Dawnguard Beta Discussion - Thread #7

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:36 am

I think the beta key is random just think of how many people registered for it. First they are going to pick addicts no offense Jaja. Then forum users .then people who applied for beta without much experience with forums just to spread the word about skyrim ~.~ then the lucky few who just felt like applying
No. Its based on diversity. They'll be looking for A.) Good Specs within a certain minimum. B.) A active Xbox Live account. C.) Good play time again, within a minimum. D.) A certain amount of people, for each Style along with Race(beast/non-beast) and gender.

Also who else got a bit disappointed with the mounted combat? I'm a bit upset that you can only attack on the right side and there is a limit to how far to either side you can turn with an arrow. It makes targets that run up to you difficult to fight.
Sorry for double post but, why is this here? And you can attack on both sides. Press the 'LT' button to attack on the left side.

They better pick me, I've dealt with nothing but glitches in Skyrim and they want me to "buy" an add-on for a game that isn't even finished? Ah, whatever, rather that than Blops 2...

Really? I tried that. It didnt seem to work, but didn't mess with it that long though. Desire the downs its still cool that they made horses way better of an investment then before. I wish you could use at least destruction spells too! Drive by flame spell!!! Haha

I feel like it would have to be soon, since Bethesda would need sometime for feedback, and time to edit anything that was wrong with the beta before June 26th.
After all, isn't that what a beta is for? :/

I truly believe it will be as early as possible. "next week" begins tomorrow... But bethesda is known for not doing much on weekends.

I think there will be a large population of the forum that wakes up to a pleasant surprise monday morning.

It makes me wonder since its so close that maybe they will release it the same as the beta and then use our feedback to make an update soon after. Cuz if they don't release the beta this week then they might not have enough time. They are technically already in crunch time. But it's Bethesda!!! They know what they are doing! They have always made amazing games and they are the ones that got me into this genre of games. So let's put our faith in them!

LOL

I just got an email from Gstaff and about crapped myself, thinking I had gotten what I had been waiting for.

Turns out it was just answering a question I had during E3. :)

Checking will just get you too hyped up and if you don't get in you have a bigger letdown.

Im so ready to continue with my on-deck new main character of which i have 3. But im not sure which one to take off with! So many decisions so little time! What to do? Lvl 11 dark elf Vampire just chilln in Whiterun waiting for the family reunion. Next we have a lvl. 31 Imperial battlemage chillin by an opium campfire chatting with a herd of mammoths and their "peace, love and smoke" giant sheperds. And last we have the newbie, a lvl 4 Khajiit reeking havok straight out of the gate, damn horse thief, chillin in the Ratway sippin skooma plotting the next step toward total chaos in Skyrim. Decisions, decisions, decisions any way cant wait for Dawnguard still hopeing for a tardy beta key but not gonna cry if i dont get one at least i will know that the DLC version i purchase on the 26th will be glitchless. But that doesnt mean that I wouldnt participate and be informative on the forums if i did receive it.

Although I have a good feeling I won't be pick I do hope they pick a lot of people because I bet a large portion of the picked people will only use this as a fee DLC pass.

Wait, so do you get a confirmation in your email that your application went through after you sign up? Saw some people discussing that earlier in the thread.

Sadly alot of people will be doing this several of us myself included will be really testing the game and reporting bugs and glitches/texure pop ups, ect. I find myself hardly thinking of it as "getting DLC for free or playing early" instead thinking of it being as a "beta" if that makes sense

So does anyone know how many peoe are actually on the forums ? and maybe what percent signed up? I'd like to know my chances*. I also recommend not telling anyone about the beta, to heighten our chances*. Kinda dirty, I know* lol :$

You can attack on the left side. On Xbox, RT hits right side and LT hits the left side. Don't know about PC controls though.
