My first creepy/wtf moment was one of the first moments in the entire game.

I was just given control of my character after Alduin appeared.
I was told to follow.
I ran into the tower and awaited instruction.
I ran up the staircase and BLAM!
Alduin crashed through the wall.
Something I was, honestly, not expecting.

The beginning of the Innocence Lost quest when you walk into the boy's house in Windhelm and hear the creepy child's chanting over and over again, then you see the circle of candles... *shudder*

Outside of the Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon, when those two spherical balls of purple energy come hurling towards you containing two of his minions...Maybe not for some of you, but it really surprised me and startled me.

That at when you have to hide in the Night Mother's coffin during the DB quest line.

That happened to me as well, some Altmer was in my house, looked at me and left, than...I beat my wife silly with a frozen chicken, then dragged her into a forest and disemboweled her with a wooden spoon in front of our children and Lydia......

I have two.

First was when I was in Whiterun around level 10 or so, hanging around Warmaiden's to advance my smithing. I needed to use the Grindstone, but Adrianne Avenicci was using it. I clicked on it, got her to move out of the way, and get to work. While I'm improving a blade I hear a female scream close by. I shrug it off as a glitch and finish upgrading my weapons. Get up, look around... Adrianne Avenicci is gone. Then a minute later I notice her dead in the little stream next to her shop. I guess she fell? It was eerie and random as hell. I got over it and posed her body in funny ways later though.

A while later i get a courier letter informing I was in her will, and get 100 gold. Her husband and father's scripts changed to accomodate her death. I suspect my forcing her from the grindstone caused her to stand someplace she couldn't, so she slipped and fell. Oops. BTW her husband started coming into work later and later after this, like he was just slacking off.

Second one was, I had Azura's Star empty, and wanted to fill it with a Grand Soul. So I come across two Mammoths and a Giant. My previous experience fighting same taught me not to confront them head on, so I got onto a pile of rocks where they couldn't reach me, and pelted them with arrows. Of course Lydia, being the dumb psycho that she is, ran right up to the mammoths and giant to fight them. Then the giant knocked her into the stratosphere. Oops! Forgot they did that. I was dreading searching for her corpse later when the sun came out(hey, I gave her some nice stuff!) when after ten minutes or so, and after I'd knocked off the giant and mammoths, she comes running up. I guess nothing kills her, except me when she stupidly gets in my way in a fight. But I just crack up at the idea of her flying into space, landing half a continent away, then running back after she recovers a bit of health.

I decided the NPC I want my character to marry with. She couldn't be engaged in a conversation but for some reasons it was obvious for me she was meant to be involved in a quest later. I ended suspecting the quest could be related to something the local folks were speaking about, but I couldn't find any way to make a NPC ask me to help there or start the quest by my own.

Finally, an event happen that started the quest: "blood on the ice". The NPC I was wanting to marry was Susanna the Wicked

entering my first hagraven nest and i heard the thing breathing behind a wall i was next to.... it was a....unique. experience to say the least

I've got these surround sound 5.1 headphones I could clearly hear this heavy, horrible sounding breathing through the wall to the right of me....
Then I walked a couple of metres towards a doorway in the cave and caused a magical glyph to explode extremely loudly underneath my feet out of nowhere, I jumped ay least a foot in the air off my bed, absolutely crapped my pants haha.

I was in a random cave killing things, on my way out, just before exiting a person appeared. It kind of startled me. Who was it? The Stormcloak messenger. For no reason at all, she just walked in and turned right around after she saw me and high tailed it. I wasn't even close to being to the point of needing to intercept her. I thought that was really weird.

going through alftand for the first time at like level 7, i ran passed the centurion just thinking it was some kind of statue, then right as i walk by, hear a loud noise and combat music is cued, i turn around and see the gigantic thing i thought was a fancy statue staring at me, then vaporizing me in 3 seconds.

Definitely first time entering a Dwemer ruin, and Blackreach. O_O

Lots of freaky moments for sure so far, after 52+ hours. The House of horrors was freaky, but my scariest moment was near Winterhold. I was walking on the path to the south east in very heavy snow and out of nothing a snow sabre cats attacks right in front me. Those monster cats are like ghosts in heavy snow, very hard to see!

Probably been mentioned but for me it was definitely being locked in a coffin with an ancient dead woman who ends up talking to you. I have stayed far away from that guild since then. Lol.

Was finally getting around to doing the main quest and was heading to the Thalmar embassy. Gave all my good gear to the guy to sneak in. Had previously unloaded all my secondary stuff so that I'd have plenty of stoarge space for loot. Wandered down to the agent who was going to sneak me in when a dragon attacked. I had no weapons and I don't play mages - it didn't end well.

Reloaded. Tried again. Thought that it must be a one-off and did went back to the agent. Agent tells me to get onto the wagon going to the embassy. There's a brief scriped moment when you loose control of your character - you get them back after someone talks to you, I think. Of course the dragon attacked again and the person who needed to speak to me to give me back control ran off to fight the dragon. I'm standing there, paralysed in party clothing watching helplessly as a dragon slowly picked apart its attackers and then worked its way to me...


Regarding a previous poster, the DB quest (the one with the coffin that has been a little spoiled above) starts when you investigate Aventus Aretino in Windhelm - it'll be on your miscellaneous quest list.
House of horrors (another memorable quest) starts when exploring the streets of Markath and someone asks your help to investigate an abandoned house...

Walking along on my way from Windhelm to Dawnstar, I was beset upon by a pair of Elder Dragons, Frost and Fire. Luckily I had just finished getting top marks in smithing and enchanting. Through foresight, determination, and luck, I eventually prevailed. Though I, Llwaran Kirunin, Wood Elf hunter and artificer, definitely knew I had just been in a fight.
