Any bookshelf I did not previously fill to capacity is now working as intended. However, any bookshelf that I previously filled to capacity is no longer able to be activated, nor are the books stored upon it able to be interacted with. You can hover over them and the UI displays the book’s title and pertinent information, but you cannot pick them up to read.

This only affects those shelves that I previously filled to capacity during 1.2. Any shelf that was partially filled, or not touched is now working properly as intended. This affects *ALL* bookshelves in every one of my homes.

AMD Phenom II 9850
ASUS M3N-HT Mempipe Motherboard
8GB 1066 DDR2
2.5TB total drive space
MSI Nvidia GTX570

I downloaded the 1.3 patch and the first thing I did was delete the ini files and had the game recreate them. I reset my settings to ultra with no ini tweaks as I had none before, and found certain areas that would give me massive slowdowns no longer did.

An example would be during the first dungeon, during the escape when you get the drawbridge that later gets destroyed, I would previously dip to sub 30 fps through that section. (I'm not using any fps viewable tools, but it dropped enough to notice it was no longer smooth) With 1.3 I noticed my fps was perfectly stable the entirety of the dungeon. Been playing through a few other locations that previously had similar effects that are now non existent.

just remembered that I found my FPS in Whiterun also increased, and I will test Markarth tonight and let everyone know if i found it improved there as well.

Gstaff made a follow up on this stating that it was a preventative fix, indicating any bookshelf that was broken will remain as such but any new ones should not encounter this bug.

Treasure maps seems to still be bugged. No chests appear where they should.

It helped optimize my game better, but of course everyone is different so hopefully it fixes problems you have on your 360. Good luck :D

Why are you in the PC forum, then?

Because PC users have already gotten the patch and console users have not. He/She is curious so they know what to expect. No need to be "that guy".

I got my first game-freeze...

Random incident... Exited a house near the tree in the center of Whiterun, some kid followed me into the house (Teleported with me, because her dialogue wasn't finished.) When I quickly exited the house, back into the town... She exited of her own will, and the game froze.

No CTD yet... but jitter is almost completely gone. I can walk from Riverwood to Whiterun without freezing or CTD five times along the path now.

Scenery-explosions seem not as game-killing. (That is where you just suddenly walk-up onto a new area, filled with objects, sounds, animations, effects, randon-events, and a flower. All exploding into view/ear-shot all at once.)

(NOTE: I started a NEW game to do this testing. I have not tried my old saves, as they are known to be corrupted with lingering data and bad data and un-fixable quest issues.)

Game music stops when alt-tabbing out as expected but background noise (running water, wind, crickets, etc.) continues to play.
1.1 here, and this happens to me. In fact, I have a fair few games that tend to do that so it's not necessarily exclusive to Skyrim. Not really surprised though, since Skyrim really isn't "an alt-tab kinda game".

Okay, so it's not just me LOL. Was going bat-sh*t-crazy trying to find one the other day and it simply wasn't there.

I had the same problem after a couple hours of playing, what fixed it for me with 1.2 was the 4GB LAA loader that enables Skyrim to be able to address more than 2Gb of physical memory (only use it if you have more than 2Gb obviously). Can be found at skyrimnexus.com

If you alt-tab, I've found that alt-tabbing back will give a bordered black window with the game sounds running. At that point do another Alt-Tab right back to the game and it fixes itself and yer back in and playing again. This is on my machine running windows7 so YMMV.

1.3 has been working very well for me since its release. The only issue I've had has been an incident of textures not loading properly, but I experienced that occassionally with 1.1, too. The very rare CTDs I experienced with 1.1 haven't recurred. Dragons clean up properly and so far attack without fail, and projectiles fade away properly. I wish the glowing eyes bug had been fixed, but I can live with it.

I actually thought that was an enhancement when I noticed it on my Khajiit stealther. It was like 2am and almost a new moon. I thought Bethesda had implemented a reflective enhancement to the Khajiit eyes like a true cat's does to show their enhanced night vision.

Then my happy thoughts were proven wrong and I became a dejected wallaby...

I thought I had glitched ice spikes lodged in my eyes and I constantly letting myself get hit with projectiles to try to get them to fade, haha. There's fix for it using the console (player.addspell 000f71d1, exit and reenter console, then player.removespell 000f71d1), but I have an irrational aversion to the console.

So far 1.3 isn't bad.

1.2 crashed and burned at first.

Hi, (hope some of the content in your SIG makes it to Skyrim)...:) I use it all in Oblivion..!!!

Because I trust in you I will give the Crash fest of a 1.3 patch a second chance. First attempt I got ONE step & got a CTD, 8 crashes later i gave in and went back to my Tried and true 1.1.12.

This time I remove all Graphic mods (including your creature one :) ) and start a new Game ..IF it CTD before 15 hours thats the last time I try.

On the Original exe I have a 15 hour straight session for each Saturday since release...3 so far!! So my Rig CAN run this flawlessly.

Nothing to do with the patch. This means that Skyrim is running out of usable RAM, and is fairly common when you put high-res textures into the game and don't use an LAA mod.

It's an engine limitation. It can't be truly fixed without a total rewrite. LAA helps, though.

If you weren't suffering CTD's or black screen, I would recommend you update because things are definitely slightly improved. Frame frate is a little better and key bindings are better, but not totally fixed. Overall I'm glad I updated to 1.3. I skipped 1.2 and went from 1.1 to 1.3. My biggest complaint with the game now is the extremely laggy load/save menus.

Fun! Good news! Thanx! :) i am thinking about trying the 4GB launcher after all the patches are done, if it seems it might still improve things then. So glad to hear it is still working well for u post 1.3 patch.

They are working on an official LAA mod to the game. It's coming soon.

A final note. If your loaded bookshelf was borked with 1.2, 1.3 won't fix it, won't recover your books. There may be a console command to free your books but I've gone back to the save I made just before storing my books.

The books probably got scattered in the void behind the cell. That's in the save file so that is why they don't come back. What you could do is just console them into your inventory, then add them to the shelf.

That is a good idea any time they patch the game for performance issues. The game should make a new one, but it may not. Plus, you want to test any ini tweaks you may have done in the past as something in the patch may cause you to change a setting or remove the tweak.

I've notice a small (but gamebreaking) bug: If I'm dual wielding spells and ready them, I can't run anymore. Spell + shield and weapon + shield works fine. 2 spells? Can't run, even after I put them away.

I did not notice that at all.

Patch is smooth as silk.. NO freezing at all..

I moved from 1.1 to 1.3 and first thing i noticed is a huge improvement in performance in crowded cities but after 5 minutes BAAM! crash... tried again and after 6 minutes there were graphical glitches all over the damn place, like dissapearing buldings, odd things in the sky and kids with no faces just teeths and eyes (creepy and funny) then crash after that, tried again and quick traverl baam CTD again... then i remember something, i didnt patched LAA 4Gb the .exe... so i did and voila! problem solved.

No issues on 1.3, i was having constant errors and crashes but after patching the exe to use 4gb all problems GONE and a HUGE, i mean HUGE improve on performance, the game does not goes under 30fps in the cities like Whiterun, Solitude and Markarth, so far played for like 10 hours straight and no issues.

TOTALLY Recommend 1.3, just dont forget to patch your exe.

I am not having the issue people mention with Dual Casting Magic, i can move and cast dual spells no problem.
