Just put the difficulty on novice, people. It's very simple.

I think that illustrates where Bethesda needs to rebalance the game.

I really enjoyed watching that! When I done that particular fight with my warrior build I just used Dragon rend(or whatever its called) and bashed the crap out the dragons with a warhammer, which was quite easy(admittedly though I was on expert not master). That video made it look much more challenging and rewarding at the end, good show! :goodjob:

Except hiding behind a wall isn't my idea of fun. I think Mages are very weak and they only have speed and distance as their advantage to a warrior.

That's usually how mages work in RPG's.......

I think that illustrates where Bethesda needs to rebalance the game.

Why?

Do you HAVE to play on Master?

No, of course you don't... You play on the difficulty that is appropriate for YOU given your personal skills and character power.

Considering most people complain that the game is to easy even on Master...

It seems to me that Magic doesn't need much buffing, but melee weapons need a nerf...

just sayin'

If the focus of magicka revolved less about spell cost in Skyrim, and more about a combination of damage + perks and spell cost - perks it would make much more sense in my opinion. You wouldn't necessarily even need extra spells to accomplish a very deep experience for mages if there was a way to augment damage, say an elemental specialization past low health kills, outside of Alchemy. I'm not sure why they didn't add Destruction damage augment enchants, other than the reason that it would have perhaps made Mages that specialize death machines. Though a Mage really should be a death machine.

It really seems that the magicka cost aspect of Skyrim was an answer to the 1 Stamina free power attacks for melee.

The schools of magicka pretty much railroad you through cost reduction, and the equipment you pick up or are awarded do the same thing. Even without focusing on cost reduction, enchanting or otherwise, you still reduce cost one way or the other.

I never said anything about master difficulty. Only pointed out that there's something wrong with the design if it's "impossible" to use Destruction magic above minimal difficulty.

Let's see.

The first vid was you spamming one spell for 5 minutes, the 2nd did not work, the 3rd is just a fine example of my belief that most every fight is a knock-down drag-out brawl for the mage where a melee fighter would made much quicker work of those multiple enemies and the 4th was you spamming spells again.

I see nothing there that could be considered a creative or fun use of magic. Your videos accentuate the problem with a weak magic system, it does not establish a counter-argument to the existence of the problem.
