I wouldnt mind being able to 'become' other races, as long as it was reflected very well in game.
IIRC in Fallout 1 continued play after becoming a Super Mutant was considered, but was never gone through with due to too much work needed to actually make it play well.
:sigh:
Such a shame they had to mess with the Lore like that.
Not only that, but don't all [ALL] ghouls in the first two games come from Vault 12? ~and the expression/joke, "there are only old ghouls" (because ghouls are sterile, and they all come from the war event).
This is my snag with a PC ghoul; I can't imagine a level 1 ghoul in the Fallout setting after 200 years.
Bethesda's retconning the lore changes this, but it does not change the developed opinion of ghouls that the series player gains from the first two games.
Vat transformation could work, and does work fast (as seen in the FO1 VAT cinematic). It has been said that Tim Cain would (possibly) have allowed the PC to finish the game as a supermutant had they been dipped; but the money for that was not an option.
