Future DLC Suggestions (Not Dawnguard) [merged similar topic

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 8:49 am

@E Stone... That would be a lot of work and a lot of data to put on a single disk. As much as I would like to see TES:6 be an open world with previous content already in it, we have to wait for technology to catch up first to make something like that happen.

But going along with what you said, I had a few ideas of my own about something similar to this. Its not related to ESO but the idea I had was similar long before I knew they were doing an MMO, but what I had though of is what if they go further down the road (Say 500 years), Tamriel is in chaos because everyone is fighting for the seat of emperor and control of Cyrodiil. You pick your character and play through a main quest line in your provence to rise up to either a champion or king or whatever based off your actions and views towards the current government control. After that you attempt to remove your "opponents from the game" in whatever method suits your character, resulting in traveling from provence to provence in what ever order you wish. Ultimately it will lead you to taking down not only the Empire but also putting all of Tamriel in your control...

Thats just one idea I've had on that topic, Id be here typing all day if I wanted to bore everybody with the rest lol

I really hope that after Dawnguard is released, Bethesda will release smaller DLC until the next big DLC hits. That would be great. Other than that in terms of story content and such, it would be cool to have the big Thalmor vs whomever you chose to join Fight and the High Moot starting.

no, oh no no no. one slip into the moronic dlc slope and they won't be able to stop. much better solid releases, expansion packs. 4 of them is acceptable.
unless the items are extremely unique, like the Mythic Dawn Armor.

The entire game basically sets up the belief that the Aldmeri Dominion is really bad, and they're really powerful, and they're taking everything over. The Empire wants to stop them but couldn't stand up to them yet, so they made peace for a moment. The Stormcloaks hate them and want to rid them from Skyrim.

The game sets up an eventual showdown between the Empire/Nords against the Aldmeri Dominion. Do you think that we'll get the conflict started in later Skyrim DLC, where whichever side you helped win the Civil War will fight the Dominion? Or will Bethesda make the Dominion the primary enemy in the next game, say, set in the Summerset Isles?

The possible DLCs I think we will get will involve the Falmer and their increased activity on the surface, the Thalmor plans involving the destruction of existence (which involves the throat of the world I believe), and an explanation behind the Psijic Order and the Eye of Magnus history in ancient nord times.

If it's anything like how the Civil War questline played out, I'll pass.

Honestily I wouldn't be too excited for it.
Unless it takes me to Summerset and has a bunch of new content.. Than I don't really care for it.

I hope Dawnguard's joinable opposing factions with interesting questlines is a sign of things to come in future DLC.

It would be great if we end up with even more of these factions and branching path choices in the future. Certainly adds to the replay value.

I'd assume the Thalmor/Aldmeri Dominion will remain as the main antagonist for at least a normal expansion pack or a TES 6 rather than just some DLC. The outcome of the conflict is too important and thus deserves a lot more attention than a DLC pack would bring.

yea the game makes it seem like they are powerful but in fact they are slightlly stonger than the empire. and the empire at the time is just high rock and cyrodil. blackmarsh controls morowind and hammerfell foguth the aldemeria dominion and kicked them out of hammerfell. the aldemeria dominion is just highelves bosmer and khajits although bosmer and khajit were forced into the pact and deeply hate the thalmor and high leves. so in fact its basically even ground. the empire is just trying to get resources built up. will their be DLC involving defeating the aldemeri dominion im not sure but i hope so. it would be a very expansive DLC to boot.

I think that the whole Thalmor/Collapse of the Empire theme will definitely be in a DLC in the future, if not stretching into the next game.

It's too large and complex of a plot line to be handled either too quickly, or over too short of a timeline. This is something that's going to take much time to sort out.

I think that's kind of a big deal that they'll save for tes 6. I hope they do because Beth still can't do big events very well. Skyrim was better than Oblivion - Battle for Bruma vs Battle for Whiterun, but they still can't do massive armies on screen at once. Maybe next gen...

I'm predicting the next Elder Scrolls game to be about the Thalmor vs. Empire war.

To make it clear: I don't mean we'll deal with the Dominion as in end them in TESV: Skyrim. I think we should have a DLC dealing with getting them out of Skyrim.

The next game, most likely set in the SS Isles, will likely deal with ending the evil reign of the Dominion.

Yeah, maybe TESVI:Thalmor, or Summerset Isles, where the last of the Blades are hiding right under the Dominion's noses and the MQ is a espionage and subtlety pot of sabotage that eventually lead to their downfall.

I think it's an idea right for DLC considering how little the Thalmor actually play into Skyrim.

Pretty much, though I will disagree on some points:

1) Black Marsh doesn't control Morrowind. The Argonians left Morrowind after going on a rampage of slaughter against an already devastated foe. The Dunmer are currently rebuilding their Kingdom on the Island of Solstheim. The Dunmer were never really a fan of the Empire, and seeing as how the Empire didn't help them a bit during their greatest time of need, I can see Morrowind seceding from the Empire formally sometime soon. And frankly, the Empire is much too weak to stop them.

2) Hammerfell is its own sovereign Kingdom now. The Empire was going to cede about half of it to the Aldmeri Dominion in the White Gold Concordat, but the Redguard's (for good reason) didn't like this and continued to fight. The Empire told them to lay down their arms or be kicked out of the Empire to fend for themselves (stupid decision by the Empire...), and so Hammerfell effectively gave the Empire the "finger" and seceded from the Empire by continuing to fight. They soundly defeated the Thalmor, and drove them completely out of Hammerfell.

3) Yes, the Bosmer and the Khajiit are apart of the Aldmeri Dominion, but only about half of Valenwood was taken by the Thalmor. The Kingdom was effectively cut in half with the other half actively resisting the Dominion and the Thalmor at every turn. Elsweyr was forced into the Dominion by the Great Mane being assassinated and thus lack of leadership, but the Khajiit are very wily and crafty. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Khajiit were just playing along until the opportunity came around to seriously [censored] over the Thalmor.

The Thalmor are doomed by their own actions, and they've spread themselves much too thin to be able to defend the territory that they have captured. They've taken far too many losses in their small, small victory over the Empire, and just like the majority of the German populace weren't Nazi's in WWII, the majority of the populace of the Dominion are not members of the Thalmor.

It's only a matter of time before the Thalmor are destroyed by their own ambitions.

Yeah, probably just a final plot to attack and kill Elenwin with the aid of the victor of the Civil War (with Tullius's help obviously being much more subtle and unnoticable, but still help).

I'm hoping it's valenwood. Like as the aldmeri dominion is fighting another war with the empire, as an outlying aldmeri controlled province, which supposedly was not fully co-operative in the join. If it was summerset isles then they would most likely all be pro-thalmor or at least pro-aldmeri dominion so it would be sort of hard to get an objective view on the outcome. In the same way skyrim is an outlying province and gives the option to break away from its respective empire.

The Redguards already kicked the Thalmor out of Hammerfell. See my post above.

I was thinking that too. We could probably be sent to a small portion of Hammerfell in order to negotiate and alliance with the Stormcloaks or try to convince them to help the Empire in order to stop the Dominion. But obvioulsy with Thalmor agents trying to stop you and you having to fight them at every turn.
