[WIP] Graphic enhancement ENBSeries

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 11:52 am

For some reason I crash to desktop when sleeping/waiting and the time passes into 6pm. Using the Beta 0.98.

Same here, seems it is the ENB graphics mod then. Other than that the ENB graphics are excellent!

How can I get it to add only SSAO/SSIL? I don't see any difference in comparison screenshots when I change the INI settings to have AO but not other lighting changes.

Gamers wanna play, not wait when Bethesda will finish to fix game bugs. Same for me... but now i don't want to play (((.
I'll try to contact with them regarding bugs.

Evening crash is a bug in my automatic shader recompiler which not handles several rare shaders, i fixed it, wait for next update.

It can't run without visible changes (or if some parameters are not set), may be mod not installed properly? Do you have notice message at game startup? After installing it, have you run game launcher to reconfigure graphics? Or may be some other d3d9.dll used as proxy?

ENBSeries:
Would you mind explaining these to me?

DirectLightingIntensity
SpecularAmountMultiplier
AmbientLightingIntensity (I think I got this one, those invisible lights, can make dungeons darker but seem to does the same to daylight.)
PointLightingIntensity

Also, for some reason I think this broke the Khajiit nighteye.

I've found some problems with SSAO. It doesn't work at all with 0.98. It does work with 0.97 but not if UseOriginalPostProcessing is true and the SSAO_SSIL options don't do anything. I took screenshots after changing each of the SSAO_SSIL options and there was no visible difference between any of them. Even AOAmount at 0 looks the same.

Can anyone confirm these findings?

I read about someone else having trouble with SSAO implemented in the new versions of enb and their problem was that bFloatPointRenderTarget (in mdocuments/my games/skyrim/skyrimprefs.ini under [DISPLAY]) was at 0 and after changing it to 1 it worked.

That setting does make it work. Thanks for pointing it out.

Great work, ENB. This thread really does not get the attention it deserves.

New version looks even better than before. In the old version occasionally some objects were shining through walls, this seems to be fixed now.
I've encountered some issues, which I hope you can fix:
- Occasionally some pixels seem to have abnormally bright color, see http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/2937/screenshot20ub.jpg (amplified by bloom). This is mostly encountered in caves/dungeons/ruins. Maybe some color normalization issue in one of your shaders?
- Cloud sprites in the mountains are much darker than the ambient light, which makes them kinda stick out, see http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/5784/screenshot21ut.jpg. This was introduced in the new version.
- Inventory items and, most importantly, books are influenced by enbseries.ini light brightness settings, which makes them too bright and barely readable, see http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/6062/screenshot22tn.jpg. In the previous version 0.099, this did not happen.
- Water seems to flicker from time to time, also did not happen in the old version.

Other than that, I'm really enjoying your graphics enhancement, keep up the great work!

edit: running Skyrim on a GTX460, if that information helps.

I'd like to try running with this mod, except that it produced a rather severe performance impact (from 60 FPS down to 40 or less) on my rig. Looking forward to when that is no longer an issue.

Question: Is there a way to make all screenshots I take have my settings enabled? Currently I've got a split of ENB screenshots, and regular, and the ENB ones look better of course but it doesn't always create an ENB version so I end up losing screenshots basically.

You can set a special key for ENB screenshots in the enbseries.ini file. By default it is set to "insert"-key, at least in my file.

Thanks, I have no idea how my keys are numbered so I guess I'll just use insert which is apparently key #44.

Yeah the popup is just to let you know that ENB IS working. Also, so that if you need help you know where to go (ENB's site).

Do you guys know if you can in the future fix the problem about LOD trees looking terrible in comparison to those close to you. I'm using Confident ENB settings right now and I really, really love it - I love it how the sun really has an affect on everything. Especially on the trees. But in the distance I see these dull trees that are not affected by the lighting. The contrast is just disappointing.. So.. is it possibly in the future to fix this little thing?
