Freakiest Moments in Skyrim for you

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 10:13 pm

For some reason every time I would fast travel anywhere in the vicinity of Whiterun the dead skeleton of Mirmulnir would ALWAYS be wherever I appeared at. It was rather strange, like it was stalking me in death. Eventually it showed up at the front gate of whiterun when I left the town, so I just sent it flying with a raise corpse or five and now it doesn't bother me anymore :D

I had to change my pants during the dark brotherhood questline when I had to hide inside the coffin. I've never jumped so high when I saw that b**** glow........

Well today, I was playing as my orc warrior. I'm travelling away from Solitude on a foresty path in the night, and was on this road for about 5 minutes. I'm enjoying the lovely scenery, the nice music, on my way to a cave for some reason or another. Suddenly, from nowhere, a dragon breathes fire at me very loudly directly from above. I nearly fell out of my chair, and my heart pounded just as fast as it does after my nightly cardio routines. There was absolutely no indications of a dragon, no distant roaring, no wings flapping, no music change, it was like the game spawned him on top of my head and struck when I was at my most peaceful state of mind.

Freakiest/biggest wtf moment ever.

A funny conversation i had with Hadvar after completing the Legion quest went something like this:

"So, you're dragonborn huh, whos the dragon? Your ma or your pa."

i literally laughed out loud. It was so unexpected.

Also, the freakiest moment would have to be where i was getting gang bashed by a Dragon Priest and a Blood Dragon. I nearly died lol

Biggest freaky moment? I was exploring some random dungeon,I just got out of a fairly heated battle with multiple high-tier draugrs and was half-asleep. I was walking through an area that was somewhat lit, but surrounded by shadows, when I hear this blood-curdling shriek and my controller vibrates. A skeever attacked me and it near scared the piss out of me.

Lol...I was scared more times by rats in TES games than anything else. Every time I turn around in some dark place one jumps at me and makes that horrid screeching sound. I nearly fall out of my chair every time.

When I woke up in the temple of Dibella and found out I was in Markarth, halfway across the map after getting drunk with Sanguine aka "Sam". That was one hell of a way to get sidetracked, considering I was actually looking for the redguard woman who turned out to be in the same building where I found Sam.
So I say to myself "might as well explore Markath while I'm at it!" Oooh what's this, two people arguing in front of an abandonned house....

On a lighter note:
Whiterun Guard: Is that...fur? coming out of your ears?
Me: Dude, haven't you ever seen a Khajiit before?

Funniest moment ever.

This thread is so full of win...

So after I finished the legion quest and took control of Windhelm I fast traveled to whiterun to learn a few more spells.... Well it turns out one of the legion soldiers (I forget his name, but he was in heavy armor and had a distinct name) traveled with me and started following me everywhere I went. I was all excited thinking I found a glitch that let me have multiple companions. So while we were roaming around whiterun I got a little close to a giant's camp. The legion guy runs up to the giant, kills it in one hit and then proceeds to walk away westwards like a complete badass and leaves me and Lydia behind.

I just stood there for a moment thinking w....t....f...? Then went on my merry way. :ermm:

I was fighting a dragon near Peryites shrine. Let's just say in the middle of the fight, it flew upwards..while facing down like in a dive bomb. Flying upwards in a spiral, spitting fire the entire time, then disappeared for a little while. Swooped down a little ways away, though.

Every time I am in the DEPTH of some very huge, deep, dangerous dungeon, open some MASTER lock chest, only to find 20 gold and a health potion! THAT was freaky! :flamethrower:

An ice spike stuck into my characters groin. That was when I finally freaked out and cursed all human mages in Skyrim.

Hm. Walking up to Lydia after some big fight, an arrow sticking out of her eye and she acts like nothing happened. That was fun.

Also, when I went diving, that fox that walked the ground of the sea like it would walk the forest ground. Made me snigger :D

Over a big hill i seen a dragon flying down and attacking something, ran closer and the amount of noise coming was unreal. It stopped just as i topped the hill. Dragon, mammoth, giant, bear, and a couple of wolves where dead....in the middle of it all coming toward me was a rabbit..lol teleported back to town just for safety. Now i look at rabbits as the evil masterminds they are.

I was doing a miscellaneous quest and came across a hagraven in a cage who claimed another hagraven stole her tower and locker her in the cage. I decided to help her and it was so creepy hearing her walk and breath. It sounded like she was squishing something everytime she took a step and her breathing sounded like Darth Vader without his helmet. It made me shudder more than a few times.

House of Horrors.

And a certain point in the DB questline where you have to hide in a coffin.

When I first played the game the part where Alduin was attacking Helgan and the mages, archers Tullius was in the opening(right before you choose who you want to go with) I stuck around for a minute or so and Alduin landed right in front of me then flipped his head around to face me and bit at me. scared the crap out of me, I still get a good jump every now and then when dragons do that to me lol

I've been playing videogames for 19 years and I walked into the first ambush I didn't see coming EVER in Skyrim yesterday. I was in the dungeon where you get the letter that directs you to the Blades and I saw a spider and a large spider in a nest. So I figure, hey, easy kills, pull out my bow, shoot them in the face, then proceed to stroll out the room. As I get to the exit I turn around and there is a giant spider on my ass having dropped down from the ceiling.

I also stumbled upon 2 spiders and a dead body in a location you can't actually get to without the console. I think they were suppose to detect you and then move in for the attack pushing the dead body over the edge to alert you as they came but their AI failed. It may seem useless but the detect NPCs shout can save you a lot of grief and reveal some interesting locations (if you remember to look UP too, speaking of, screw this game for hiding items and switches above ground level).
