Did anyone else totally fall in love with the goblins at gam

More creatures is always good, but I wasn't especially taken with the goblins. The Falmer are goblin like creatures with more of an interesting story to them. Also it makes sense that Skyrim has different creatures than Cyrodiil.

You should give Arena a try Skaal, since you're well versed in the others. Well minus Redguard.
someday, perhaps, but that doesn't mean i am not a "vet" of the series just because i haven't. i have a very good knowledge of the series in it's entirety and i am a very big fan. but i think the series is going in the right direction, and i see nothing wrong with skyrim. it's different, and thats how it should be. if every single tes game was the same and they didn't change things, i probably wouldn't still be a fan.

seems to me like the main event isn't the main event anymore, as people have obviously moved on passed the mundane irratating gameplay of previous tes games, such as daggerfall and battlespire. those games were fun, but only if you devoted serious time to them to get amazing at the game. then it became fun. bethesda realizes how stupid that is, and now makes games so people actually, you know, have fun and stuff. that apparently doesn't bode well for the main event, a guy who uses dice rolls to figure out his toppings at Subway. Eat fresh bro, and learn to get with the times.

That`s your view. there are many different flavours to fun.

Right now, the `fun` is rapidly getting watered down in games to the point you might as well stick the DVd in the drive and just watch it.

I don't believe they use QTE's or cutscenes so I am unsure of what you mean.

Uhh, k? do you want a cookie? does that make your opinion any more valid than anyone elses? not a single bit. ive been, with the series for 15 years. my opinion holds just as much water as yours.

Now you're just kickin' the man while he's down.

Why are we argueing on this forum? Everybody's opinoin is different, and they all count whether or not you've played all the games or skyrim's your first one. It's your decision to make, and that's why these threads, and this forum was made. So you can say your opinoins. No need to get in a heated arguement over it. Hey, if everyone thought exactly the same, this world would be horrible. That's why we're all different! We all have our own opinoins!

You can't properly judge a game unless you've played it.

I was referring to the older games. Most of these kids have never played Daggerfall and probably don't even know what Arena is. Probably think we're referring to the arena in Oblivion.

I personally thought they were an interesting concept for how many were shown... like a horde, though that might not have been how they would be in game. As creatures, meh, they've been in 3 games of the main series (2 if you don't count expansions) and they were alright looking but nothing special. Falmer are essentially the same atm so they'd need something to make them unique.

I think Rieklings would be more appropriate than Goblins for the setting of Skyrim. Rieklings are said to be Ice Goblins but I'm not sure if there is any actual relation between the two. As far as Goblins in Skyrim go, I don't see a problem with it, though they are not the most robust of creatures and would be hardpressed to survive in such an environment. I imagine that they wouldn't be nearly as numerous as they are or were in Cyrodiil and would probably stick to the more temperate regions.

Oh, how DARE Bethesda make a new game different to it's predecessors?! How DARE they make improvements that allow for more freedom, creativity and unique gameplay?!.

i just feel it is important to not let delusions exist, removing attributes does, for a 100% fact, remove freedom, now i cannot make my strong armed, weak jawed warrior who only wears pants and has to avoid the pointy end of every sword to survive, now i cannot make an agile and fast anything since attributes are taken out

anyway, on topic: goblins are always annoying :teehee:

No. Instead of "goblins" they need to correct what they've wronged us vets. Patch in attributes immediately and then start to add back everything else they gutted.

They're probably not that ignorant. If we're talking about an Elder Scrolls game, then well obviously it really can't be Oblivion because that's part of the game, not the title. Although I get what you're saying about it.

Morrowind later introduced Goblins in their expansion pack. Now it seems like expansion packs have died, but maybe they`ll do the same for DLCs.

What I liked in that `jam` (whatever the hell that means) was the spears and teleport points (which was similar to what we had in Morrowind). I don`t really mind `Fast travel` if it has a reason in the world why and a cost.

Todd did state that the DLC for Skyrim would feel more like expansions then like DLC. Id have no problem shelling out $15 for a DLC/expansion. I wont however pay $15 for horse armor.......

I mean really.......

me? because daggerfall was my first TES game, and that floppy stayed in my drive for a long time. after morrowind was released, i didn't see the need to play arena. i have since played battlespire though, and it's more or less the same game as daggerfall with a different style and story. while it was fun (especially the heavy daedric feel) i still see no point in playing arena.
I wouldn't from what i've heard, Arena could've been good, but it was kind of a mess and was too ambitious for the technology, and battlespire was awful: just endless righting with no free roaming and out dated graphics. But again it's just what i've heard. I'd judge it for yourself though. We all have different ideas of what we like. But I wish I learned about daggerfall....heard it was the size of Britain. But I have a 360 so it svcks.
