BAWWW!
The DLC ain't available for the 1C-Cenega version (neither is the patch, lol).
Beth, stop working with these dolts! The same thing happened with F3 (1.7 patch released after GOTY version came up, the previous one was 1.1 :brokencomputer: )

The Pitt...was special. The Pitt was a mix a mix of excitement and disappointment. It's tedious gameplay mechanics and ridiculous story line make an exceptional DLC when you first play it. Once you start playing it over and over again, you realize the story's deep interaction with the player helps you understand the DLC was never meant to be enjoyed...but perhaps understood. The way Bethesda unraveled the story to us was magnificent, something you only realize once you look behind the surface, into the core, and understand that fun was not the word Bethesda thought of in development. The word they thought of was suspense, explaining the unexpected twists in the plot, and NPC interaction. The idea of being in the middle of a conspiracy is original, the truth behind the lies, reading in between the lines, looking past what is shown to you, and finding what is being hidden from you. Many horror survivals have this but The Pitt puts the original idea into a way the player can be terrified, intrigued, and smiling all the way. I have to say, while past developers have done better, this DLC is in my top 10.

Edit: I agree with you.

Plus, it was just so damn beautiful.

Going into the Steelyard and looking up for the first time...wow.
I never imagined you'd actually be able to get on top of the blast furnace, either.

If only it had been a little bigger size-wise; after that DLC I would love for a game to be centered around The Pitt itself.

Ya, I thought the same thing. It has a very Dante-esque beauty to it. It's dirty, dark, and grimy but has a very distinct attractiveness that's hard to put into words. It's not for everyone, but for a fan of things like Spawn and Diablo, it hits a certain note that I find aesthetically pleasing at the same time as disturbing. Gotta love paradoxical feelings.

1. Ratings are reliable.

They're not though.
RE5 got great ratings and it's the worst Resident Evil game I've ever played.
RE5 should just have been release as some goofy spin-off game and expanded on the "Mercenaries" minigame and built on that.
(And named it something else... REvil: Mercenaries?)
That would've been a good game, not very REvil but a spin-off can be goofy and out of character as long as it's enjoyable.

I miss the days when you could buy any old RPG, and you'd be at it for weeks. I haven't seen a "good, like that" RPG since Shining Force 2...granted SF2 was more "quasi-RPG"...

Is it just me? Or do people cry about anything these days?

I haven't even left the fountain yet, and I can tell you this DLC is gonna be epic. If you don't like it, don't play it.

I didnt say its hard for me.. I just dont like the whole idea and the methods used to give more gameplay time. Everyone knows the best DLC we played is Point Lookout and thats the way DLC should be made. They need to put more thoughs in making DLCs, like why we buy Fallout (exploration, enviroment, free will), not just another hardcoe shooter. If it was like that we would all play COD,BF and other polish games that nail'd this part.

Edit: I didnt say i hate The Pitt. It was my least favourite from all other 4 DLCs.

I am so upset because when i get the dlc for the ps3 i wanted to beat the game first. i saved before but i accidentally deleted my save so i beat it and now i have to wait until they fix it (if they ever will) to play through the game. Is there any rumors going around that they will patch it?

Presuming you're meaning by 'fix' play after the end. The answer is no, it has been stated that Obsidian are not planning and as far as I know are not going to plan on allowing gameplay after the end of the main quest and given that it was designed that way it cannot be 'fixed' because it is already working as intended.

With regards to ratings on sites or in gaming magazines, they don't mean diddly as they are basically that site/magazines opinion on what they think the game/DLC is like. I've played games which have recieved amazing ratings and I thought that the game was a complete waste of time and money, conversely I've also played games which have been poorly rated and I thought they were much better than the reviews/ratings said.

Lastly with regards to Dead Money and how it plays, if you try to play it as a gun and run style of game then you will be dissapointed because it is not that sort of game.

Well folks I am not a puzzle person either: especially mazes with umpteen twists and turns. For me, it takes the fun out of the game.

However, that isn't why I am responding to this thread. As an avid Dragon Age Origins fan I spent well over $100 buying DLC's that weren't worth a diddly damn. They didn't progrees the storyline either forward or backwards --in line with the characters and their past and/or future. In fact, Bioware's last DLC for the game was a total bomb. It made no sense whatsoever. They are coming out with Dragon Age 2 which they totally redone. I played the demo last night, which they released and it too svcked. I won't be buying it, just like I won't be buying DEAD MONEY. I have learned my leason well. Thank you.

I enjoyed it. My only real complaint is the map design... it was a bit too maze-like in places, and the over abundance of conveniently obscured radios became irritating towards the end. On the other hand the DLC had great writing, the setting of a lost "paradise" filled with a mysterious, dangerous people was enjoyable, and the limited supplies added some challenge even for my level 30 character.

I like the DLC so far, I am at the last quest/part.
It's not the best DLC, but it is good.

It is not hard at all, it's just too damn dark and the map is not very good. The story is interesting, althou you can say from the beginning what will happen at the end.
Last stages are very annoying thou, because the player just gets more of the same, same old clouds, same old radios and holograms. Go here, go there in the same areas.

I was planning to explore a bit and get the collectibles after I beat it, but I am pretty bored from the settings, so I will leave the place in the first chance I get.
Devs kind of stretched the length of the game with too much save/loads from annoying radios etc.

Am I the only person who found this DLC to be easy as pie? Even on hardcoe?

I mean really, its not that hard. I really get the feeling that if you just pay attention while you play you won't have a single problem. I'm sorry but I fail to see how keeping an eye out for traps, radios and hologram projectors constitutes as puzzle solving. Learn to save. Heck worrying about health isn't even that much of a problem. If you missed the stimpack code then you just DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Dead Money. Hands down one of the best pieces of DLC I've ever played. But I fail to see how its hard, or how "its hard" is a valid complaint.

They really call THAT a puzzle?
I was starting to think the dlc actually has some puzzles like adventure games or something.
Thanks

Lol very well said.
I felt the same way at the end of the Zeta, like I am feeling now, frustrated and bored.

Everyone hopes for a "Point Lookout"

I just hope not another "Broken Steel"

BTW

From Now on

Mothership Zeta will be called

"The Burned DLC"

(Seriously, Zeta is the Worst DLC ever along with Knight of the Nine and the "Tribunal" expansion of Morrowind, NO MORE ALIENS)

Was wondering the same... It added another option for players to choose, the Holly Crusader type of guy.

Can someone tell me whether they put the new guns in the Mojave? Do we keep everything when we leave the hole? This is just putting me to sleep and I'm about to reload an old save to get back out to the fun. Yawn! I had to quit the game to come here and post... that is how horrific this Dead Money is!

Tribunal? That was one of the best expansions for any game ever in my opinion. The quests and dialogue were so intriguing. I don't see how you can say that is the worst expnasion pack of all time. You get much more from that pack then you do for most games expansions. I think BloodMoon was better but Tribunal was still a pinacle of the ES series. I loved the closed face paced political feel to it.
But I do agree that Mothership Zeta blows, that felt more like a chore than playing a game.
