[RELz] Deadly Dragons

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 5:45 pm

I've killed about 5 dragons two of them blood dragons and have yet to find a soul shard. I've found a helm, gloves, and rin but no shards. Is this a conflict with another mod maybe? Or just va luck. Where should dd.esp go in the load order compared to PISE and armoury of Tamriel? I have both the PISE dd and the dd.esps installed. Is this correct? Thanks! Love the mod.

Fixed. Load order issue. Needs to be aot then crafting at the end

Well, 2.9.3 has been uploaded, mainly minor bugfixes & balance tweaks. The mod is very close to being "bug free".. Some users are bound to have issues here and there, but they are isolated cases and could be from any number of things.. Looking forward to having the Creation Kit in our hands so we can fix a few other minor things... And have dedicated tools for once.

Awesome! :intergalactic:

Does 2.9.3 fix the ice and shock dragon naming ? EDIT - just saw on nexus that this will wait til CK is out

Have you thought about working with plutoman re chaning the townspeople ai so they flee instead of fight the dragons? (as PISE has a ai plugin)Thats the only negative (and beths fault not yours) about this mod.. that named townspeople tend to die very easily to the dragons.

This "should" be easier with the construction set by changing aggression/confidence levels of the town npcs.

thanks for making a great mod. Skyrim was getting a little stale and this mod made it fresh again !

is this mod performance-intensive? if yes, is the load more cpu or gpu oriented?

It doesn't really eat up performance at all, from what I've experienced.

My pure thief just got his first encounter with a random dragon in riverwood earlier today. I'm lvl 36, and even though it was an elder flame dragon, it still managed to wipe out the Whiterun guards with ease. And me, being without my companion and unable to sneak attack at all, got blown to smithereens as well. This is the first time I've ever died to a dragon, and it's all thanks to this mod! Great job, and hope to see the other dragons soon!

It does but load order may also address some of this as SMM is an esm. It also introduces its own varieties.

[edit] ohh and Wrye Bash - always essential when combining mods that address leveled lists.

I've been running it on an i5-2430m (2.4 ghz dual-core w/ turbo to 3.0 ghz), 6 gb of RAM and a nvidia 540m, and It has not affected my performance in the slightest.

On another note, I'm still running the last 'stable' version (2.9.5). Do you all recommend upgrading to the beta, or waiting until it becomes an official release?

I just upgraded to the 3.0.2 beta from 2.9.5. Everything seems to be in order, except that the storm dragon that I fought was psuedo-translucent. Is that by design? It looks really cool, I just want to make sure that I didn't mess up my install. I hadn't fought any storm dragons in 2.9.5, so I didn't know what to expect.

Thanks!

I put this on the nexus comments, but would also like to reiterate it here. Can we have a non-BSA version of the new textures uploaded please :)

So that anyone who wishes to develop or use dragon texture replacers compatible with your mod would not have their work overridden, mostly. Mod-activated BSAs load after loose files, so the textures provided by the base mod would always win.

I just tired of hundred comments about invisible dragons/armors, so I prefer to pack it to BSA
Anyway, if you know what you're doing, just extract BSA in Data folder and delete BSA archive

Noobs are getting invisible dragons cos they haven't installed the texture pack. They'll still have this problem when they don't install the BSA.
Having difficulty finding a program to extract Skyrim BSAs, plus I dislike greatly how plugin related BSAs are handled by the game. I'm NOT asking for you not to upload the BSA, I'd just like the option of a normal texture pack. Some of us actually know what we're doing here!

I'm planning on starting a new game with this, as of right now, 3.0.3 beta is the most current. Is this stable enough, or should I go with the last official release?

Supposedly they've fixed the BSA issue, now they load in the same order as your plug-ins. (That's what Wrinkly Ninja said Gstaff said the devs said)

From my understanding, the texture pack in no way affects vanilla dragons, only the dragons that he created. Im about 100% certain because i still use reign of dragons that redid all the vanilla dragons to 4096x4096..i think those were the resolutions...but anyways and its nor overwriting anything except for the free beth's highres texture pack dragons...which i am very disappointed in the lack of resolution/detail they did.

Also from what i am seeing in difference is the "actions" of the dragons. No longer staying in one spot so long, keeping on the move, etc etc. dunno bout new abilities or changes in stats though. Mod author have to clear that part up.
