Glad I'm waiting for the better title

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 2:32 pm

I've been taking note of all of the MW3 players who bought it today, and I'm happy to say that I now know waiting for Skyrim is going to pay off. Obviously, some people are going to buy both. But I feel like I'm speaking for myself and the rest of the 99% when I say that since I was strapped on cash, I'm glad I waited for the better title to come out rather than be a conforming CoD prosttute.
I can't wait until I'm splitting the skull of a dragon. Sure is going to beat shooting the same gun for the 8th time in a different place.

For me playing an FPS game online is out of the question, because my internet isn't the best. I can't even play Starcraft 2 properly. So that means if I buy something like an FPS, it'll be just for the campaign. And that is not good value for money and is not fun.

Meditate in solace, brethren. For there will be another day to fight... GotY will belong to Skyrim. Sledgehammer will go down in infamy for making a shoddy game while Skyrim sits atop the throne.
But for now, let them talk about MW3. There ignorance cannot be avoided, but there is nothing you can do.

Conforming isn't always a bad thing. Otherwise we would have chaos. But more on point is that you made a wise decision. MW3 may be more accessible to new gamers, but TES is a thinkin mans/womans series.
Plus MW3 is MW2 but with a few new perks. I've even heard that the menus are the same.

Also, freezing in Arizona? Come up Detroit ways and we'll show ya cold.

I bought MW3 just to kill the time for the last 2 days. I've always been a fan of the story but the gameplay/graphics etc do feel old and outdated. And repetitive.

CoD looks like crap to me lad, after the second one it was just.. awful. I don't think it's even a choice, people just bandwagon the game. That's why it's so popular. Nexon has a better online FPS that I play called Combat Arms. Much more mature community, and way more stuff. And free.

But yea, it's defiantly better to be patient then reckless. ^^

There is no comparison. The annual over-glorified COD map pack VS ... Skyrim...

Pffft when I went to school nobody was gaming. All those awesome Battletech adventures lost in time. Like tears in the rain.

CoD4 was greatness (the last good Call of Duty).
I'm not 100% sure I agree with Combat Arms though...the game engine is definitely not as sharp and the game's free-to-play nature makes the entire thing unbalanced as hell. Of course this is all IMO.

An unfortunate situation you're in, the majority of CoD players take the tact out of tactics (not like in BF3).

ah if only uncharted came to 360. I would enjoy them. Arkham city will wait until it hits the bargain bin for me. Skyrim will keep me thoroughly occupied. I don't even plan on being done playing it by february when Kingdoms of amalur comes out, or march when mass effect 3 comes out, and those are my only other day 1 buys i'm looking at.

Im debating between bf3 and mw3. I played bf3 beta and honestly besides setting your gun to semi or full i dont see the big hype. The environments arent destructible. I dont like vehicles. I like that mw3 keep some of the old tradition alive with its arcady elements. Anyone who thinks their tougher or mature are being silly imo. Its a military shooter, were you pretend your some tough guy with a faux hawk and can take 5 bullets. So when it comes down to it, I feel like mw3 was more fun based on what i saw of the single player (friend). Atleast until the people that developed COD come out with their own new game, and that will probably rock the house. Until then, I feel like BF3 innovations bother me more than immerse/engage me. I do like their song though, really gets you pumped after a multiplayer win. So i dont know, if anyone has opinions on the matter, let me know and maybe ill make a decision.

You bought the kinect like I bought the Xbox 360... for a single title. I, on the otherhand, bought for Halo 3. You bought for the slim chance that maybe the developers made it Kinect-compatible? That doesn't sound logical.

I totally agree. I'm strapped for cash as well and I'd prefer a game that has way more hours of replayability and lastability. The last Elder scroll game lasted 5 years (plus 2 major DLCS) and some people are still playing Morrowind. Compared to Cod Where there is a new game out every year. Plus, MW3 is just a revamped MW2 engine and doesn't bring much for new content other than infinity ward's (now sledgehammer games and raven software because infinity ward crashed) stellar multiplayer.

Basically

Skyrim - 5 years in the making

CoD - 1 year in the making without any new major software changes

I did play CoD4 and it was alright. I usually get around to playing them all because the story line can be interesting. And yes, Combat Arms has it's problems, it's also hard to get use to at first. But I love it's community much more then CoD. Nexon is one of the biggest MMO company's ever. And it has gotten a LOT better since it was first released.

Just my opinions though. Nothing really wrong with the CoD series. I just wish they were a little better with keeping the community mature, and respectful. And the games to me tend to get a bit redundant.
