I hope with all the money Bethesda makes they'll be able to

More than 5 would be nice; it's painful how many key characters in the game don't just share the same voice actor, but the EXACT same voice in many cases.

Actually I think they hired 70 for the game. Maybe do some research before using incorrect facts to make your arguement.

=s Seems like they cut a few of them out though... I dont hear 70 different actors in my game.

Its better then Oblivion, but still not good enough... Especially since they, once again, cut out the damn raspy Dunmer voice, even after showcasing it in one of the videos...

Nameless NPCs don't get individual voice actors.

I don't complain about everything, and I do know that many things have changed in the gaming industry.
I still enjoy Skyrim and it is in my top games of all time, I just feel it could have been better (for me, of course) and am still willing to dispense my words of wisdom, or meaningless yak droppings depending on your opinion.

In fact, I expected a lot less from Skyrim than I got, but theres always room for improvement :D.

I hope they hire more/better writers, and a team that knows how to make a video game combat system that doesn't svck.

I wish they would stop spending huge amounts of money on celebrity voice actors with no voice range...

I don't hear as nearlly close to 70 voices. There are a few unique one's like The Greybeards and Esbern etc... but the majority of the voices are the same, like most of the humans have the same voice as Belethor. The Argonians, Dark Elves and Orcs only have like 1 each by the sounds of their voices too.

Words of wisdom? lol, that made me chuckle. You might need to look up the definition of the word wisdom. Stating that NO ONE likes the marriage mechanic just because you don't are not words of wisdom but rather words of ignorance.

Five or seventy it doesn't make his argument invalid, so many of them sound the same it's ridiculous. If that's what 70 sound like then they need 200 or 300 to make it sound like there is some diversity. It's not just that they all sound the same I just hate it how none of the voices fit the characters, especially the male voices, I was actually quite surprised when If irst came across a Khajit and it didn't just sound like a human race.

They might have 70 VA's but the concetration was way to much. and who the prioritized to what was also lacking imo, I mean in Solitude at the Weenking Skeever, the Bar head sounds younger than his "son"........why?

It's just that some of the more unique sounding main NPC voices are easily recognized when heard from generic NPCs.

Some of the voices are similar and I could see how hearing them over and over again could cause them to blend together. But to complain about the lack of variety is kind of crazy- there's tons of variety, many different accents and intonations. I love Ahnold guards. They're my favorite :D Sure, hearing the same dialogue can get boring, but that's not the voice actors' fault.

Why don't we keep this obviously personal argument out of the thread, kay? This is not the marriage thread, if you have a problem with something started there, keep it there or to PM's. Thanks.

The problem is that the inability to re-use voice-files causes the amount of space the game requires to become excessive. From what I've played, there IS a lot of variation in the V.A.'s. Heck, there are are least 5 different V.A.s for the different guards alone.

The problem cited by Todd before release wasn't funding, it was the crappy capacity restrictions on the 360 (an issue also griped about by Rockstar). The PC has essentially infinite storage (although it would be unwise to go beyond 25 GB for practicality reasons), the PS3 has 25 GB on a bluray disc, and the 360 has less than 3.5 on a standard DVD thanks to the DRM they put on them. Gogo weakest link!

Edit: And after a quick search on the web, I've found that Epic, Team Ninja, and more have the same problem. Time for that console to die.

I think Christopher Plummer did ok, but Joan Allen, who's a top notch actress, really doesn't shine at all in this game. She sounds like she's just reading down the list of dialogue, which is what the 'behind the scenes' video seemed to show. Granted, without any visuals or real context it must be hard to nail it, but I think less expensive talent could have done a better job. And anyways, I'm sure most of us didn't buy the game for the celebrity voices.

And besides that, the material is pretty bad. I mean, the story is fine, but the writing really isn't that impressive.

I think people think there are only a few voice actors because those "additional voices" actors are such a few. Give even randoms an occasional von Sydow voice or somesuch, and the mix would get much more variety. Characters you see most often shouldn't sound the same as much as they do in Skyrim (Guards, for example... although this, with their lines, becomes rather hilarious :D).
