Dawnguard Gameinformer details #3

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 1:31 am

in the picture with the perk tree, if you read above it it says...

Spoiler

Townspeople will attack the vampire lord on sight, but will no longer attack you if your a "regular" vampire.

Also i noticed it says his RACE is Vampire Lord. Does this mean we can only assign perks to that catagory when transformed into a Vampire Lord (Same would go for werewolves.)

O' also i noticed there are way more then 3 perks, he just has 3 unlocked, which makes them brigther. I counted maybe 9 perks.

Chin (1)

Ears (4)

Cheeks (2)

Forhead (2)

1+4=5+2=7+2=9

Is it safe to assume that one of the perks for Lycanthropy will be to stay in beast for for a much longer period of time? I'd like it to be as long as possible.

i'm going to guess that when you first transform you'll have a an average for 7minutes real time, then by feeding you get and extra 9 minutes, once you get to 10 feeds you get and extra 13 minutes. Just a guess?

Interesting information. Thanks to whomever originally posted it! I wonder though if this is all the information that they intended to disclose at E3. The main thing I still want to know is if there will be a new area on the map. In fact, if I learn the answer to that, I'll probably stop reading about the DLC.

Still doesn't have the words I wanted to hear : "more spell tomes".

I am assuming the new perk trees can be adding to characters you have already maxed, can't see a problem if they only apply while in the relevant form, and with the new method of gaining them. Not that it matters to me, all this vampire stuff just means more enemies for my character.

Looking at the scans (they're gone now, sorry) the dawnguard have a very medieval knight look to them. Which I think is awesome because I've wanted some simple looking yet effective armour in Skyrim. Although I might look out of place.

Well, by my reckoning:
More shouts = more word walls
More word walls = more nordic barrows
More nordic barrows = more land
Also, the fact that there's two huge new castles, and prolly lots of new dungeons as well. And there's the Soul Cairn.

You could also get the shouts by other means, we don't know about yet.

Yeah, that soul shout sounds worse than dragonrend, and look at Paarthunax's take on that. Couldn't find that one on a wall. Maybe the big bad has the voice, and can teach you.

Also, judging by their padded armour and crossbows, they're more advanced and technological than most of Skyrim. I think it's great. It shows that things have changed since the third era, despite most of Skyrim being a bit... backwards.

I'm pretty sure the walls were erected by men, not dova.

Yeah, I've already exausted the whole of Skyrim near enough, I might have to chill in the whole Dawnguard area if it provides a long enough challenge until the next DLC.

Oh, of course, same guys who became dragon priests and draugr, but there were some words the dragons couldn't (in the case of dragonrend where men 'invented' it) or wouldn't teach men.

No information on new daedra then?
Or just extra summons?
Or anything magic related?
Great vampire DLC, now I want DLC on Giants just because it is not something Skyrim needs.

After my initial disappointment, I'm now glad that it's first dlc that's vampire centric. It gets the vampire stuff out of the way, and I can look forward to the next dlc in peace, while the vampire fans have Dawnguard and no reason to complain about a lack of vampire content anymore. That's a huge relief.

I'm also looking forward to the new weapons and the Soul Cairn. No idea if that'll make the dlc worth buying of course, but joining Dawnguard doesn't sound half bad either.

My guess is that you'd have to cure yourself first. Vampirism is a disease afterall and werewolfs are immune to it, so it shouldn't be possible.

More spells is indeed like the ONLY thing missing from this DLC so far. Im impressed by the feature list...

... but the weakness of Skyrim's spell repertoire was the games biggest disapointment to me. Mods have improved things but I'd sure like a few new "Offiicial" spell lines.
