How often does this game freeze on you?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 6:32 am

Favorite game ever probably. it hadnt froze up or did any major glitches for the first 25 hours. In the last 20 minutes it's completely froze twice. Cleared my cache before playing the game and have it installed to my hard drive. How is it for you guys?

I had four freezes within the space of thirty minutes earlier, during the quest "You'll Know It When It Happens". I just accepted defeat and stopped playing.

No freezes for me unless I sleep or wait for several hours at a time. If I sleep or wait for one or two hours at a time I'm good. Other than that though the game stutters a bit. Annoying and unacceptable but livable.

Well make that 3 times in about 30 minutes. Once inside the brotherhood's underground bunker and twice at black mountain.

Three freezes in 30 hours on a PS3. Not bad, much like Fallout 3 was as far as freezing. I tend to understand why since the game is so large compared to most. If 100,000 players are at point A and plan on going to point B, most likely there would be 100,000 different paths to point B. In a game like COD you basically have to follow the same path as everyone else.

About ten freezes in 37 hours on a PS3. Fallout 3 did'nt freeze us much at this point of playing, only after I installed DLC's.

CTD averaging at probably once every 4-5 hrs.

Lucky the game is that bloody good (and I \ it saves often) that I go back to it. Anything else would have gone in the bin a long time ago.

A few times an hour. I never really had a problem with freezes until recently.

The only freezes I had could be easily tracked down to some strange piece of software that was installed with my latest driver updates. Removed it, none happened after. This engine is really, really sensitive - if not downright envious - when it comes to usage of system resources. ^_^

Roughly once every 6-7 hours of play, I've been playing about 25-30 hours so far. Annoying when it happens, but I can live it for the tme being. I happy to say I have not had any of the serious problems others have reported, so I've been lucky so far. ( touch wood, fingers crossed, etc! )

No freezes so far, quite a few crashes though. Doesn't bother me too much except on my hardcoe game cause I don't save until I'm done and I turn auto off.

Very rare, maybe 3 or 4 times in 40 hours gameplay and it will always be a load crash.

CTD every 20 seconds when outdoors....its a mess! havent been able to really play the game at all. look in the technic forum and you will be annoyed by how many people are facing problems. this game is so poorly programmed. it's out since 12 days now and no real patch (the ones they obtained are a joke) was designed. the game might really be good or even better than F3 but the bug numbers are so enormous that you can tell this game wasnt ready by 80 percent when they released it. nice.....thats the way tp deal with customers. but WTF: the ones who have it paid for it already and there is no chance of returning it back...thank you, bethesda and obsidian!

7 freezes in about 45 hours of gameplay which frankly is a lot less than fallout 3 and i can accept them because my autosave works fine no corrupt save games.

60 hours in I have about 5 freezes. Nothing to write home about, but still nothing to really complain about considering Fallout 3 froze on me much more than that.

90+ hours. 3 freezes. All 3 freezes were within the first 24 hours. After that, no problems.

One freeze for every 4-5hrs of play on my launch PS3. Unfortunately I'm just used to it now. I've mitigated it a bit by beating it to the punch and shutting down the PS3 if the common lagging starts to get noticeably worse. Once I actually had the game just CTD on my PS3. Something I didn't even think could happen. The game just blinked out and I was looking at the XMB. Weird. I put well over 100 hours in FO3 without a single crash before I downloaded the train wreck that was Broken Steel.

Since adding the FNV.exe to my DEP exeption list, and running the game via the .exe in admin mode, i haven't encountered any freezes or crashes.. But if i launch it through steam itself, it crashes 3 to 4 times per day.
