Holy [censored].

5 million copies already? That is a lot more than I would have expected from this type of game. But, this game deserves those sells. It is an amazing game.

This is great news! It means the Fallout franchise has a long, healthy life in front of it. We can expect to see lots of DLC for New Vegas more sequels for years to come. :fallout:

That article states that they SHIPPED 5 million copies, not sold. Huge difference.

Amount of copies SHIPPED and amount of copies SOLD are two totally different things.

I do believe that FONV sold very well but still...

For them to ship that many suggests that sales have been brisk. A re-order can only occur if previous stocks are about to be cleared.

It certainly is an impressive amount of games sold, that along with the announcement that there have been "substantial reorders" makes future game announcements even more exciting - as someone said, FO4 and TES V.

How many were Collectors editions? think of the money they could have made if they actually supplied enough of them to the people that pre-ordered.

How is the new engine coming? Is the new engine coming? I cant imagine playing fo4 or tes V on the same oblivion engine. Please take your sweet sweet time, I want the most polished product even if it takes years and years. To release another product as buggy as New Vegas, which is an amazing game without the bugs probably game of the year, would just be a shame. O and any news on console patch release date? im still getting quest breakers and game crashes....

How they sold more after release is beyond me. The game critics [censored] all over it because of these issues we've already had to deal with. Another example of Adam Smith's warning about crooked businesses being rewarded for screwing their customers...

This should mean that we'll see more Fallouts :foodndrink:. I hope it doesn't mean that we'll see more bug-infested games in the future though :brokencomputer:

I am concerned about that too, I know a bunch of people who i told them specifically not to buy it until a comprehensive patch comes out. As soon as the patch comes out im sure they will purchase. im hoping for this week, otherwise, prob gonna put the game down till it does (if i can). Already had to work around killing caleb, froze my game like 15 times before I completed it w/o the black screen thru some ingenious debugging of my own. Still the game is excellent. i dream about it, the story the people. I think i might feel very differently if my save file corrupts tho, which is why I havent recommended to anyone despite it being one of my favorite games ive played in years. There are many many minor bugs too, like i told rex to go to the lucky 38 and he wasnt there, i thought to check with the king and he was thre just saying thats def not where I told him to go. Just wish I didnt feel like I was beta testing. GIVE ME THE GAME OF THE YEAR PATCH! If you guys succeed, this patch will go down in history as the greatest patch of all time. :) or how do I say most necessary of all time...

shoulda had a sticker on the front that said this game has not been tested fully and the user may experience major technical difficulties. its really inexcusable to make a game so great and yet so unplayable and buggy at times. PATCH ME ASAP!!!

And they still haven't released another patch...

But lets go ahead and get on the train for the DLC!

Have you SEEN the unofficial Oblivion patch? Put Fallout 3 aside, the user fixes for Oblivion probably total more than what they've actually done.
