Dawnguard Gameinformer details #3

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 3:20 pm

I know that but will it work the same way the vamp tree does?..maybe probably?

I hope it will work that way
Yes, it works the same as the Vampire Lord tree.
You'll be able to change your gender? O.O Now I can finally be a transsixual Dragonborn Vampire Lord! AT LAST!
No. You can't change your gender. Just your face.
No information on new daedra then?
Or just extra summons?
Or anything magic related?
Great vampire DLC, now I want DLC on Giants just because it is not something Skyrim needs.
No one cares.
So...can I become a Vampire Lord if I'm already a Werewolf?
Nah you have to get cured.

Considering they're using a seperate update .esm, I'd say Dawnguard will have it's own .esm as well.
Yeah, makes sense. Moreover, there's going to be more expansions, which would create a total mess if they all had to be patched in.
Yes, it works the same as the Vampire Lord tree.
What bothers me about the vampire perk tree is that it seems to be locked to the special volkihar vampire type that you become in dawnguard. Maybe a skilled modder could retool it so it becomes useful for normal vampires as well...?

I wasn't too fussed about vampirism before, but this has swayed me. I want to be a kickass vamp now! :D

The fact is I can't see the Main Quest Dragonborn also being a Vampire Lord, so this whole "Playing the other side" thing seems kind of a dud to me. Sure you can try it out, but then you have to reload from way back or start a new character to do anything else in Skyrim. That's just kind of pointless.

I also don't like the fact that this DLC does not seem very "Skyrim" themed. It could have been added to any TES game. I would have liked something that incorporated the things that are going on in Skyrim. This DLC just smells of a Vamp Fan Boy fodder.

So it specifically mentions the Soul Carin and the Deadlands as where you'll be going?

No. The Deadlands are mentioned as an Oblivion reference. We will be going to the Soul Cairn.

Since we know about vampire and warewolf skilless perk trees do you think we can see this system expanded in the future..

Apart from the natural Dragonborn tree with improvements to shouts and based on dragon kills or words learned..

Perk trees look amazing, really happy they thought to make them bite/kill/attack perked rather than level-up perked, means higher level players don't have to create a new 'Werewolf' or 'Vampire' character, fantastic!

My Pro: No more forced good choices like killing Alduin and saving a pathetic Tamriel from interesting non everyday stuff!!!

On a serious note I like you can play as the bad guys.. I mean the Guilds are nice but this is its own DLC... FINALLY Death to mortals and Vampires shall Reign.... I really hope my Brothers and Sisters destroy the Sun...

I am a roleplayer so I love the idea of Vampires taking a stand and having an actual role.. I love you Vampires but I hate how we keep dying out...

Doesnt anyone love Vampires? I mean from the Vampire Lord look, I assume this is a Dracula cliche but still a good DLC. I like Vampires looking like actual demons rather than old people..

I've read that the required level is level 10. So the DLC isn't meant for 'fresh' characters but it's hardly a high level area.
what? level 10? and i have heard it will be for "high leveled" characters x)
But well..
Anyway i am confused about how to level up the vampire lord and werewolf skill. so you cant get higher skills of it? so you cant level up?
You get perks of feeding etc?

i wonder why they added a perk tree for a thing that you only get by a different faction in a dlc that has nothing to do with them?

this DLC keeps sounding better and better!

"You choose sides:fight alongside the dawnguard(vamp hunters) or join harkon."alot of unique content depending on which side you choose”." - Probably the thing I've gotten most excited about.

I assume you mean the werewolf tree?

Because a lot of people asked for it I guess, I'm happy for the fleabags, I may even make one myself to try out the new perks.

Yeah, that was the thing lacking in Skyrim, most the faction questlines were super short, i hunted down a single troll for Aela for the companions, and now they are doing the initiation already! Seriously way too quick.....

Dawnguard reminds me of the older Elder Scrolls' games. Has anyone made a poll to who they will choose for their siding? If so link me :o

I may be a Vampire and than switch to Vampire Hunter on my other profile. But Vampires have a few potiential bugs and glitches. I encountered one in SI on Oblivion.. add that to the buff restoration perk that makes them stronger(not sure if its a bug or just a useful perk). First thing Im going to do Beta or not is find how many bugs there are.. Has the glitch with becoming both Werewolf and Vampire been fixed yet? If not FIX IT!!!

Now Bethesda needs to add an option to change the name of your character.

Looks cool, but this doesn't look like $20 worth of material.

How in gods name can you tell from a minute and a half trailer!? THis looks like it has more meat to it than the entirety of skyrim!

Well to be honest I was judging by the leak of gameinformer, but its very possible there is more material in the dlc than the leak covered

I am sorry but didn't also Shivering Isles add a lot of new content , a new landmass for a lower price of 1200 vs 1600 of Dawnguard?

It was 30 dollars...Dawnguard is 20, and this is adding a large amount of content to the base skyrim game also...

Well actually I believe that shivering isles was $30, and alot of people complained about that, I think they lowered the prince later. I hope dawnguard drops to $10 one day, because I don't relish having to spend $40 for two dlcs when I can get another game for that like red dead redemption
