It definitely seems that "Come Fly with Me" causes this problem, I to just finished this mission and now cant load my game saves. I've never been so frustrated by a game, 38 hours played so far and now just endless waiting for a fix. AAAARRRRGGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! :brokencomputer:

Same here, and I'm worried to try other quests cause it might pop up then too...I've got a good save right before Come Fly With Me that I just have to wait for them to patch :( I wish they would tell us anything, it's been like 2 weeks!

I came across this bug on Sunday when I tried to load up my savegame where I'd just finished the "Come Fly With Me" quest. Luckily, I had a save that I was able to load, a few game hours earlier where I'm just about to head off to get the *SPOILER* components for *SPOILER* Rocket Launch. I replayed the rest of the mission, making sure to save manually a lot and reloading my game to see where the problem was occuring. For me, it was at the point where you get to mission control to initiate the launch itself, NOT when you actually complete the mission. And yes - I did pick up the space suit (I heard some people saying this was related to the problem), but I tried un-equipping it and even putting it back where I found it and it still wouldn't let me load up my game past this point.

Anyway, just thought I'd pitch in with my experiences and provide some much needed test data for the devs. I mean, if we don't test the game, who will?

Yep I've done the same thing. However with my game I have 5 different save files and all of them went out after doing this quest. I don't know what to do now, I'm afraid to start over and put more hours into something that could break on me. My time is too valuable for this off to something else most likely.
One thing is for sure I'm not downloading the actual DLC for this game when it comes out till after a month of being released so that everyone here has tested it properly for Bethesda.

I received the game save error 3 days after the game came out when I completed the "Come fly with me" quest line.

I got tired of the no answers/information so I decided to start over and hopefully a patch would come before I surpassed my previous game.

I have been creating a new save every time I play. I am level 22 now (should be 24). I have been avoiding the strip because I want to finish most of the quests outside the strip first (plus I hear it's broken too).

Today I decided to raid Vault 3 with Motor-runner. This is an extensive vault and took ~2 hours to go through everything and sell most of the items. However, after killing him and raiding the vault...DLC Error. So I reload and do it again. DLC Error.

It appears this quest is screwed too. So I reload the previous save and turn around and leave without killing him. Game has been fine. I think I am going to return this crap. I have lost so much time between DLC Errors and game freezes.

this is the biggest liberty ever how they can let this happen and just think o well not a problem we have sold enough copys so that we are rich
and then talk about it how its not that big a deal when u have been playing one of the biggest games for god knows how many hours and get told you have to start again for the same [censored] to happen all over
i dont buy games to be told o well you will just have to start again and neither should anyone else
i swear this should go to watchdog or something because it is sellling faulty goods

If they don't fix this bug/glitch of whatever by the time DLC comes out, then I for one wont be buying the DLC.

If you cant play the damn thing when why buy DLC?!

I also got this lovely error/glitch/bug over 70 hours in (at the moment, I have a lot of time on my hands). I actually did the Come Fly With Me mission just fine, as well as entering Vault 3 and killing Moto-Runner. It was when I re-entered Vault 3 for the mission "Still in the Dark" that I encountered the error.

I finished the mission and did "Eyesight to the Blind" along with some some other things and decided to go to bed. When I tried to play the next day, my saves for anything after I entered Vault 3 the second time wouldn't work. I found a save before re-entering Vault 3, but it was many hours prior to the saves that wouldn't work. I haven't played since then, not knowing when my saves could be for naught.

I recently moved, and for the moment, don't have a reliable internet connection (my gold account is just going to waste), so I'm kinda screwed.

I'll probably bring my 360 to a friend's place to get the patch for this if/when its fixed. Until then, I'm not playing the game only for it to happen to me again.

I made it through "Come Fly With Me" a long time ago with the spacesuit and had no problems aside from a freeze here or there. However after completing vault 3 and killing motor runner i have become f'ed. i loaded once while in vault 3 before killing motor runner. but it was my first load outside of the vault to my autosave the sprung the dlc error. I am uncertain if and how far back my last save that will work is if any, but 50+ hrs in and i am quite demoralized.

This DLC Error has really soured my mood lately. i do not believe that the come fly with me or vault 3 thing has anything to do with triggering the error.i did come fly with me no problems did vault 3 no problems. It has happened to me in 5 random spots now not related to those quests/ areas
1. Gun runners
2. Black mountain
3. Big tops casino
4. Michelangelo's
5. Outskirts of vault 3

I believe the most common areas of occurrences of the dlc bug may be near vault 3 or repconn test site. but be aware that it can happen anywhere at anytime. Take it from me/
Truthfully no one knows yet what triggers this error. all of this is speculation
Bottom line get your butts in gear Bethesda. your amazing game is being overshadowed by game breaking bugs and i really wanna play. HURRY!

Yeah I have the same issue that everyone else here is having. At this point I've spent more time looking at the forums than I have playing the actual game. I just created this forum account so I can share frustration and vote in the poll.

When you buy a game you make the safe assumption that you can be able to play it. From what I've seen if you get the bug and even start a new game the bug will resurface. It looks like the programmers spent more timing creating a patch that took care of visual bugs but screwed with the save file. From an IT stand point they released a Bad Package without an effective rollback. How many people actually tested the visual bug package if thats the case? Its been a week and a half for some end users. In a corporate environment the manager would be terminated for incompetence. At this point I think the only thing that would appease the players would be what some people mentioned (The DLC being free).

Its funny though if the DLC actually gets released on time and the patch to fix the save fix bug takes forever I do think a boycott of it wouldn't be unreasonable if they wanted us to pay for it. When the save bug gets fixed and the DLC comes out we can all put on our beta tester caps and get ready to hop on the forums because I don't think they have the capability to actually make a game which doesn't produce game breaking bugs. I can deal with visual bugs and barely deal with freezes. This bug ruins the game.

Also I wanted to ask if those effected got a DLC bonus with the game like the classic pack. If anyone has it without any of the bonuses let me know if anything just to help me with my curiosity.

I have two characters, the first with 24 hours of game time, and the second with over 27 hours. Both are corrupt by this, and Im not touching the game until this is fixed.

I don't have any of the bonuses, my 360s not connected to the internet, and I was still affected. See my previous post.

Well there goes one theory. Quick question if you would, did you play on live when you got the game or have you always played it offline from start to incident? I'm just wondering if its related to the patch since there was a patch released awhile ago and I started the game with the patch and had the issue.

I just got the error yesterday when i updated the xbox interface. I dont know if the xbox update had anything to do with it but this is my first problem and i made it to lvl 27 and did almost every side quest. I dont think it has anything to do with what quest you perform i think it may be an interlaced error in the complete scripting of the game seeing as your choices have some sort of variable change in the game, maybe if you complete several quest the variables that change in the game (ie: ranks in certain factions or popularity with different groups) have an effect on the files that have been updated or files in the hard drive cache (and possibly the download for the preorder items) or the default files on the game. Too many things that could go wrong. And the thing thing that i hate the most (other than not being able to play) is those stupid trash cans that clip out all the time, it sounds like a freight train coming to run me over on my surround sound.

Have been playing offline from the start. Originally, I was wishing I could get online and get the patch as soon as I could, but I figured I could ignore most of the glitches, as I had played for awhile already and recently made it to level 30. However, I had no such luck with this DLC error. Even if a patch for this comes out, I'll be waiting until I can get to a friends place or get a reliable connection of my own. I bought this game figuring that even though I didn't have Live capabilities at the moment, I would still be able to enjoy it. No such luck.

I think it is a problem with the original scripting of the game and i am not sure what triggers it, my theory is that its not in the quest that you do but possibly the reputation system for different groups in the game. Since the reputation is a variable that affects the end result of the game (ie: if you helped the legion or NCR or BOS). I am not certain but it sounds like a plausible idea for the time being. Its not like we are getting any answers from bethesda right now, maybe we can give them ideas of where to look. :)

Yeah it looks like an original problem with the game so then I have to ask If they even did a decent job at beta testing. What was their process I wonder but I can come to the conclusion that this game never should have been released. If it was any other product it would have been refunded with a full refund. We have to start holding video game companies accountable and I don't just mean not purchasing a DLC.

You are definitely right, i think that obsidian was trying to ride off the success of bethesda and fallout 3. These two games are almost the same just a different area which may explain the lack of testing. Every bethesda game is usually plagued with problems in the begining but what we are seeing here is a reoccurance of old problems from Fallout 3. Also obsidian should be held accountable for this we the gamers trusted them to deliver a somewhat polished game, We also gave them $60 or more for that expirience. I also know that with any new game comes new problems and with a mass release with more ppl essentially testing the end product there is going to be more problems found. This is a big problem though and i dont think its is just restricted to a small group of ppl in the community. They should be trying to figure out how to fix this problem quickly and if not quickly then they need to start thinking of ways to compensate the gamers.

Yea I joined the forum hoping to find a solution. I did vault 3 and Come Fly with me and it didn't happen I had two saves one auto one not. The manual save is the newest and neither work it. Saved right after I bought stuff of of the gun runners for the Ring a Ding Ding quest. I got power armor training and even did vault 34 armory right before this. I put 36 hours into the game with out actually ever going into the strip I just explored A LOT. It was fun and didn't mind the long loads sometimes and didn't experience the crazy glitches (albeit stuff did fall or get stuck in the map only really glitches I noticed and also the infinite xp glitch in vault 11). I signed off and since my friend was comer over watched a movie on my box they left popped Vegas in and instantly got the error. I was so disheartened. I really loved the game even with its flaws until I now cant play it. Well I can play-through the whole game but I would have to not turn my box off and play for like 2 days straight. I had high hopes for this game recommended it to friend even now this. Its been 3 days and if its not fixed soon buy buy New Vegas and just trade it in to pay off Black Ops.

P.S.
I even uninstalled the patch and then tried loading up looked like it would load but then just froze.......tsk tsk.

Hi, I love FO3 and I am loving NV so far. I'm about 15 hours in so far, and so far have experienced a handful of freezes. While quite annoying, I suppose it's livable, though I live in dread of the DLC error.

When I chose to install the first patch, I was saved in Primm. After installing the patch, if you load a game that was saved in Primm before you installed the patch, your game will freeze every time you enter VATS.

After finding this out, I cleared the cache to remove the patch, then loaded my saved game in Primm. This prompted the window to come up that reads: "This save game relies on downloadable content that is no longer available. Some objects may be no longer available. Continue loading?"

I hit OK, and the game loaded fine. I was able to get myself out of Primm, save the game, then apply the patch so that it would not affect my VATS. I have played the game for about four hours since this incident without problems aside from the occasional random freeze.

Am I the only one who has seen the dreaded warning screen and survived?
