it takes me a long time to play the main game, because there is a lot to d besides the quests, but in the dlc's there isn't much to do except for the quests, the pitt had some decent exploring so i do take my time a bit with the pitt, but PL didn't have much to do except for the quests, in the base game its fun to go in a building like the capitol building, the roosovelt academy or the chryslus building and set traps for mutans and battle them, or to hunt down enclave or something, there's more to do besides the quests in the base game, its not a matter of rushing through the game, unless you like swimming around in the water or killing ghouls and hillbillies, they weren't even fun enemies to fight, they were just bullet sponges, so PL svcked and they should of put some towns there, they could of made the boardwalk area an actual settlement, after all lady panada is there. it makes no sense she's there, she has a store just for one person to buy stuff, thats stupid, that location needed some people in it for one, and they could of left out the ocean and put in some towns and settlements and put some old factories there, maybe an airport, or some industrial area, didn't you notice, there a ferris wheel and a bank, well there should be sign of civilation at one time, but there's not hardly anything.
Why wouldnt Panada be there selling supplies? Didnt you talk to Tobar? He basically tells you he ferrys people from the DC area to Point Lookout, now why would it be so hard to belive that Panada is selling supplies to travelers that are entering and leaving Point Lookout?
Just like Hailey`s hardware, if the boardwalk supply shop is pointless then so is his hardware shop even though he states that he trades with the swampfolk as he put it.
Either way doesnt matter to me, because I only care about the cost of the expansion/dlc. I mean why would I spend $100 for a game and all its DLC`s when I could have put that $100 to one of the guns I want on my list. I would get a hell of alot more use and have a hell of alot more fun with that than with the game. It all comes down to cost vs worth, are the DLC`s thats released worth the cost, ar the expansions worth the cost. That was a major reason why I went and got the GOTY edition for FO3 because it came with all DLC`s at no extra cost compared to spending the same exact price for FO3 non GOTY edition that walmart was still carrying.
As far as the buildings goes, sure point lookout could have used more buildings and a deeper story line to find out what really happened there. I did personally love the quest of the chinese agent, gave us some insite into the "past" but not much. The destoryed homes were pretty much useless seeing as everyone I explored didnt have any noticeable loot or anything to find in the ruins. Black Hall Manor was okay but considering the excellent shape it was in I kinda expected to see a few well preserved prewar books which btw I didnt even find one. Now the plane crash that I stumbled across that was nicely done considering you could get the black box recorder and get the recording. The bank was nice as well, just wished there was an ability to open all those lock boxes even if they had nothing in them. Only thing that was real disapointing was the detention center up north. There just wasnt much to it and I kind of expected more. I mean the only things you had was 6 or so shacks for the detainees and one main building which was offices and a basemant under it which was an autopsy room. Aside from that I felt there should have been more such as more areas for the soldiers that were obviously incharge of the place at one time.
On the part about needeing to see civilization, there is signs of civilization but tobar said its an ancient pleasure town and most of the time pleasure towns are on the small side which relies on their income from outsiders that visit the boardwalk.
But I dont see where it matters, on wiki the other day an article was posted that obsidian is making the DLC and that it will release very shortly after the main game does. For those that would say state my source this is the link here.
