I downloaded the 1.3 patch and the first thing I did was delete the ini files and had the game recreate them. I reset my settings to ultra with no ini tweaks as I had none before, and found certain areas that would give me massive slowdowns no longer did.
An example would be during the first dungeon, during the escape when you get the drawbridge that later gets destroyed, I would previously dip to sub 30 fps through that section. (I'm not using any fps viewable tools, but it dropped enough to notice it was no longer smooth) With 1.3 I noticed my fps was perfectly stable the entirety of the dungeon. Been playing through a few other locations that previously had similar effects that are now non existent.
just remembered that I found my FPS in Whiterun also increased, and I will test Markarth tonight and let everyone know if i found it improved there as well.
Any bookshelf I did not previously fill to capacity is now working as intended. However, any bookshelf that I previously filled to capacity is no longer able to be activated, nor are the books stored upon it able to be interacted with. You can hover over them and the UI displays the book’s title and pertinent information, but you cannot pick them up to read.
This only affects those shelves that I previously filled to capacity during 1.2. Any shelf that was partially filled, or not touched is now working properly as intended. This affects *ALL* bookshelves in every one of my homes.
Gstaff made a follow up on this stating that it was a preventative fix, indicating any bookshelf that was broken will remain as such but any new ones should not encounter this bug.
