Warning! Version 0.103 is not d3d9.dll based, it may be used to walkaround problems for laptop users.

Graphic mod for TES Skyrim implementing new visual fx, it's not texture replacement and kind of OBGE. It's highly cutomizable modification, you may change how game looks like easy enough. The main idea is to make as much realistic actors as possible, awaiting for same kind beautiful cloth and race mods like Oblivion. This modification will grow up with modding community of Skyrim, i mean new fx and optimizations.

List of fx:
True high dynamic range (game not using it) for lighting
Tonemapping changed to remove grayish look of the game.
Bloom of higher quality (small details affected, even ants).
Brightness adaptation changed to be not such annoying like vanilla.
SSAO giving volumetric look to objects.
Intensity controls for lights, entire sky system (but separately clouds, aurora, gradient, sun, moons).
Modified water (looks best with moddified textures).

In future i'm planning to do more: softer shadows, reflections, shadows from clouds, shadows for the distant objects, another subsurface scattering algorithm for characters, sun rays, underwater caustic and other fx.
Also developing simple integrated editor for placement of huge amount of small objects directly in the game (grass f.e.) to increase detail at low memory and performance costs.

There are viruses on the links you provided. I'm not sure if it was ENBDev.com or imagebam, but I think likely imagebam. EDIT2: New location for images shouldn't have any viruses; thanks for changing 'em so fast, Boris.

EDIT: That said, the brightness adaptation change is something I've really wanted since I started playing. Going to DL this just for that.

If possible, could you take a whack at the shadows? The jaggy edges are starting to bug me... And when two shadowcasting lights shine on me, you get a horrid stripe pattern; the best example of this would be right inside the front door of your player house in Whiterun.

I removed links to images, now will post on other image service. Fortunately i'm using virtual pc, but unfortunately i don't have antivirus installed on it, so can't say if something wrong.

EDIT: ok, changed images. Sorry for problems.

MadCat221
Yes, softer shadows will be done. I'm just waiting for upcoming patch to the game.

When i'll fix all bugs done by me (invisible items in the inventary, bright edges underwater). Hope this is matter of days

Hey there Boris, i tried your skyrim patch 5, i think that was the latest one. I'm not sure why there is such a big difference in lighting when you look up towards the sky. I can understand sun glare, but it shouldn't drastically change the way clouds look, for example. In real life, the sky does not change focus or change lighting when you look around.

I've been using ENB for a while to help increase stability on Beyond Ultra with 2560x1600 and all the best HD textures I can find, and it's worked out nicely. I'm waiting for a sample enbpatch.ini with the graphical changes so I can see how it looks on my high-end system. Right now I'm just fooling around with the settings.

Hi Boris, I have a problem when I add Vendor & product id into the ENB ini, the game freezes, I use a GTX 560 Ti with 2GB of RAM from msi, can you give me the correct id's so I can check I haven't made a mistake.

1) Open up the Command Prompt

2) Type in: dxdiag /dontskip /whql:off /t "%TEMP%\dxdiag.txt"

3) Type in: notepad "%TEMP%\dxdiag.txt"

4) Scroll down to the Display section and there's your two IDs.

EDIT: Viruses?

*sets Avast to deep scour*

What I was hit by was specifically Cloud AV 2012, and a rather anemic version of it at that - no rootkits, no host file changes, just the stupid malware program popping up saying 'you have viruses!', though I quickly shut it down. It did temporarily disable my firewall somehow, but I reactivated it immediately, and I may have shut it down before it could do any real damage. Ran a Malware scan and it picked up a few other bits and pieces. Hopefully nothing too terrible, but as far as I can tell it was all easily cleaned out.

Anyways, thanks for the quick image location change, Boris.

I have been checking your site every day for updates, Boris. Can't wait for the first release, I'm looking forward to SSAO.

Any chance you'll be including Motion Blur? Maybe that DoF you worked on for OB?

In real life visible intensity of sky and clouds changes, a lot, but it's not noticable, because eye adaptation acting very fast AND human almost ignore all areas except center point where looking at. You can try to experiment yourself with clouds around the sun, look at different angle on darker object and by side vision you'll notice that clouds "near" much brighter than you looking at them directly. You don't need even to be in dark room for this. On the display too hard to simulate adaptation correctly, especially for games (same for depth of field effect btw). Of course vanilla Skyrim method is very agressive and hard to play with it, nothing is visible near by player frequently.

baker99
Game freezes not because incorrect vendor and device id are set, but because game have some specific optimizations and they are fail to work with provided variables, so just change them to another.

Knots
Don't know about motion blur, as per object this is very slow. If something more simple and not such horrible fps eater, then i'll implement. Dof will be available a bit later.

Please keep on topic, this is about graphic mod, not the patch.

Thanks, I get this

Vendor ID: 0x10DE
Device ID: 0x1200
SubSys ID: 0x23841462
Revision ID: 0x00A1

So I Should put

DeviceId=00001200
VendorId=000010de

in the enbpatch.ini? Pretty sure this is what I did last time and the screen froze, although I could hear sounds when I pressed keys.

hi boris !

i used to play with your oblivion module. then i stop to use it because OBGE provided a better (faster) SSAO . volumetric SSAO it's called. what about yours for skyrim ?
is it ready yet ? any ETA ?

Tonemapping changed to remove grayish look of the game.

Do you plan on providing a preset for people like myself you want to take advantage of the other graphical improvements but still want the game to look like it takes place during a harsh cold winter instead of a varm colorful spring?

Better to try several videocard models of high-end category, like gf8800ultra, gf9800gtx, so on for other nvidia and ati, because game remove graphic setting for some videocards (don't remember, seems gf8600 antialiasing is not active in game, but this card is the same as gf8800 or 9800, so it's all idiotic things in the game).

gl33k
If you see name "ssao", then it's ssao and "volumetric" means nothing in this case. For sure OBGE version of ssao works faster than mine, but mine is not only ssao, it's indirect lighting also (i hate original invalid darkening of ssao) and it's applied on to objects lighting math, not as post process on entire screen. Quality level is absolutely different.

sialivi
Of course i'll keep special parameters for original color palettes.

Thanks again Boris, tried 480 and 260 with no success, will try some others, does leaving your default values drastically reduce IQ/performance?

My only complaint is the colors seem a wee bit too vivid, although as long as they're adjustable then my point is moot. Otherwise fantastic work. I'm looking forward to seeing a finished product!
