How many people have suffered DLC error, and are unable to l

I just opened my game today and started playing it, bought it two weeks ago and don't want to wait longer, so far playtime is about 5 hours, and my last save was at Primm after I finished the optional quest My Kind of Town. It is very fortunate that I have not encountered a single freeze, bugs, etc. so I am wondering if that will happen soon? I'm about to travel to Novac and finish up the they went that-a-way quest. my settings: I am playing on a 4GB Slim Model with an 20 GB Hard Drive in it. Game is intalled to hard drive, patched on Xbox Live before I started playing at all, my saves are on the 4gb memory unit, also I have no DLC installed. I am deleting the old saves so I usually have 5 at a time and an autosave available. So is there anyone else with these same settings that are getting the DLC bug? I need to know so I can decide whether its safe to keep playing or wait for the patch now. thanks

No one is safe from the DLC error. People have got it whose XBOX isn't even connected to LIVE. The bug is embedded in the original game data that comes on the Disc. Nobody knows for sure what will trigger it, some people have managed to avoid it, but there's no telling how or why.

And freezes are guaranteed.

Nobody will be truely safe until a patch is released that specifically addresses this issue.

I have made 2 playthrouhgs, without a single freeze or DLC issue. put in well over 100 hours so far. Only been playing with patch, and did ALL the dangerous quests. Come fly with me etc etc..

You can shove all your theories where the sun don't dont shine

I LOL at the people who havent even played the game because they are afraid of the DLC issue :brokencomputer:

Thousands of people havent had this bug. It's the same couple of hundreds people crying on this forum EVERY day, making it seem like a lot of people are affected.

The game has solds thousands, if not millions, of copies worldwide. Most have no problems

You're playing it on the 360? Over 100 hrs and not a single freeze? If so, I don't know what game you're playing.

I have also run into this problem loosing a playthrough in the process. Really frustrating but whatever I decided to go on and keep playing and I believe I can offer some helpful information to the devs. I narrowed down this incident to after I entered Vault 34's Armory, went into the locked area that is unlocked from the terminal in the reactor core, and have taken weapons from inside that locked area in the armory. I would make multiple saves along the way and to test this theory out, I would take the weapons, exit the Vault 34's Armory, save it, restart the Xbox 360 , and attempt to load the save and it would show the error the OP described. I tried just taking the pulse gun but the problem would still occur. Hopefully this helps if no one has noticed this yet and a warning to all other 360 owners to save multiple, different saves if planning on going into Vault 34.

Question then. Where do you live? As in where did your copy come from.

I'm from Denmark, bought the game fron a danish online shop and Im playing on a PAL xbox. Dunno if that's got anything to do with it.

In also tied to a danish xbox forum, and nobody there either have had any serious problem playing the game.

Feel sorry for all of you that's having problems though

I won't care if it ends up taking 2 months+ to fix this in 7 days (as long as they fix it entirely). Black Ops ftw.

A conflict with regional coding maybe? It doesn't seem likely but you never know. It could be that they have outsourced beta testing but I'm not sure. The problem is pretty apparent though but maybe you're lucky and it won't happen to you. It was a great game while it lasted for me.

Got my DLC error this morning and as you may well of guessed not best pleased. So found Vault 3 and went inside *SPOILER* but did not have a quest for the Vault active just exploring. Went through the Vault happily killing and looting with Boone and ED-E. Freed the prisoners and let the Ranger go as I said I would kill that leader guy Motor mouth or something. Killed him and went to gun runners to sell all the loot. Got me a nice Sniper Rifle and a Assault Carbine and ran off to the Nature Reserve then saved. Watched a film (Bronson is awesome) and went to bed. Got a day off so went to load my save game and got the DLC error. This has affected 3 out of 4 saves. 1 Auto save and 2 regular saves but both after leaving Vault 3. Save 4 is my girlfriends save at 4 hours at the Mojave Outpost. Come Fly With Me was completed without a hitch about 6 hours previous to entering Vault 3.
Got the game to keep me occupied until Black Ops is released so heres hoping that they fix this soon or it will be returned and Treyarch will get my £45.

FIX IT SOON x

Yep I've done the same thing. However with my game I have 5 different save files and all of them went out after doing this quest. I don't know what to do now, I'm afraid to start over and put more hours into something that could break on me. My time is too valuable for this off to something else most likely.
One thing is for sure I'm not downloading the actual DLC for this game when it comes out till after a month of being released so that everyone here has tested it properly for Bethesda.

Sorry to hear that dude.

I'm with you there though - I'm not restarting this game only for the same thing to happen again and I don't have enough time to play all the games I wanna play let alone broken ones that force me to play multiple times. I'll still give it the benefit of the doubt because I know in time it will be fixed, so in the meantime I'm just parking the game and playing rentals and backlog games instead. It's not like I feel starved of gaming, but I do feel a bit ripped off and disgusted that I own a game that is effectively now unplayable.

As above please poll so we can gauge the extent of this error. Seems to occur around Vault missions, although it can creep up at any time during the game. Basically corrupting your save files, so you recieve an error message, stating Downloadable content is not available, for most people this means the lastest files are lost, and in the best scenario a prior game save of 10 hours+ may be needed. Myself....I lost 33 hours of gameplay, so ill be damned if im going to reload my 1 hour 4 minutes save file and start running around with a pea shooter again!

Official error states....

'This game relies on downloadable content that is no longer available. Some objects may be no longer available. Continue Loading? Y/N......Y = The storage device you selected in no longer available. Load canceled'

Official post stated -

"On consoles, we are aware that a small group of 360 users are seeing a DLC warning which is preventing you from loading save games. We are absolutely looking into this bug now, along with other reports of save game corruption. It is our highest priority right now that we find out what is causing it. In the meantime, we recommend you save often, and revert to an older save if this occurs."

So we are waiting..............

Got the message after clearing the cache on my 360. Crashed the first time I tried to go through a door. Reloaded, got the message again, fine after that.

Yeah, I get it in Vault 3. Spent hours on it last night. I've narrowed it down to something that occurs in the Maintenance Wing. Now, I've been able to get in and out of there- wiping out all of Motor-Runner's guards and taking their stuff- without ever encountering Motor-Runner himself and it still causes the corrupted save. Shame, that- since I really want that Power Wrist that one of the guards has.

Not sure if it's item-related or not- I got tired of experimenting.

Also not sure if it makes a difference that I found Vault 3 by accident, while wiping out Fiends for that head-hunting mission where you need to bring back the heads of the three Fiend bosses. Whenever I kill Motor-Runner, it mentions that I just failed a mission, Aba Daba Honeymoon- which I never started in the first place.

I only get the DLC warning if I try to load a game from a post-Maintenance Wing save point(and then it restarts the game to the welcome screen). If I just "Continue" a game when starting up, or if I die after visiting the Maintenance Wing, it just freezes on the load screen and I have to restart the console.

I lost over 60 hours of gameplay because of this.

It happened to me shortly after exiting Vault 34. I had done the "Come Fly With Me" mission in the first 20 hours gameplay.

All my saves are corrupted apart from 1 that is around the 22 hour mark, unfortunately the CFWM mission has already been completed on that so it will probably crash eventually as well.

Would really appreciate some feedback from the developers because I am very close to trading the game in now. Bit worried that their silence means they are really struggling to fix things.

I actually just signed in to look up if anyone was having the same problem and holy crap was I right.

I'm actually having the Vault 3 issue right now. I've backtrack saved to a point where I have found that if I leave the living quarters then all my saves after that are corrupted. I guess it really svcks because there is no other way of getting around it. Now I gotta load a couple hours back.

Paragon, did you meet Motor Runner's guys in the Maintenance Wing? I found that all my saves prior to that were fine, and I cleaned out the entire facility and did the Maintenance Wing last. I don't think you can even get there until after you've gotten the fella with the key to unlock the people in the cage.

I also got the DLC-error in vault 3. I thought it had something to do with the Reverse Pulse Cleaner quest item, but apparently the error is caused by simply entering the vault.

However, I returned the game today. There are so many really good games I can spend my time on, I don't see the point in playing this buggy hell of a game. In addition, I don't think a patch will be out soon for the following reasons:
- If the patch was about to be released any time soon, Obsidian would have spread the news to calm down angry gamers who already own FNV and to convince unsure, potential buyers.
- FNV was released more than two weeks ago. If this bug really had a high priority for Obsidian, the patch would already have been available. Since it only concerns the Xbox360 version, the affected userbase is apparently too small for Obsidian to give a shi*.
- I'm convinced that the DLC bug was known before release. It happens to so many players on various occasions, there is no chance the testers didn't notice it. So they are propably working on this bug for even longer than 2 weeks and still couldn't fix it.

The bottom line is that I don't expect the DLC-error to be fixed in the next couple of weeks or even this month, so I'm moving on to the next game (maybe Fable 3, CoD: Black Ops or Castlevania... there are more than enough interesting games to pick from).

I was safe and had always kept a save file that was 7 hours old. Still all my saves had this problem. My brothers files on his profile still work... lucky little $h!t. Im to far in the game to start over. I wish they would let us know if its worth holding out on these saves or regardless of patch we will have to start over....

I got the DLC error awhile ago. And this is what happened....
Oh and btw i didn't install the vault 13 gamestop pack because i needed internet for it

Before glitch:
- Decided to check out vault 3, so i did (also i had boone and ed-e which a lot of people had when they get this)
- said i was the drug dealer to get in
- killed motor runner
- grabbed that quest item in the locker (Didn't start the quest yet)
- killed all the fiends
- got out did a lot of crap and got the quest where i have to go to the vaults and get crap
- went to vault 3 killed a lot of fiends again
- killed one fiend in vats and game froze
- restarted game and clicked continue and the load froze, than went to load and clicked another save because the other one had the DLC error glitch
- killed that fiend again and than continued down and got that quest item again
- decided to get off so i saved right outside of the vault between the vault 3 door and the door to feind territory
-went to play again and clicked continue, the loading screen froze
- went to click load 3 of my saves had the DLC error glitch (Got really mad)
- did everything again got out and did other vaults (lots of hours worth)
-decided to get off
- went back on tried to load my saves but nope they had the DLC error glitch :@ :@ :@ :@
- stopped playing for now

After glitch:
- Can no longer play this game because all my new saves will have the DLC error glitch
- Not able to get a patch even though Obsiden/Bethesda havent even released it to even fix this
- Spent $90 for basically nothing, thanks

I have the same problem with vault 3. Now almost all of my new saves are corrupt with the dlc error. I haven't played since, but I did request a refund on Amazon today. Now I'm getting a full refund even though the game is opened. looks like i'm not going to be wasting my time or money with any games from Obsidian or Bethesda in the future.
