Dwemer abuducted by aliens

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 11:55 am

Ergh, I thought the Falmers wiped them out. Last trace of them probably have been digested and turned to Falmer droppings in the Blackreach.

The Falmer did not wipe out the Dwemer! The Dwemer were superior to them, enslaved them, tortured them not the other way around. Also the Falmer were just in Skyrim the Dwemer were in Morrowind, Skyrim, Hammerfell and High Rock. Primarily in Morrowind though.

I always thought the dwemer themelves might have been alien. Due to their highly advanced technology. Or that they at least ascended to such a high level of technological capability that they left the planet of Nirn and explored the realm outside of it.

Technically, they are. If you read the myth on it, ALL Mer (and possibly men) were from another plane(t) and were dumped/tricked on to/into Nirn. Some escaped but the Altmer in particular miss how things were and want to go back. That's why they are such pompus snots to people who have an opinion about Nirn being the place to be.

As it turns out, (After taking over mother-ship zeta) the lone wanderer used a portal to fly to Nirn and kidnap all the dwewer. He plans to use their knowledge to repair the broken death-ray and destroy all of Nirn! Despite their best efforts, the gods can not breach the ship. In a big moot where all the gods participated it is decided that they need a mortal hero! It always worked before, right?

And thus you are called upon to defeat this evil and rescue the dwewer! Prepare to board the ship, using alien guns to annihilate the invaders! Prepare for... Mothership zeta: Skyrim edition!

yea...

All Mer descended from the Ehlnofey

No they weren't.
Their myth's state that their descendant from immortal beings whom were cast onto Nirn at the start of the current Kalpa.

What you're saying is akin to saying Humans on Earth are Alien's because some people are of the belief that we're made in a "god's" image.

It depends on how you interpret it.

A large fragment of the Ehlnofey world landed on Nirn relatively intact, and the Ehlnofey living there were the ancestors of the Mer.
I doubt this literally means a planet crashing, but it is easy to misconstrue.

I think it is a lot like Raymond E. Feists concept of the elves (or edhel).

I always interpreted the "crashing of worlds" to be the separation of the pyandea(sp?) super continent.

The Dwemer managed to read the elder scrolls, realized all of existence is just a dream of the godhead and thus erased themselves from existence.

It's as simple as that.

Care to elaborate as to what made you facepalm at that?
CHIM is probably the only reasonable explanation for their disappearance while staying true to TES lore.

The Dwemer did not achieve CHIM. Their disappearance has already been explained right here in this thread... Just read through the previous posts.

Or what if the Dwemer were just wiped out by a race of sentient machines, who will come back for all of us eventually!!!

Our only hope is sheep herding imperial from the colonies

But the explanation on page 2 is exactly the same as mine, I just summarized it.

there are a few theories I have

1. Terminator theory (their machines overthrew the masters) but it doesnt explain there are no bones ect
2. All the dwermer dug so deep and closed the entrance behind them
3. The dwermer took on the planes of Oblivion seeking power and lost against the deadric princes (because then it would account for having no traces of bodies)
and the princes swore not to talk about this war because it could question them as deities

I was talking about the post I quoted below, it does not deal with CHIM but gives the answer to the question.

The other planets in the solar system are the gods.
This is a mythical universe, a geocentric one too, with Nirn in the middle.
Everything circles around Nirn. The Sun is a hole in the sky through which magic enters the world.
The stars are smaller holes to that magical realm of Aetherius, they are all at the same distance from Nirn and some seem bigger not because they are closer, but because they are bigger holes.
The moons are the body of a dead god.
Beyond the Mundus lies Oblivion and that is what you look into when you look up at night.

Sorry, there are no aliens.
There are a whole lot of gods though, and there even is space travel. By Imperial mananaut, Altmeri Sunbird, or if youre a Khajiit, by climbing.

The Dwemer uncreated themselves, or rather, Kagrenac uncreated the Dwemer unto Numidium.
They became its golden skin between the mundane and the divine, in an attempt to escape the Doom Drum and return to the first brush stroke of Anu and Padomay.
They became part of a big giant stompy robot, and that blew up. Twice.

If Arniel's experiment is anything to go by, the Dwemer are probably living in a different plane. Kind of like a parallel universe.
From the looks of it, it looked like he died........... That and in Morrowind you would find ash piles of where the Dwemer were standing before they 'vanished' with Dwemer armor and other stuff amongst the ash piles... But who knows =p

Or those ash piles were of Dwemer that died earlier. You can also find Dwemer ghost, but it's likely that they died before the big poof as well.

No, they were absorbed by the Numidium and then exploded.
There was no enlightenment, there was no spiritual existance for the whole race. Kagrenac(sp?) used his tools to manipulate the heart and the whole race got svcked into his giant stampy robot.

The did it in an attempt to return to devinity - as it was their belief that they had once been a single devine entity that had multiplied in order to survive. With each multiplication (generation) they got further and further from their devinity.
Thus the idea behind the giant stampy robot.

I have an interesting theory/idea for the dwarven lore or (hopefully) DLC. My theory on the Dwarves is that they were infact abducted by aliens together as a race. Nirn isn't the only planet in the solar system, so its possible that there is life on other worlds. The aliens would have recognized that the Dwarves were WAY ahead of all the other races in terms of technology and science and should live with the aliens. I know this sounds crazy, but I personally think this would make an awesome DLC where the Dragonborn manages to find this information out and go to the alien-dwemer civilization. I know it sounds a lot like Mothership Zeta, but wouldn't it be awesome to finally uncover the dwemer mystery???

No.

Don't ever apply for a writing position at BGS.
You, clearly, lack the talent.

I'm sure you're great at whaever stuff you do professionally, though.

yes so the only way there going to come back is the retrieval of kagrenac's tools and some very powerful object or being to bring them back for the reason of maybe a third wheel another great battle between the aldmeri dominion and the empire?

They be gone. They aren't coming back, given what we know now that would be entirely impossible. The dwemer are for lack of a better word dead, and no matter how powerful the Necromancer this isn't going to change.
