They need to meet the skeleton swimming under the Dragonsreach bridge. That's the last spoiled brat. Make them think.

Tug my heart stings? No. Frankly, I couldn't care less.

Contrary to modern money-worshipping standards, the Dragonborn doesn't suffer a miserable 9-5 job and tell themselves it's "for the kids!"

IMO kids are put on too high a pedestal. Maybe if the dragons would burn a few more, people would start to question why they tolerate living like slaves while the rich have immortality.

Probably not.

The kid from Helgen is alive and well, and he is even with someone who starts and interesting quest line

Anyway,I don't think the deaths of Helgens residents could even be that emotional, as you don't know any of them.

Fast traveling all over Skyrim to kill ghostly mudcrabs isn't cool.

Elenwen's at Helgen? When? I've made like 9 characters, and never saw her.
Here's a screencap of her at Helgen: http://aldmeri.tumblr.com/post/16116260273

When you first enter the city look to your right, General Tullius is there, Elenwen is sitting on a horse next to him.
I never noticed that either. I actually almost want to play the cart scene again now to see it. Geez, I never thought I would say that. :)

The kid's alive and miserable all alone in a hut accompanied only by the corpse of his grandfather, who had a little accident involving the dragonborn

u know which one

"Another traveler here to lick my father's boots. Good job!" or

"You can't even get a decent sweet roll in this skeeverhole of a town!"

I think it's the first one. Do I get a cookie?

And regarding Elenwyn.... I thought that the Skeleton Key was supposed to open any door in Skyrim. They lied. It won't open the Thalmor Embassy door!!!! I went back and tried. "Key Required. This lock cannot be picked." It's a frakkin' skeleton key you morons! I'm not picking the lock. Funny thing was the Thalmor Wizard looks at me "Oh, you're the brute who killed me last time." Yeah, and you get to die again. Waahhhh!!!!!! I wanted to play terrorist!!!!!!

As I started a new game, I realized Bethesda makes it very known that there is a child around before the attack. After coming back to Helgen and remembering that child, I Fus Ro Dah'd every bandit I could find in the area. This also goes for all the innocent people around just watching the execution.

Anybody else?

They tried to take my head...

I'm an open-minded Dunmer Assassin, but even for me that's a little unforgivable. Just my opinion though. Maybe I need to be nicer to the Imperial dogs who are trying to kill me as I escape the devastation in my homeland.

And let's not forget:

Soldier: "The Gods sure have abandoned your people Dark Elf. Captain, he's not on the list. What should we do?"

Captain: "Forget the list! He gos to the block!"

Yeah... no sympathy from me.

Did Helgen tug at the heart strings a bit?

Hmm.. NO actually, thinking about it, I don't think anything in the game did. The quests are obviously written and designed by blokey blokes who have no knowledge or experience of the full range of human emotions.

It's kind of sad when his dad says "Make me proud..." before Alduin kills him.

edit: Not sure what any of this has to do with a Jarl's son. I mean, the kid is like trying to get his injured dad up. If anything, he has some balls. And people use THIS as an excuse to talk about killing kids in the game?

Wait, what? Did Beth actually reference to a childs death?
As in, no one else survive and only you can tell the world.

Actually, the child can be found at Froki's shack.

Kid doesn't recognize you in Froki's shack. He should. It was an entire traumatic experience.

Well, the first time I played through the intro, it was pretty amazing. By the 15th time or so, well - I have other ways of starting the game now. I did worry about the boy.... I was startled that there was a child to begin with (this is BETH....); then in Riverwood and everywhere else, there were more kids. Big change. And okay change. I found the boy again with his grandda - I talked to him about living there, and he basically said he was bored.

I figure, if I were a child in that position, seeing the dragon, KNOWING it fried my da.... I would do my subconcious best to forget it.... So that's why I figure he doesn't talk about Helgen.

I just didn't like having to choose between the Imperials and Stormcloaks right away. Especially after meeting both Hadvar and Ralof, and knowing that if I went with one, the other will probably die.
