[RELz] Deadly Dragons

not just a healing spell, any spell. Conjuration would be a lot of fun, even if weak. besides, alteration spells could be used against other npcs since dragons are the most impopular creatures of skyrim wildlife, for immersion.

Summon Dremora Lord? :P but honestly, I don't know, I tend to play low-level for more challenge so I have not met the most powerful enemies :P

I can see this mod being essential when teh modding community is more established, well done guys!
I really want to play the remainder of my game hearing that dragon cry and going "oh sh*t" looking up and at the same tiem gonig to stealth mode. I want to have encounters where I only want to fight them near a town where I have lots of guards to help me!

Some advice I would love to give...
1. keep the focus of your mod on dragons; dont tweak other aspects of the game such as items and crafting; instead of making these other things optional plug-ins to your mod, have them a separate mod altogether. Not only will this make the mod less daunting to players to download ("do I really want all that, or jsut the making dragons ahrd bit?"), but it will help maintain a Mod Identity, image and give it a strong "brand".

2. As you may have read on the general forums, some people dislike how some NPCS's such as merchants die to normal dragon attacks, your mod will compound this issue by making them that more kick ass. It would be nice if you improved non-combat NPC AI to run and hide in the nearest building until the dragon dies and they all run out to watch you melt his skin!

3. In a certain quest the player can encounter an undead skeletal dragon, having these spawn in the outside world would be amazing, just walking around pwning the country; and if you can make them fly, even better! - few nice particle effects, blue or green would give them a very magical feel!

Keep up the good work guys: Dragons are the core pillar this game is founded on, and you are making that pillar stronger!

NPC's dying isn't something that can be realistically addressed without the Creation Kit at this point. There was a skeletal dragon at one point, and a significant number of users complained about it. Lastly, the mod is "focused" on dragons. Dragons & dragon related content. The optional plugins are there for a reason. Use them, or don't. The creatures option is 3jious own little side-project.

those are your opinions. and considering that one of you is the mod author, that probably makes it final. I, however, disagree on all the points.

Let me try again here.. .. Healing spells just lengthen dragon fights further, something that is already achieved by the increased health pool. Self-healing enemies are never much fun to fight against. Not when it's a dragon that can actually kill you. Bandits with potions are one thing.. A dragon is another. Dragons don't need restoration spells to kill undead either, they have claws/teeth/shouts for that.

Alteration & Illusion spells are tools for the player to use.. They just do not work in the hands of an A.I. NPC. Besides a temporary invisibility spell perhaps.

3jiou has made better "Destruction" type spells than what is currently available to the player.

I already mentioned summoned creatures as somewhat useful. Specifically the Dremora lord...

If you feel you can explain your position better, I'm all ears and willing to listen. If your only example is something I specifically mentioned though, I rest my case.

my position is only that I felt original dragons are somewhat lacking in variety attacks. if mod author supplied to this by giving more shouts that function as magic for dragons, my point is made. not specifically talking about healing magic :P

The mod does add new abilities to dragons, including summons. Your "point" is already addressed in the mod in it's current form. Either way, having dragons use "standard spells" is not happening, and I explained exactly why. So please, drop it. Thank you.

That Info is all on the mod page and in the readme. Several dragons summon other creatures. The Ancient Fire Dragon summons a "Flame thrall", which basically functions as a living time-bomb.. The Dracolich summons the ghost of a dragon priest. Lastly, the big-bad level 65 dragon, the "Aspect of Alduin", summons a flying skeletal dragon for a short time.

Just fought my first dragon with this mod installed when I created my new character today. It was the named dragon at the western watchtower.

What a crazy fight. I'm playing on Expert with PISE, and I had to do the fight over several times, but that was mostly because I forgot to stock up on potions before the fight (only had 3 healing potions and some venison...).

But it was epic. Unless I screwed up, I usually only died at the very end of the fight and the dragon was already fairly weak, and I was out of potions. Had I remembered to stock up I probably wouldn't have had to reload 4 or 5 times to complete this fight.

Even so, the difficulty was nice, I had to use cover and plan my attacks on the dragon to coincide with when he was distracted or I got bbqed almost instantly (seeing as how I could only "fully heal" once with the potions I had, I could only really take a hit once or twice!)

Excited to try to fight the harder ones on my existing characters. Thanks for the mod!

Deadly Dragons v2.8

Where can I see a "detailed" list of the Added items and changed elements?

I ask couse I had in mind to make a new Dragon from scrtatch and I wanted to make this compatible with that mod ...

What really needs fixing is when you're defending a town or city from a dragon attack and and a spell or shout accidently hit one of the almost usless residents or guards, and the WHOLE BLOODY TOWN the completely ignores the massive fire breathing flying lizzard and all gang up on you! (rant over)
Though this really isn't within the scope of this mod, for sure, it becomes a problem with it, because without deadly dragons, a dragon fight in a built up area lasts about 12 seconds!

You can see it on Nexus, in the readme :)

Quick warning. I stream dead is dead live and my 210hp vamp just got double tapped by a mud crab due to master difficulty + the creatures mod.

It was hilarious and crazy. Be warned. Some parts of this mod don't play well with master difficulty.

I mean, I can't believe its not coded into the game, especially as it was a terribly common problem in Oblivion (accidently hitting an ally whilst in an oblivion gate/tower, grabbing the sigil stone, being transported back to Cyrodiil - and getting arrested! WTF!). When you hit a follower they shout "hey I'm on your side" and carry on fighting, only hitting them repeatedly make them turn on you. But in a town / settlement its crazy. NPCs who were cowering from the dragon suddenly gain the courage to attack the one person actually taking on the dragon!
It also seems shouts are really the issue as the actually seem to go through the target and hit anything on the otherside

Well, version 2.9.1 has been released. Fixed a few armor enchantment bugs, added two new dragons for low-levels, and the old "Desaturated" texture pack has been corrected.. There was a mix-up in files somewhere along the way. See the user image section for a few comparison screenshots. Hopefully the issue with Wrye Bash has been fixed. Can't tast it out at the moment.

Deadly Dragons doesn't touch mudcrabs in any way. So your result was due to some other mod.

Must be in one of the optional files then. My mistake.

I'm only using this for hard dragons and the added dragons to go alongside PISE.

A word of advice, keep that other stuff in a separate plugin as you have been doing, a lot of people only want a mod called "deadly dragons" to affect dragons, myself included.

It IS in a seperate plugin. FYI. The whole mode is modular, besides the new dragons.

Yup, I know, that's why I said "as you have been doing".

I was just advising that you keep doing what you're doing.

Here's a screenshot of the college being terrorised by an aspect of alduin.

I downloaded and had to manually install due to tr issue with wyre bash. I didn't read the readme since I was streaming while installing

Completely my mistake but ya deadlydragonscreature.esp will make draugr mudcrabs all dwemer and falmer as well as a few other things nearly godlike on master difficulty.

Well, 2.9.3 has been uploaded, mainly minor bugfixes & balance tweaks. The mod is very close to being "bug free".. Some users are bound to have issues here and there, but they are isolated cases and could be from any number of things.. Looking forward to having the Creation Kit in our hands so we can fix a few other minor things... And have dedicated tools for once.

I've noticed some various rings being dropped by dragons, and they have names but no effects.
A. Is this your mod doing this?
B. Are they supposed to have enchantments?

A. yep this mod is adding them
B. you give them enchantments with dragon souls, i believe. the souls are also dropped by dragons. they are normally shards, but the shards can be made into whole souls via smithing
