Future DLC Suggestions (Not Dawnguard) [merged similar topic

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 6:52 am

Anybody think there may be good chance of Bethesda releasing a Solstheim DLC in the future? With the new cultures and towns there, it may open up more exploration and questlines. And perhaps even add to Werewolves a bit, like Dawnguard is adding to Vampires. Could also be a good chance for Morrowind lovers to get back to the good old days.

I'm not saying Bethesda will be lazy, and make another Bloodmoon DLC. That's not what I'm talking about. The DLC could feature more on the Falmer, or even include a quest-line from any surviving Great Houses from Morrowind with stations in Solstheim. Maybe even some racial tension between the Nords and Dunmer, despite nords offering their hospitality.

I'm just daydreaming of course, but anybody feel like this could become reality?

I think a Solstheim/Morrowind-oriented expansion is very possible. The three biggest points, IMO, for Beth to explore since Oblivion are the Thalmor, the Mede Empire, and the state of Morrowind. Any of those three would make great content.

Wouldn't it be boring to play an expantion with landscape and visuals looking exactly like Skyrim?

With the Dunmer influence, I'm sure the Island adopts many Vvardenfell and Morrowind qualities. Could even be Cliff Racers.

I'm afraid Solstheim looks too similar to Skyrim. Plus we've already been there. I think it would be best if DLC's had different looking locations: Daedric realms, or some exotic locations. I would love to see some warmer locations for a change. Just played the Moonpath to Elsweyr mod and I was surprised how good the jungle/desert/tropical areas can look in Skyrim engine.

Someone actually WANTS them in a game? :o

I just think it would be awesome to choose drewmer as a race, and make those weird robotic things. Drewmer perk tree would be about making those robots and axe skills.

I would love to see some more magic options such as creating your own spells, crafting staffs, and alot more effects to play with.

For Solstheim, that's a good point, plus many people consider the frozen wastelands around Windhelm/Winterhold the less interesting part of the game. As for West Morrowind, if you look at the map of the western portion, Its landscape should be a mix between the Rift and the forests around Cheydinal area from Oblivion... A bit of change, for the better. :)

An entire province would require too much work... A piece of land as big as 2-3 holds seems doable.., That's why many people (including me) brought forth the idea of west Morrowind (the free portion still under imperial control and not destroyed by the eruption) or Orsinium

but I'd love to see the Winged Twilight return from morrowind... now with some "sixy" killmoves (the kiss of death), since it has always been the unofficial succubus of the elder scrolls  and it could also fly, now that we have full fly support :P

I don't know if expanding into Morrowind is such a good idea - there's so many fands of ES3 that any update of Morrowind runs the risk of deeply disappointing fan base expectations.

Why not expand to the West? If I remember right, that's towards Hammerfell and Orsinium. Between different societies and climates, the potential for interesting quests is extremely high.

Today's topic: Solstheim

Alot of people have been hoping that bethesda will bring back the return of Solstheim. This in my opinion will not happen for two reasons. 1) The terrain of Solstheim compared to Skyrim is just way too similar. It wouldn't feel like a "new" dlc to explore. Every dlc bethesda has released it was always in a new area with a whole "new feel" to it (dawnguard being an exception since it is still based in Skyrim). Yes Solstheim was definitely one of the most wonderful dlc packs everyone has experienced but they could instead make a whole new region with all new quests and story rather than worked on something they accomplished in the past. 2) We have already been there before. If I wanted to return to Solstheim I would just play morrowind on my pc. Its a region we have already been too in a previous game, again it wouldn't feel like an entirely new dlc especially with the fact that it was released as one of morrowind's expansion packs. Sure it could have a whole new story and brand new quests to deal with but exploring a previously released expansion pack that is similar to Skyrim's region in my opinion really wouldn't bring out the idea of an "All-new dlc".

Those are just my opinions anyway. What do you guys think on this subject?

Sorry, I haven't been on in a while so I have been following the posts here but know what I thought of? They should add unarmored and unarmed again. I miss that from Morrowind and with my one kahjit thief, I haven't really leveled any other combat skill and use a dagger forcefully. I find it kind of cool that there are hand to hand kill cams that were added but it doesn't mean much to me if all I can do is punch with a default attack. Also for my DE mage, he doesn't wear armor so I think that bringing unarmored skills back would help... Thoughts on unarmed and unarmored skill trees?

Solstheim is not likely unless the references we get in the game are done on purpose. I think it will look all to similar to the frozen wasteland aroun windhelm. A bit boring. On the other side, I'd rather have Solstheim than another twisted Oblivion mini plane.

I know. I guess I'm just a tiny bit bummed out because I was looking forward to a large landmass to explore after seven months. I'm sure this DLC will be outstanding. In fact, I can't think of one DLC from Bethesda that hasn't been good.

I would love to have the dwemer come back and be all like "wtf bruh." There're ruins everywhere and it'd be an interesting clash between falmer/dwemer/skyrimies. Think about the issue over Markath. Like the disturbance in the time continuum from SPOILER ALERT using the elder scroll would trigger something and bring them back from wherever they went. That would have to be the largest dlc.

My only and biggest gripe is the length of time it took for this one to come out. 7 months was far too long considering that there wasn't much mention of dlc packs besides "they're going to be big." I know alot of people that burned through this awesome game fast and then got rid of it (ps3/360). I know that you gotta log alot of time in to really enjoy it (my save is at 212 hours) but considering that new Call of Duty games come out every 12 months, 7 months for 1 dlc pack is just too much. People are impatient these days, I get angry if my Facebook newsfeed page takes more than 4 seconds to load, nevermind waiting around for Bethesda to pop out some extra content. The expansions need to come out like every 3 months or so. You PC users get to have all these mods and creation packs to have extra stuff to do from the community but us on the console side are getting kinda boned. I've maxed out all my skills (legit, no book cheating) and gotten all achievements and have done pretty much every quest other than the repeating missions or ones that've bugged from inventory issues. Made my god armor, found all locations, etc.

Another suggestion would be to work on tiny content too, like Courier's Stash and Gun Runners Arsenal for Fallout New Vegas. I dont mind paying 260 points or more every month for some small updates with some go fetch quests or extra stuff for my cribz yo. Bethesda, shamelessly exploit and use me baby, im willing to pay. #ImBrokebutWhoNeedsFood?

@Truth x360a... I agree with the fact that they take too long to come out with new content in comparison to other games but Ive played TES since the beginning and Ive come to be patient with them. They have yet to fail my expectations when it comes to DLC let alone the games themselves (with the exception of ESO, I have mixed feelings about that). I understand everyones different when it comes to time of releases but just have to try and keep cool right?

A "dead soulless realm" of oblivion sounds more exciting to me than another piece of land I've already been too.

I would love to see them bring back not just one or two new or long-time-no-see provances, but through a series of DLC, open up the entirety of tameral. Each one would have its own storyline, even a "eleder scrolls 6" That alows you to start a new charicter or use your old one, but it loads like a add on skyrim.
