Have you ever seen a Dragon like this?!?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 1:15 pm

So here I am minding my own business when a dragon swoops down on me. I use storm call, which kills it eventually. But when it runs out of health (in midair) it doesn't die! I absorb it's soul then this happens!!!

So has anyone seen anything like this?!

It happened to the reviewer for GameInformer, at least, the review mentioned it.

Is it just me or does any one else instantly stop watching the dumb shaky cams of peoples TVs on youtube? The only time i ever tolerated this was watching Daigo shame someone.

That's actually pretty cool. Though you should have gotten two souls. That dragon obviously had two lives.

@Karras That's what I thought! I guess it doesn't matter since I already have more souls lying around then I can poke a stick at

Oh, lol. At least you did get a soul, though. I've heard some people saying they've killed dragons and didn't get any, so. That dragon looked awesome though being a skeleton.

So has anyone seen anything like this?!
in fact i have seen something like this i experienced it myself as i described it on the tech page in the "unoffcial buglist thread 5" topic, this is my post:

"Besides the fact i have never encountered the possible "backwards flying" bug yet involving around dragon mobs since the latest patch.
I did however found an entirely new one! but just as annoying because i dont know if it will occur more often as a follow up after encountering this bug for the first time, now here comes the description:

My latest save game starts where my character is located on the path in between "helgen" and "orphan rock" and decided to fast travel to "witchmist grove". Once arrived i decided to walk through the environment to the south heading towards the yet to be discovered dragon stone altar/shrine called 'Bonestrewn Crest" hoping to learn a new shout. normally the dragon on top of the stone remains "inactive" until you walk up closely. just before i even reached the foot of the mountain where this dragon stone altar is located on top of, the guardian blood dragon already came flying towards me! Now the fun starts at my progression level (level 26 high elf magic oriented) dragons are not really a challenge anymore , only the dragon priests. so in early battle where i just burned away 20% of his health. he started to decay already and gave me his soul. thereby turning into a living dragon skeleton and being immune for all schools of magic. I checked if it was the actual dragon stone guardian as i walked upwards the mountain. finally arriving at the stone altar the spot where the guardian dragon normally sits on is unoccupied (as foreseen) next phase of the bug is, after a certain while being an immortal skeleton dragon. he becomes visually invisible only the red dot showing on your screen that he is around and his frost breath animation showing where he would be located in the direction of the red dot (if you are facing it).At his invisible stage he does seem to be damaged by frost spells only. I ended his bug like reign finally by aiming my spells into his breath targetting me. where after his health reached 0 an invisible/lootable corpse is remaining on the ground.

Updated: I found out this bug in my case is persistent in the area i described and simply reloading the save file or restarting the game will not remove it (if it was to be a rare engine/loading error) also any earlier save file (in progress) of the same hero also encounters the same scenario in that area. So then its pretty straight forward that the patch itself might cause this. while it's amusing to see this dragon scenario, i like to have it fixed obviously".

@dxdiag that's weird! Mine actually ran out of health before forfeiting it's soul! In the video it is taking damage from the lightining too so it seems I had a different strand of the same bug!

They're not supposed to be able to fly either, so that's that theory out the window, lol.

I've not yet seen anything like that, but I have witnessed a dragon, for want of a better word, drifting and fish tailing

I have seen the backwards flying dragon (only at Bonestrewn Crest), and I've killed dragons that didn't give me souls (they were respawns at dragon lairs that I previously cleared). I haven't had a dead dragon resurrect though.

i have yet to see this yet, looks sickk!

BUT i have infact come across an invisable dragon, literally invisable. I managed to kill it but that was only because my companion was looking at it flying and stuff and when it landed id see her hit it so i just attacked where she did. was pretty strange

Forgot to mention this but my skyrim is unpatched..so it isn't related to backwards flying dragons. I have seen invisible dragons and similar skeletal dragons on YouTube though
