Except this isn't true, since "ghoulification" has no medical reality to establish what kind of mutations do or do not happen to the victim you have no basis to judge if they were able to procreate what their offspring would be. To use your burn victim anology, I never heard of a burn victim sudenly able to live twice as long because they are burned so clearly whatever happens during ghoulification the process is unatural and what is unatural cannot be explained by common understanding. A 200 year old ghoul is no longer a human therfore the rules of what is human do not apply should the IP controler choose.
As you've said, "if they were able"...
**And that was not my anology, that is a separate anology using burn victims. The lifespan aspect doesn't matter, what matters is that they are sterile ~like mules; their changes cannot be passed on. Ghouls are not a species.
See to me I wouldn't call one change to background fluff a drastic change, its all about how you think. A drastic change to me would be to swap the period from the 50's to the 80's that would be drastic. As to why Bethesda bought the Fallout IP rather then just invent their own, brand is a powerfull thing, the Fallout name is important and as I already said, changing one or two small aspects of the lore is not going to stop it being Fallout for the vast majority of the gamers.
The vast majority couldn't tell
See to me I wouldn't call a three armed robot with a buzzsaw, and a laser gun "Mr. Handy", when (according to the series) Mr. Handy is a six armed robot with a lot of hands; (and two large turbine engines). This to me is a rather drastic change. (As is the noticeably different combat mechanics

).
I just find it amusing how people can feel so much hate towards someone suggesting more flexibility in an IP in the interest of making the options or story in a game more engaging for more players. As if what I or somebody else says is somehow a risk that the developers might latch on to if it isn't ridiculed and hated upon with as much venom and scorn as humanly possible.
I have not called your view point "hate towards someone suggesting more solidarity, now have I? (in the interest of making the options or story in the game more in line with the series). Please be kind enough not to falsely label my personal point of view; this is a friendly forum, and the while debate is fun, its supposed to be lighthearted.
