My DLC dream of dreams would be some co-op action.

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 10:34 pm

I know this topic has been beaten downlike more then a dead horse. And would probably be impossiable cause it would be a nightmare to figure out how to balance the characters to each level or not if my idea was implemented.

My idea of a workable co-op experience would not importing your character from the singal player game. Rather, co-op character would be seperate from the singal player game all together.

The co-op play, would consist of 4 to 6 different classes. To prevent lag, the entire world of skyrim would not open online. Just a castle that gets upgraded via moeny and loot acuired through raids, which you can save up and buy an arena for and eventually build you own city that people online can come and vist. The loot you dont want you can have it be sold through your mercenants. Thus, it would be like your own personal auction house.

This would create incentives for you and other people to visist and raid with other people cause they need either mats or equipment for their own character or city. In stead of having a big open world full of needless space just have the same set up that LOTRO has for instances. Just gotoa menu, select the instance and bam your in.

Then, the city you built from online co-op make it an avaible city in your singal player game. Full of loot for your singal player to buy that will inturn help the cities encomy to buy other stuff for upgrades. i can go on and on on my dream co-opexperience but i know atteh endof the it will never happen andall icando is dream :(

No. There is no aspect of this game that is designed for more than one person, they would have to completly redesign the mechanics of the game

ok the co-op would add to or take away from anything from your singal player experience. It could give those people seeking depth in character development some justice by putting all that hardcoe stuff into co-op while not affecting anything in the singal player department so give an account of your closed up mind.

no they wouldn't and they wouldnt need to use the content in the game. All they would need to do is take the mechanics they have, balance them out like they should have done to begin with, and make it like a true hardcoe rpg. All they'd need to do is keep's the games design but make it a whole new experience all together. Make some rules yet keep the comestics and core combat. It would work and it would probably be the most addictive online co-op on consoles

It's not about him having a "closed up mind". It's about Bethesda taking important time to first off, create the concepts, actually design all of it, and test it, when they could be spending that time fixing existing bugs, creating a story driven DLC content, and overall making an already kick ass game even better.

To be honest, I wouldn't want anyone inside my game, for the same reason that I don't play LOTRO any more. It was fun, when it was released and we gathered around completely without knowledge how to approach a certain instance. Once we knew, the fun was gone... the tone changed, until the chat was full of calls for a very specific build, because the kids had to do it quick. No, thanks... I never ever want to see any form of co-op in the Elder Scrolls Series, and I am quite sure so wants Bethesda.

all they would need to do is just tweak some existing content, throw in some old RPG mechanics, streamline some content rewards from co-op into the signal player, and whala, we get some co-op. Anyway, the process is irrelvant. It all comes down to the will of the company and quite frankly i doubt they'll ever get the will. Every die hard fan swears they wouldn't buy it, however, if i had a million dollars to invest into just a stock for a DLC co-op expansion i'd be placing a million dollar bet, because i think the fair weather fans that bought skyrim and put 40 hours into it then moved on, would be back with a vengenes. Then, when it became popular, the old "grey beard" elder of the scrolls elities and puriest couldn't and wouldn't be able to resist getting into it no matter what they say now.

Just think, if mods where able to create maps and tweak the gameplay for co-op action. I think the reason why they don't do it is cause it would trump any and everything on the market and they wouldn't be able to profit on it. Imagion every person that plays skyrim is able to build one distint city that is different from anybodies elses and then get to go on hand crafted raids and instances that everyone's bright minds help build. There would never be any reason to buy another video game for ever.

no definitly not, i would love to see fallout co op or even online co op for fallout, but elder scrolls needs to remain a single player game, its one of the last greats of its kind.

I'd rather see a create-a-companion then a co-op failure...custom companions would be alot better because they would follow you to the death, not go where they please and anger you for messing with your game ;)

The only multiplayer or co-op that would EVER in a MILLION years even REMOTELY work for TES would be a Red Dead: Redemption type multiplayer.

that could work but i got burnt out on the lack luster things to do on RDR. It was quickly labled a poor mans MMO. I think that more could be done with skyrim than just that. SOmething more like LOTRO instances and raids kinda of thing.

No, any game which isn't built from ground up to be multi-player cannot become multi-player with just a DLC. It will be like outfitting your PS3/XBOX with 2K worth of hardware to turn it into a laptop, you are better off just building a laptop from scratch.

So you acknowledge that this topic has been, "beaten to death" and yet you asked anyway. Especially knowing the outcome of threads like this.

No. There should be no co-op or multiplayer. No. Just NO.

No and will probably never happen with Skyrim. Maybe in a future game and if it does happen, hopefully it'll be in a "side quest" type TES game, not in the official series.

There's already a thread dedicated to this topic: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1320106-official-tes-multiplayerco-op-thread/

BTW: I am totally and unequivocally against any online / co-op content in the ES series. I'd rather give my eyeballs 1000 papercuts then pour salted lemon juice on them before I'd submit to this horrible idea.

thanks for the link, it has a ton of information. People dreamed up some crazy ideas about how co-op should be. I see how starting this is irrelvant now and didn't know it started many flame wars.

This must be a new record, someone's opinion invalidated before I even got to the content of the original post. In all seriousness, I didn't read past the title. Go back to Call of Duty.

Why are people against playing with their friends? It would draw attention to some new players, and even some hardcoe fans who would like to play with their friends. It would work great since you can even heal others.
