Did we really got to the moon?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:11 pm

I don't think the OP realizes just how expensive it is to send a rocket in space. Let alone a man in space. Let alone a rocket to the moon. Let alone a rocket with people on it, to the moon.
The.
Moon.
That's uh, a few billion dollars probably. Why would we? There is no need, no point, no requirement, and they wouldn't get anything out of it. We know pretty much all we need/want to about the moon. There is nothing there but dead rock and possibly water somewhere.
And with the state the country is in at the moment with cash, why in God's name would someone waste that much money on something so pointless.

It shows how much we've progressed, and what to expect in the future.

That wasn't what I was saying, my point was that it doesn't matter if you think the moonlanding is fake or real, it doesn't change facts.

Hmm the Americans are spending money on a useless "thing" billions, for years have been spending and will keep spending for at least a few years.
But no politics,i just could not resist the urge.

Answer this,if that many years ago we were able to go to the moon, why , after all that time we couldn't do it again?

The technology made huge progress ,yet we couldn't do it again.

The Russian and Americans went to the moon with the help of that "ancient" technology, and now when we are much more advanced....

I don't believe man was ever on the moon.

Discuss this matter here.

Have you ever been to Earth? Come back down sometime.

We went to the moon. The conspiracy therein has been debunked so many times the only way to approach this is to laugh at it.

Thirded. Contact with the moon or not, I'm just going to sit back and play video games. To the Playstation! :coolvaultboy:

Agreed all ready on it! :P

It shows how much we've progressed, and what to expect in the future.

It's not I don't care about other things. We got to help the people on this earth first before we fly a rocket to the moon. I care about people and our future but saving the lives of many people is in front of sending a rocket to the moon.

Informative, well made. Thank you. :touched:

and if you pile up enough money you can pay the Russians to take you to the moon.

We would give the conspiracy theory junkies new video footage of a 'fake' moon landing. So that they can find more 'mistakes' on actual footage.

Not that that's worth anything, let alone billions.

I get that a lot.

But really, what's the point of spending money to land on the moon again? We know what we need to know about it, I'd rather the US spent money on something that will yield actual results and benefit the country.

Words cannot describe how mind numbingly infuriating this type of thinking is to me, or how tragic more people don't hate apathy as much as I do. How could it possibly not matter? How could you POSSIBLY not care? It's one thing to believe wrongly but to not even [censored] care? That attitude is the vile cancer that is killing our culture.

Wow, you sound like my father. And I hate my father.

...I know that's a reference to something, but I forgot from where.

I'd tell you not to care about us not caring, but that wouldn't make much sense here. Just think of it like this: Some people just don't want anything to do with this stuff. Nothing. We just want to enjoy our lives and not live with anxiety, looking everywhere possible to try and find something horribly wrong with how things work.

I couldn't possible care less about what happens in the world. Even if the United States became a raging dictatorship and a nuclear war broke out between it and all of its enemies, I'd probably blow up with a controller in my hand or something. I wouldn't even care if mutant chainsaw-wielding zombies invaded the east coast.

Also, I don't enjoy being compared to cancer.

It doesn't help that NASA's budget just got cut :meh:

Next time I'm making sure the person I vote for (not that I was old enough to do it last time anyway) supports space exploration...

I would make the war argument, but no politics so i digress.

You're not discussing, you're trolling and abusing the rule against politics. Thread over. Don't bring it up again.
