Just in case you spend as much time here and avoid "traditional media" as much as I do so may miss it...

Batten down the hatches, back up the hard drives... Leydenne: hide Scout. Bethesda: stop the dragon shouts... they're working too well.

All the best.

It probably won't hit DC but I can bet that we're going to have some crazy thunderstorms.

EASTERN North Carolina. I was worried for a second. Of course, I'm not that far off from it. We'll probably get a storm or something.

Wait a minute. Simpson. Where are you!?

Last time a bad hurricane came along the east coast we managed to get the backlash from in in Kentucky with some NASTY windstorms and a some thunderstorms. Hope everyone doesn't evacuate their homes hangs in just fine.

Ugh, I will probably get it when it is a mid-high level of threat.

I'm always glad for some nice storms. I don't suppose we'll get it too bad, despite being NC neighbors.

Oh fun, I'll be watching for flying cats and dogs.

I'm not really all that worried, even though I live on the Atlantic. http://i.imgur.com/2Qumr.png

I've been watching the weather channel and the east coast is in big trouble. They say a storm hasn't taken this track in over 100 years.NJ just declared a state of emergency.I'm in Allentown and things aren't looking good for us.

This is why I like living in Britain, none of our weather tries overtly to kill us. Then again we live next to France so it's swings and roundabouts really.

Ugh don't remind me, dumb hurricane's going to pass right by my house, well not directly but it'll probably be 40 miles away if not closer. It couldn't stay out to sea and weaken like they usually do, no this one has to be stubborn.

Actually, now that I think about it, it doesn't rain much down here either...

Consider that stereotype abolished!

I'm in Kentucky, on the east side but I think I'm well enough inland. Unless it can get past those Apalachian Mountains and hilly areas, and down the valley.:P
The worst to get is a few windstorms and long brooding thunderstorms.

Yeah I think I'm good. Good luck to you port cities.

Now tornadoes? Well were past April so I'm not to worried yet.....

more fear mongering from the media. they are acting like the east coast has no weather pattern what-so-ever.

people. the east coast experiences; earthquakes, hurricanes and the occasional tornado. its just not as frequent as other areas. i'm not saying this current storm is going to be bad. but remember, as it makes landfall it will weaken.

i'm in jersey, nw jersey. i'm closer to upstate ny an pa and the only thing i'm going to do is go get a few gallons of gas for my generators. because i have jcp&l (jersey central power and light), they svck and i expect the power to go out at some point this weekend and not come back on. 10 gallons will last me 2 days. so, if i lose power saturday i'll be good for at least until monday.

Yeah, the media is great at that. Ever notice how every winter the media proclaims that it's the worst winter in a decade/century/recorded history?

If it is as bad as predicted I guess we will see just how many buildings actually had undetected damage from the quake. I live near Baltimore so I guess I'll find out soon enough.

I know. Poor Scout is acting all weird... and I was supposed to head up to the Jersey shore this weekend for a couple days. Now I don't know what to do.

Stupid weather. :stare:
