As the series stands I feel like it could support Multiplayer. I often found myself in massive spaces that were completely empty. I feel like this void could be filled with people.
I also feel like it has the appeal and abundance in items to make a fairly decent MMO game, but it isn't something i'd look forward to.
Yes, a fantasy-based MMO. Haven't seen a lot of those.
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, NWN 1 and 2 have multiplay. Are they alienating the older gamers? Nope. It's the newer gamers who thought they are old school that they are alienating.
JE, KotOR and ME were the only products they didn't include multiplay mode. I don't remember if MDK series has multiplay, but if you are against multiplay, sorry you are a newb to Bioware.
Should be noted that the only game in Bioware's library where multiplayer played a big role was Neverwinter Nights. And truth be told, that product was all about the modding tools; the campaign that came with it was more of a demo of what they could do. In Baldur's Gate, the multiplayer was nowhere near in depth, and was treated as more of a novelty to fool around and not what any notable part of the game was ever designed around.
