Hello MrBigglesworth.

I stopped reading when you said graphics are composed of artstyle and the technology that drives it which is incorrect. You're one of the many people who think aesthetics and graphics are the same thing.

What's inaccurate about that? Graphics can be anolyzed from an art direction perspective or a purely technical viewpoint.

Gameplay > Graphics.

But gameplay doesn't have to be compromised for increased graphics quality. How is this post relevant?

EDIT: To the above, as I said in the post you quoted aesthetics are not graphics. Art style/direction is aesthetics related, not graphics related. A game can have a good aesthetic with poor graphics and vise versa.

Skyrim has good aesthetics (in my opinion) and average graphics due to the poor draw distances, certain textures and bleh shadows. On the flip side Battlefield 3 has good graphics and very bad aesthetics due to the blue tint, way too much lense flare and contrast turned up to 11.

With all of Skyrim's problems, the graphics aren't one of them.

PC version has mods were you can upgrade the textures by 100x so quit complaining.
Remember that Skyrim is a Xbox 360 created game that is ported to PS3 and PC; this is the same as Oblvion and that may not be ideal, but that is just how it is.

HI JagarTharn12. How have you been since our recent encounter?
Why on Earth would you attribute the OP to an uncontrolled need to bash? I happen to think SKyrim's graphics are quite good. But I can see why sme would fault them, for there is a lot of room for improvement. Textures are problematic but there is one issue I seldom see mentioned: pop ups. I have a high end PC and things, bridges, textures, trees, grass details, just keep poping out of nowhere in a quite blunt fashion. Lighting, while adequate, is somewhat subpar. All in all, Art direction is where the game shines and graphics wise Skyrim is quite good, not quite great.
I can't recall it :(

I dunno, I guess I felt a bit like this wasn't serious or grasping at straws due to the repeated comparisons to seman and the "subtle" title. The Performance paragraph is pointless without his system specs also his comment on the trees was a bit of a stretch.

I was probably a bit harsh, but it seems an odd thing to criticise.

...to the repeated comparisons to seman and the "subtle" title...

Those parts in the original post made me lose any respect in the poster as it shows a serious lack of maturity and just shows someone complaining for the sake of complaining. As well as the egotistical bit by saying "as I play on the greatest system" also degrades and real sense of purpose in the topic as the system is just matter of opinion. Even with all of the mods on PC, I still prefer 360.

Hi again!

The things with dynamic snow is that it only "spaws" on predeterminated areas but it's effects can easily been seen. It's kinda hard to explain but if skyrim seasons this would happen(1:45): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGIgXeGC6Dg

The snow is placed on 3d objects as if snow had fallen on it.

I know what dynamic snow is supposed to be. I have yet to notice its effects. To my eyes, surface textures don't seem to changee, even if the surface gets snowed on for in-game hours after in-game hours. Is there a timeline video that shows its effects?

I'm happy with the graphics in Skyrim. I figure from the number of mods that improve the graphics that it can be improved on, and that many people want them, which is fine for them. I prefer to save my computer space for mods that do other things.

They don't change at all but the snow texture on 3d objects isn't placed by hand.

In my opinion Oblivion has better graphics, but skyrim has more detail put in. how the hair is in skyrim is terrible.

Once you've complained about every other [censored] thing in the game, what's left?
If not graphics, hey! I know...

I shall start a thread: "Why I think Bethesda should have made the Jarl of Whiterun's eyes a different colour and this has ruined the game for me."
Because [censored] you everything and why not. :D

So, are you unhappy with Vanilla Skyrim or unhappy with the fact that you are seemingly forced to use mods?

If you use mods to make the game look better, them why is there even an issue?

You have to understand, finding problems in games is very important. If you don't venomously complain about something online you look like a devoted fan, which is terrible for one's virtual identity.

Hmmmm, they changed one of the words I used.
Test:

fan boy
really devoted fan
fan boi

No. If you depict criticism as void and gratuitous it becomes easy to dismiss without you ever having to counter the points, doesn’t it? Except that it isn't void and gratuitous, not to my eyes and not in this case. Frankly speaking, the OP is much more substantial than your reply, which appears to be a simple knee jerk reaction, since you did not address any of his points, or any points for that matter. You think Skyrim graphics are flawless? Well, that’s great. Back on topic, I remember when I still wasn't a forum member but browsed there was a very knowledgeable poster, whose name I’ve since forgotten, whom in a very detailed fashion listed Skyrim’s graphical shortcomings. Maybe someone from that long gone Era could revive his posts on the matter.

Ah, I see. Then it's not really dynamic, is it? I mean, it's dynamic through out cloned objects, but not on the same object.
