Friendly speculation: whats in 1.6?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 6:13 am

Since 1.5 is now in beta (to the joy of killmove enthusiasts and to the horror of modders everywhere, making them update to the next patch), I'd thought it'll be fun to speculate whats coming in a 1.6 patch. Just from the Game Jam video alone, there's more than enough material Bethesda can turn into free and paid DLC's and tons of other fixes they could patch.

So, I thought why not toss around some ideas here that Bethesda can watch and get their own ideas from and potentially push up fixes to be a priority for the next patch :D

Okay, some ground rules to keep it sane, and fun for all.

You can only have 1 MAJOR feature and up to 3 minor fixes in your post. A good example would be:

EXAMPLE:
Major: Verlet surfaces, moving cloth, maybe even HAIR!

minor: Fix for companions using bows, Letrush clone fix, better textures for certain weapons.

No more than this, so everyone can get a chance and it isnt a complete mess to read :)

Have fun speculating guys!

Major: House building! It'd probably be in DLC, but I can dream!
Minor: I agree with the companion bow thing, and also MQ bug fixes.

Major:

I want to see a proper pet shop.

Everything from bunnies in your house to wolves and frostbite spider companions.

Minor:

*Khajiit NPCs to marry*

*A simple Summon Skeleton spell or two*

*Fix the dozens of quest items that get stuck in your inventory*

Spears.
Excellent choice, I'd also love to see some staffs that aren't magical rocket launchers.

Hopefully we get spell creation and more spells.

Second I want my enemy and alchemy respawns fixed. I would also like weapons and shields clean up properly, can anybody tell me if 1.5 addresses this?

Major: Fat giants :P

Minor: The stupid bug with all those stupid skinny giants, I hate those.

In all seriousness I would like to see house or even town building but that is far from being able to implement now. I would also like spears even though I have never played Morrowind (I will someday) as I hear spears are epic.

This.
I hate having to pick locks it's tedious at best, especially with those fragile picks. At least in fallout the bobby pins lasted longer.

Not to mention that this "odd" design decision forces every character to use lockpicks. In Oblivion and Morrowind there were spells and scrolls for characters not versed into craking stuff open.

Thief>lockpick
Mage>Alteration spell
Pure warrior>Scroll

Major: A new inventory slot for all quest items so that they aren't in the way of your other gear. All those non-droppable items go in here, like those annoying Stones of Barenziah and other quest items.

Minor: 1. More spells (especially destruction)
2. Crossbows
3. Spears/Halberds

How bout some strapless's bra's for my ho's of skyrim? Some toe-nail clippers would also be nice, my toe-nails are growing out of my ebony boot and its quite painful. Maybe add a place to take a dump too, im tired of crapping on the Jarls porch.

That is an issue of mine mages should not be forced unto dealing with mundane tools because why they have the power to manipulate the lock open. With what you said above at the bottom of your post those were options and options are a good thing and they add treater roleplay value thus you have a greater replay value.

Major: House Building or Spell combinations - I can't decide which one I want more.

Minor/Bugs:

Fix Spell Absorption absorbing own summons

Fix Items picked up by followers being flagged as stolen

Fix Bard's College and Winterhold 'fetch' quests, so that they can be completed if the item is picked up prior to getting the quest.

Look they wrote at their blog:

Look familiar? The new kill cams were featured as a concept in the Game Jam sizzle shown during http://www.bethblog.com/2012/02/08/watch-todd-howards-dice-keynote-live-on-gamespot/. We plan on adding even more features with upcoming free updates and game add-on content.

It was their week of adding whatever they want into the game , the video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SE5owAIPmk&list=FLeFfVY3xSRiN05PCAO5Mc6Q&index=5&feature=plpp_video

So actually , A LOT of AWESOME things are possible I guess
