Honestly Dawnguard....

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 3:38 pm

As always I will play both factions but to be honest I'm looking forward to vampire a lot more. I really hope Dawnguard are the evolved form of the Order of the Virtuous Blood, how funny would that be? There are some designs that point that way, the drop of blood on the armor for instance.

The vampire lord looks pretty ugly.

Vampire lords get an gargoyle call-in, but the Dawnguard get an Armored Troll.

Howard said its a move we can do, though I wonder how far forward.

It showed it, though I'm sure they'll tweak it before release. I can't say exactly how far it went in terms of yards or meters, but he went from the front of the Riverwood trader to about the front of Gerdur's gate in front of her house.

edit: man i used front quite a bit there

Are the armoured trolls exclusively for the dawnguard? That would be awesome, it could balance out the gargoyle follower
Thats what i deduced from what Todd said. so yeah im pretty sure they are

i love vampires , i find werewolves boring as hell , i mean whats the big deal about turning into a oversized ugly beast
What's the big deal about svcking blood? I find vampires completely overused and rarely done well in media.

But elder scrolls vampires are not your typical vampires, sure there are similiarities but I sure haven't heard about vampires that live under the ice (The volkihar) except in TES.

Except I didn't really suggest they were typical vampires, I just made a broad statement that, in my opinion, vampires are rarely well done in media. This includes videogames and, more specifically, Skyrim.

Of course, this expansion will be an opportunity for TES to do vampires 'right', but I personally imagine we'll see it overdone. Besides, I don't like the magey vampires of TES; I prefer them to be hunters rather than magicians.

i think regardless of what your play style is just the fact that its new content should have most people excited. There'll probably be a twist or two in the storyline aswell hopefully which will have you thinking about which path to take.. well hopefully anyway. I'm just looking forward to more content so i have an excuse to swerve my responsibilities and spend more time exploring.

Well yeah, gameplay wise vampire is more enticing than dawnguard. But many people sides with Dawnguard for RP purpose.

How can you say that? No one has even played it yet.

I mean, at present gameplay wise vampire is more enticing at least to me, but I will still side with the dawnguard

Honestly who is actually excited to be a part of the Dawnguard and not be a Vampire Lord...? Vampire Lords can summon gargoyles! GARGOYLES!!!
So what? I'm with the Dawnguard. I'll play the vampire side too, so that I know what it is made of but that'll be it. ;)

Was not very hard for me to pick which side I was gonna back. My only hard decision, "What do I bring to fight such an evil as vampires?"
I was thinking I could close the local hot topic, and bring some glitter, no wait, scratch that last part lol, the "svckers" might like it. I wonder what a vampire looks like with a Skyforge Battle Axe imbedded in his head would look like? Can't wait to find out

I am for one - I dont play evil arch types. Only heroics - so the Dawnguard are very interesting to me. Give me some damsals to save from the vamps or something. I just hope they didnt put all their efforts into the Vamps and both Dawnguards and Vamp missions will be equally entertaining. So far, all I have seen is the crossbow.

I agree. I'm usually the typical nord hero unless I'm a sneaky nord hero in the thieves guil and DB. So I'll be going with the dawnguard first. Especially since they probably have really cool weapons and armor for straight forward warrior types. Hopefully. But after that, I'll vamp it up for sure...if i can stop tearing stuff up as a warewolf!

I'm much more excited to join the Dawnguard, than the vampires.
I like the base vampire a whole lot, so the VL worries me.

However crossbows, & the addition of some decent light armor, other than elven pleases me. As do trolls, & an emphasis on crafting.
I'm a big a vampire fan, but I'm more excited about the hunters right now.
