I can't stand face paint. That's why I didn't marry Aela. I'm working on a mod to fix it.

You can console the facepaint out.

If you type "setnpcweight 1" in the console while targeting Aela it will remove the paint.

This is the result:

I hired Jenassa the Dark Elf Mercenary to give me a break from Lydia.

I could have married Lydia but she's a servant and I'm a Thane so marrying her would have been beneath my station.

Jenassa is amazing. She loves to explore stuff just like me and is really handy in a fight.

When she saw the Amulet of Mara round my neck she confessed her feelings for me and I confessed I'd been feeling the same way.

We were married the next day.

The awkward moment came this morning when my real wife insisted I explain to her friend that I had taken a "second wife".

"Where's she from" she asked.

"Morrowind" was the reply.

Cool thread man. I've been sort of playing the field checking out all the available spinsters in Skyrim. The three on my short list at the moment are Mjoll, Temba, and Njada. Gotta love those big Nord amanzons! Of course I still haven't met the Dibella priestesses. ;) At the moment though my favorite is probably Mjoll. Not only is she hilarious at times ("........ever since I was a young girl big enough to swing a blade...." lol ), but she has also been the best companion in combat. She kicks serious butt!

Concerning the three female housecarls, although not hard on the eyes their speech is rather boring. "Yes my thane." Also, the only Dark Elf I like is Janessa. The young girl at the mage school was just sort of OK, and the one Dark Elf mage in Kynsegrove is rather uncomely. ;)

BTW, a lot of people seem to like Camilla, Sylgia, and Isolde, but I didn't care for them that much. Also, I can see that followers have a big advantage over the non followers, though I like Temba because she is sort of feisty and spirited. Also, she came to my rescue when I was ambushed in Iverstead by some hit men hired by that one Argonian Innkeeper in Riften. It was sort of a bonding moment.

I agree totally man. Janessa is on my short list along with Mjoll, Temba and Njada. Not only is she the prettiest of the Night Elf NPC's, but with the possible exception of Mjoll she has been about the most talkative of all the followers.

Wait, you can marry Tembra?

I'll need to hook up with her on my next character and declare a war on those insufferable bears.

I never would thought that this feature would be in the game, but has anyone tried it out? If you did, who did you marry? I was thinking about snagging Sylgja.

My female nord char married Jordis, a house carl. It was every bit as lame as I expected but the "general merchant" feature was too tempting.

Aela is fooling everyone with her makeup. This is what she looks like with it removed via console:

Glad I went with Mjoll.

Yeah man, you can once you deliver to her the ten bear pelts. Again, although I think the marriageable follower NPC's have a big advantage over the non-followers, I think Temba Wide-Arm is rather cool. Love her spirited and feisty attitude, and she is a more talkative version of Iona the Riften Housecarl. Also, and you gotta love that name! ;) The only possible down side is Temba might turn out to be a real harpy once you take her home. lol

No I have not been married in-game yet as I am an Argonian. I am married IRL with four children so it isn't a big deal for me personally.

And it's still not in the game, all you have is a "convenient" partner with some perks, I'll take Annekka dressed in foresworn armor before marriage in this game again. B)

I am not married yet. I am waiting for Bethesda to make Saadia an option for marriage.

And no, I am on PS3, so I cannot input those cool console commands and "make her marry-able."

Camilla is a good safe choice, but I'm holding out for one of those Nord amazons or Dibella priestesses. ;)

Actually, Taarie at Radiant Raiments in Solitude is listed as a marriable NPC in the strategy guide. I think there is a bug there though, as the marriage options don't show up with her after completing her favor. :(

I hear ya man. By the same token, I'm sort of sorry that they didn't make the vampire Narri in Falkreath marriable. :(

Of those three Companion females I like Njada Stone-Arm the best. I like how she acts like she doesn't like your character and seems to play hard to get. lol In any event I look forward to questing with her after completing the main Companion quest line. :) Also, I hear ya man about Aela. Without the makeup she looks rather severe, like Ugretha at the Bannered Mare.
