I don't think it's possible to have a favorite album ever... Right now I'd probably say it's Angels and Airwaves' "Love PT 1 + 2". Great stuff by my favorite band ever.

It's definitely rare to find an album that I like entirely.. There's almost always a couple tracks or more that I'm not fond of

Arcade Fire - Funeral and Murmuure - ST are pretty close to perfect though imo.

Hard to say.

Lift Yer' Skinny Fists by gsy!be, probably. If not that, possibly Meddle by Pink Floyd, or Apostrophe by Frank Zappa.

It shifts, but gsy!be has been pretty unbeatable.

Tom Petty's solo album, Full Moon Fever. Easily the best I own.

Symbols, by KMFDM. I only say this because I've listened to that album more than anything else by KMFDM, and since they're my favorite/most respected band, I'm going with that.

This is a harder question than it seems.

I'm going to say http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Led_Zeppelin_IV. You almost can't be a Tolkien fan and not love that album. I mean "Misty Mountain Hop" is a blatant reference, as blatant as the mention of Mordor and Gollum in the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=uKVp-atyiVA#t=175s. Stairway To Heaven (my #1 favorite song ever) has Tolkien references, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=_BjiRKBC05c#t=176s mentions Ringwraiths.

(both links are fast forwarded to the Tolkien references for those unfamiliar with the songs but want to hear what I'm talking about)

Honorable mention goes to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Moody Blues' "Days Of Future Passed"

and this:

An interesting note is which of the band members were Tolkien fans. We know for a fact that Robert Plant was, he not only wrote the lyrics but named his dog Strider. Many people assume that Jimmy Page was as well. And with his interest in magic and mythology its not too hard to believe that. There is, however, no evidence that the other two members of the band were Tolkien fans.

Robert Plant is beyond awesome.

Changes quite a bit for me, but usually it's one of the following:

Moonsorrow - Veris?keet
Judas Priest - Painkiller
Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle-Earth

At this moment it's Painkiller.

Iron Maiden - Fear of The Dark
Avenged Sevenfold - Avenged Sevenfold
Disturbed - Down With The Sickness
Disturbed - Asylum

Possibly in that order

Noooo, noooo! That is ... wrong! For KMFDM, it has to be Nihil! Although I just used to have one cassette with Nihil on one side and Xtort on the other, and just play them continually on repeat, so I barely distinguish between them. Although Symbols is great, it's a huge step down from that apex.

"Dark Side of the Moon" - - by Pink Floyd

Yeah, I'm going to go with that myself. It's one of the very few albums that could truly be described as "flawless".

My "runners up" would include NAIL by Foetus, Pandemonium by Killing Joke, OK Computer by Radiohead and Screamadelica by Primal Scream - again, all records that could reasonably be described as "as perfect as music gets".

Tough question. I usually have a 'favourite of the week' but then I find myself coming back to the same five or so albums that are my desert island discs I suppose. If I had to pick one though, probably the album I've listened to most out of anything, it'd be Aja by Steely Dan.

Or Aladdin Sane by David Bowie. Hard to choose :hehe:

Tricky one; I guess in terms of the sheer number of plays, probably Stereolab's Margerine Eclipse. Not something I would've necessarily chosen in terms of it standing out for any especially significant or exciting reason other than I like it, I suppose...

See, sensible choices. Picking something by Arcade Fire as your all-time favourite album just makes me want to weep. :P

Hm, tied between a few albums:

Nevermore, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0wMTLfnnvc

Queensr?che, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uay9kHOz5H4

Iced Earth, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LrGSIYAn9c&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLFED581FCCB7E585E

Every Iron Maiden album ever.

Maiden is not only an overrated band, but they made quite a few absolute bowsers of albums as well. Remember Virtual XI, Dance of Death and so forth. Junk.

Symbolic-Death

Definitely the best Death album out there, absolutely. Every track on that album is sheer brilliance.

Rush
2112

A seminal work of music from three virtuosos.
An album that gets played in my household at least once a week since 1976.

Do yourself a favor...
