise that you're wearing perfume.
That said, I have been known to hug someone and think, "Wow, you smell really great!" and wonder what cologne they are wearing - though I usually assume it's something obscure and hideously expensive.
