Did Helgen tug at the heart strings a bit? : V

As I started a new game, I realized Bethesda makes it very known that there is a child around before the attack. After coming back to Helgen and remembering that child, I Fus Ro Dah'd every bandit I could find in the area. This also goes for all the innocent people around just watching the execution.

Anybody else?

And then they make all children into immortal snobbish jerks that you can't hurt in any way.

He is shown to be saved the moment you jump onto the roof of a tavern and exit the building.

The child lives. He's found living with his grandfather, who sends you a long hunting quest.

No reference to the child later on, also you see more children at the start, and only one during your escape process, but you leave him behind rather quickly.

General Tullius also says very few made it out alive, that doesn't mean the child didn't, but it doesn't mean he did either. No children can be found at the orphanage that reference Helgen either. Seeing however as Riften has the only orphanage in Skyrim the logical conclusion would be that the children died or had family outside of Skyrim that picked them up.

I don't believe so. I never met a Nord child named Haming in my 250 hours, outside of Helgen. He would have at least made it to Riverwood, or maybe Whiterun. Unless he was prey to bandits or beasts on his way.
But lets hope at least.

Edit: Now I remember. I found him in a hunters shack with some old guy. Good kid.

Let alone a kid whose home got torched by a bil ol' derg'n.

When you first enter the city look to your right, General Tullius is there, Elenwen is sitting on a horse next to him. Two Thalmor guards accompony her.

Cause it's a town... Just with a fortress in it.
