Female dragons

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 10:56 am

Now I haven`t spent time around giants. I tend to avoid them all, so I never got close enough to see that there are no females.

This I find hugely strange. Why are they no female giants? Is it a patriarchial society and all the females live in a cave looking after the kids ? Come to think of it there are no giant children either....

Giants are stupid and illogical in this game I`ve just decided.

1. Deep throaty voice\roar. Typically masculine. I find their roar very masculine. Although there is a hint of feminine in there.
2. Very violent. Typically masculine.
3. Big. Typically masculine.
4. Ugly. A masculine sign.
5. Extremely dominant. A masculine trait.

1. What do you think female Dinosaurs sounded like? Like Mickey Mouse?
2. I know enough violent womans...
3. As posted above some female animals are larger then males. Best example the Black Widow.
4. Ahhh sure... That MUST be male...there are no ogly females
5. Females are dominant too if it comes to their territory

The Femalse are represented by the Mammoths ^^

Wrong, actually. In TES II: Daggerfall, there was a monster called a "Dragonling", and it was a baby dragon capable of breathing fire (Bastard's had alot of hitpoints/armor too). You could even learn the "Dragonish" language skill to pacify them. So Dragons obviously do reproduce if Dragonlings exist.

Hmmm, just read that in-game book, and it's still fishy. I don't think it was coincidence that Dragonlings could not only breathe fire, but could also speak.

Not wrong at all http://www.imperial-library.info/content/there-be-dragons Unless that's the book you are refering too, in which case never mind.

Regardless of what book you mentioned there are no male and there are no female dragons. They are eternal creatures that simply exist.

Steam should be Optional, not forced. It punishes the honest buyer. Change it, Bethesda.

Amen to that Blade Watcher.

Thanx. I felt strongly enough about it that it had to be a sig. Otherwise I`d be moaning about it 24\7. If anyone wishes they can take it up as part of their sig too. Maybe one day, Bethesda will be democratic about their use of Steam.

I'll add it to my sig momentarily. I dislike the tie in with steam largely because steam doesn't work/run without internet, even when i click run offline. Meaning no Skyrim.

Dragons are like frogs... they can change their six, in times of needs.

Imortality and genders just don't go together people. I mean, if dragons had genders, that would imply they reproduce. If they reproduce, since they are immortal, the world would eventually be nothing but dragons. Even if the "females" could only reproduce once every thousand years, after a few hundred million years, the whole world would be nothing but dragons, everywhere, with not an inch to move.

In the case of Dragons it doesn`t matter, they`ll try to kill you whatever six. It doesn`t matter to us. what? You gonna be nicer to one because its female?

This thread just goes to show why you should always post questions like this in the Lore forum, because the vast majority of the Skyrim General Discussion forum doesn't know what they're talking about.

Female dragons do exist. They're called Jills. They're essentially the angels of Akatosh.

The dragons we encounter in Skyrim are the faithful of Alduin, and are not Jills. They are all male.

This dragons are immortal creatures that have always been. The dragon population number is pretty much always in decline, each dragon that dies (by having it's soul absorbed) is -1, there is no possibility of a +1.
I wonder if that's actually true. Dragons can't breed and create offspring, but does that necessarily mean new dragons can't be created in some way? Tosh Raka became a dragon, as did Ysmir, so that's a +2...

Don't jills just take the form of a dragon instead of actually being one? And because they are basically spirit creature as in not on nirn how could you possibly say they have a six?

Listen to this guy, he's got it.

Also, there's a book in game which explains that no one has ever seen a dragon egg or a baby dragon, and in cases where such things are reported they turn out to be eggs or babies of something other than a dragon. Dragons, being natural residents of the outside of Time, don't need to get born.

That don't have to sound feminine to be female.

Well, they say they have a six. Or more accurately a gender. The daedra are spirits which also claim to have gender distinctions. six is not the only thing which determines gender.

My English is probably lacking here, but what exactly is the difference?

I smell a DLC where we fight a dragon at a word wall and after a very hard fight, we kill it only to reveal a dragon egg. Then we have to hatch it, feed it, and raise it as our own. The DLC will follow the adventures of the Dragonborn, here-to-after known as Mr. Mom, and his newly born dragon called Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Interesting view. What`s making you think this?

Dragons seem to me one of the most masculine creatures you can find. Let`s see why...

1. Deep throaty voice\roar. Typically masculine. I find their roar very masculine. Although there is a hint of feminine in there.
2. Very violent. Typically masculine.
3. Big. Typically masculine.
4. Ugly. A masculine sign.
5. Extremely dominant. A masculine trait.
Ever heard of the Angler Fish? The female has all of those traits & scientists though thhey all had a parasite on them, but it turned out to be the male. Just because they seem manly doesnt mean they are. :frog:

According to this, it isn't a dragon.

No, I'm not trying to be flip, I'd really like to read the source material that you got this information from. That is how you learn.

I'm not really seeing the problem here.

Most of the other races of Tamriel are divided into Male and Female.
Dragons are divided into Fire and Frost.

If it makes you feel any better... think of Fire dragons as male and Frost dragons as female... but honestly, I can't say as I ever gave it much thought.

Why? Did someone invoke Rule 34?
