PATCH YOUR GAME.

Not a word in two weeks. Broken quests, game breaking bugs etc. Just a little, "We're still working on it" at this point would be GREAT.

I can't go to The Fort without the game crashing. After dealing with endless load screens (even with it installed to the hd), I just don't have the damn patience to restart my console one more time.

I have had little choice in how I want to proceed in this game, due to quests being bugged, we paid money for this game. This game is not shelf ready. The least you could do is open up a dialogue with your base. It's disrespectful, ridiculous and should not be tolerated.

To the people with no bugs, we don't care. WE DON'T CARE. We get it, you don't have any bugs. Congrats, here is your medal. Enjoy. Thanks for sharing. Good job, you are the king.

To the apologists, shut up. Nobody cares. I know that all of you are right here, because where else would you be? But from a majority of the people who pay $$$$, this is unacceptable. Vote with your wallets folks, don't contribute to a company that treats you with so little respect.

Thank you and good luck.

Are you sure? Because they haven't said anything since launch day. I would like to also be sure. It would be nice to know they were..

Im with the OP....it not that there isnt a patch, its that they have gone into silence since a few days after the game came out.

A simple blog post from Obsidian on the bethblog that says 'Dont fear users we are hard at work on fixing these bugs/glitches and hope to have a patch by [instert date]' would keep me happy.

Seems like bthesda just likes keeping stuff hidden.

Maybe a possible reason towards why their not responding is that they are not allowed to

This little bit should be of importance to you:
We want everyone to know that we are monitoring the forums and cataloging every single issue we see reported. We’re reading forum posts, we’re checking Twitter, and we’re reading Facebook comments. We aren’t able to reply to most threads, but we’re listening. If we see an issue, we have people here trying to reproduce it so we can fix it.

This. I don't see how they could make it any more visible. Besides, two weeks isn't long enough to compile and test a big patch. Compiling issues, figuring out what's wrong, and getting fixes in place is only half of the process. The patch has to go through the QA and release process after that. Not only that, if they're working with hardware manufacturers on compatibility issues who knows how long the back-and-forth with nVidia and ATI will take. All told it will take at least a month.

I hate the fact that Bethesda decided meeting their release date was more important than releasing the game without many bugs, but here we are. Filling up the forum with "where's my patch" threads isn't going to make it go any faster. You know, people being grown ups about the fact that we have to wait for more fixes doesn't make people apologists...it just makes them people that aren't throwing a tantrum. If you want to send a message don't buy their next game. Heck, even come to the forum and say you're not buying their next game. Insulting other forum members doesn't help anybody.

That was a day after the game was released and before the patch. Maybe they're done now? Who knows. Nobody but them. We pay their salaries, we should be in the loop a little.

This is how it goes, man. Most companies don't even tell you that they're working on a patch until it's released, and I don't think I've ever seen a game forum in which the developers kept forum members apprised of every step of the process. It would be cool if they maintained a blog with daily or weekly updates, but that's just not how it's usually done.

This is what fast food has done to our culture. Everybody wants everything NOW. Sheesh. A little patience, folks. They've already given us the heads up. You want a half-assed patch or a patch which fixes our problems?

So if you went to mcdonalds and they gave you a burger with no bun or condiments and a fry container with no fries, then told you to have a seat, brought you out the bottom piece of bread and then you didn't hear from them again, you would sit there for 2 weeks waiting for the top part of your sandwich and your fries?

If this is how it's done, then it needs to be done differently. They are a business, we are the customers, period. We don't buy the games, they don't exist.

Uh...I dunno, see. I've got my burger, my fries, my condiments and it tastes just fine to me. Sorry if your experience is going otherwise, but unless you've been IN the industry, I don't think you really have an argument here. At least not a very good one. There have been plenty games I've played which eventually became lauded as the greatest games of all time - all which required a decent patching or two, and all of which required a little bit of patience. But, if complaining helps either you or the industry meet better demands? By all means, go for it! I'm not happy with the bugs (what little I've discovered) but it's not bugged (oh yes I did!) me or hindered my enjoyment of the game enough to start complaining about it on a forum.

Well, that's good. But i'm sure you've been able to gather that some people are unable to actually play the game they paid for, so unless you've been IN that situation, I don't think you really have an argument here. At least not a very good one.

And if it was just clipping bugs and my rifle being halfway over my head most of the time, then that's one thing, but as you've probably read in countless professional and amateur reviews, it's much worse than that.

Kerberos Productions have pretty well informed members. Some of the top staff post there regularly. Even the company CEO.

What should have happened is that Bethesda should have pushed back the release date. That's what could (and should) have been done differently. Barring that there isn't a whole lot they could do better. Patches just take time. They don't give us a ton of information about what's going to be in the patch or when it's going to be released because that can cause a whole host of other problems. I'm not saying this as an apologist, but as a software developer. Releasing a patch that causes more problems because it wasn't tested well is just going to make things worse, and being too transparent about what you're doing can cause a lot of PR and expectations management problems...not to mention even more forum rage than we're currently seeing.

That's great if they can manage to keep their community updated in detail without causing problems. I don't doubt that some companies do it, but most do not.

Anyway, I'm sure Bethesda/Obsidian is going to have a patch ready ASAP. They have to want to get the game more universally stable before Christmas for obvious reasons.

Well, no, that's simply ridiculous. The truth is, there will be players with serious, game-breaking bugs. No doubt. Unless the entire fanbase is quite obviously experiencing horrible problems, then the developer will not comment about it all of the time reporting their progress. Well, the fanbase isn't. Most are playing the game, and the rightfully vocal group of people are reporting them. The point is, you will get your patch. One in the first 2 weeks is reasonable anyway.

It has for a lot of people though, myself included. I don't really feel like it right now, but usually I wouldn't pass up the chance to [censored] and whine about this.

I figure maybe if they know that people are angry, then they wont make this mistake again. They probably will though lol.

No, not really. No amount of information would be enough for some people. If they would post, like they already did, that they are working on a patch, people are not satisfied and want minute detail about what, and why.

If they would give a tentative date, and miss it because of something beyond their control happening that needs to be fixed, or needs to be approved or validated by another agency, people would be screaming about the devs lying. If they say they are trying to fix issues a,b,c,d,e,f, and g, the rants about them not caring about their customers because they haven't managed to fix issues h, i, j, k, and l yet. If they release a patch that fixes only a few issues, the "the devs don't care, look at the half-assed job they did" threads would start. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Better, imo, that they keep quiet and keep working on the patch. Talking about fixing something doesn't really get it fixed.

They've said they are reading the forums to find out about problems/glitches and issues. That is why the mods keep moving threads about problems into the correct forum; the more issues clearly reported the more information the devs have to work with for a patch.

I'm not ready to contact the better business bureau or burn my game in the street. I would just like some kind of word from up on high that they are actually working on the problems still (two weeks later) and not quickly trying to pump out the next dlc. I don't think that's unreasonable at all, considering the circumstances.

Well, if the statements they've already made about the first patch being released and working on the second are a lie then I don't see what would be stopping them from just lying again. They already said they're working on it, so if they give another update it's either going to be, "we're still working on it (lie)" or "we're still working on it (truth)," right?

You really should care that a lot of people aren't experiencing bugs. It means it's not universal, which means it's just that little bit harder to reproduce. If the devs can't reproduce it, they can't diagnose it, and they can't fix it.

I really really don't think they are hard to reproduce. I've seen a lot of people complain about the bugs. There are some things that none of you can do, like most of the slots etc. I have a lot of friends who play this and we all have the same issues. I follow celebrities on twitter who are having the same problems and tweeting about it. I didn't say a lot of people aren't, but of course there are some that are the exception and they love announcing how they are having no problems as if they are on the only people in the world. If it was a few isolated cases, we wouldn't really hear about it, except maybe from people [censored]ing and moaning on here, but as you've seen, it affected most reviews of the game.

Once again, I can deal with almost all bugs and not say a word, but when I can't finish or play the game because of them, then I say something. If I was having no problems I wouldn't post in a thread about all the bugs announcing that the game is fine for me, because I can think about someone besides myself for two seconds.
