I use the Dawnbreaker and like it. Whats your favorite sword and where did you find it

For looks, the Nightingale Sword is the runaway winner. Unfortunately, it's not affected by any smithing perks.

if you get the first level sword, that one can be upgraded, its a bug with the highest level one.

I like the Nightingale sword too, and also Dragonsbane.

The Blades Sword (and Dragonbane) is probably my favorite style. If we're counting daggers, Mehrunes' Razor is my favorite.

I use Dawnbreaker, I must vanquish all evil from the land.

Chillrend is a helluva weapon but it's overpowered. Any melee weapon with paralysis pretty much wins any battle regardless of player level or skill. Throw in a second effect like frost or fire and it's all over but the choppin'.

I favor the ebony swords I enchant if for no other reason than because I made them. Usually it's fire, which when compared to all other effects is the best.

Daedric Two-handed sword (named Dragonslayer) smithed to legendary, Frost 43 pts, Shock 43 pts. The sword with the best look may be Dawnbreaker. I have a second hunting sword -- an Ebony two-hander with 43 points Shock and Fiery soul trap on it which I use to fill soul gems. Typically I can kill with one hit with either for all but the most powerful opponents.

I would like the game to allow me to smith any shape of weapon (elven, dwarven, ebony, daedric, draugr, whatever) but make it out of any material I like. I could then use the materials I have to make the weapon that looks good without any play balance issues. I'd probably use the Ebony two-hander for looks (or the Draugr hero sword) and Daedric materials (ebony and daedra heart). I'm watching a youtuber who uses an Elven two hander too and that sword looks a lot better being swung around than I thought from the static picture. It would be interesting looking in black.

Nightingale Blade and Dawnbreaker for me.

A Nord Hero Greatsword for a two hander and Dawnbreaker for a sword and board/Spellsword.

A Daedric Sword... not necessarily enchanted, but it's well worth the wait and it looks good.

using chillrend with a mage follower gives you a lot of funny moments. paralyze proc + dead + random fireball up the ass = pingpong-bug in closed rooms very funny the first time you see it

also like dawnbreaker. needs better stats though. think there is a mod, but also heard they get overpowered this way.

in an unmodded world, i sadly have to say, i prefer the daedric sword over all.

Windshear! The stagger on this thing may be OP, but boy has it saved my ass when fighting AD's.

Chillrend is my favorite so far, I dont remember how I obtained it, but I got it rather early on in my first play through, probably before level 15 or 20, Haven't got dawnbreaker yet, and Im sure theres a couple more I've missed.

I also like the Ebony Blade alot now, cuz its the only one that comes close to resembling Drizzt Do'Urdens blades.

I like Dawnbreaker best. It is awesome.

I like the dwemer swords. I like all things dwemer.

I like an ebony one-hand sword with Fiery Soul Trap and Drain Stam. I'm not fond of any of the "special" swords in the game.... or the armors either....

Blade of Woe. I dual wield from time to time and having pickpocketed the first Blade of Woe, I can have double the fun.

Dawnbreaker and Dragonsbane. I love the explosions... never know exactly when. Bounced myself off the wall once.

Dawnbreaker makes all the Draugr Deathlords run away faster than light. I actually had to chase one through half of a tomb in order to kill him, he looked crazily scared.
Dragonbane is amazingly powerful, helped me win half of my dragon fights, and the Chillrend is very cool, too.

Dawnbreaker... probably the most badass sword in the vanilla game. Just wielding it makes you feel like a badass anti-undead guy. Not to mention the awesome fear bomb effect when you strike an undead down. LOL it even affects draugr death lords.

Legendary daedric mace with no enchantments, which I've used it since I first forged it. Before that it was a simple Iron mace, never used any other weapons with my char.

Dragonbane. Katana's always rate highly in the visuals department and it's effect is cool.
I really love the Daedric set though, so any sword, and especially the daggers are awesome looking.

Dawnbreaker and Nightingale swords look really cool. I usu Smith my own though and for those: Daedric for a male character and Ebony for a female character.

The steel greatsword. One handed the ancient nord/nord hero sword.

The Imperial Sword and Steel Sword for one handed and the Skyforge Steel Greatsword for two handed fun
