So how do you pronounce ED-E? Is it EEE DEE-EEE or Eddy? Or is it some other way that I don't know about?

Its a tomato thing really. My friends say Eddy, but I say EDE.

It's like the whole Caesar thing aswell. Call it what ever.

The characters in game pronounce it EEE DEE EEE, but I still call it Eddy.

And every time I hear Caesar's name said "properly" I think of a German king with a handlebar mustache and pointy helmet.

I think metal pack mule would be more accurate.

For some reason, I am inclined to pronounce it was "EDI", like in ME2. I played that game too much..

I would think EEE DEE EEE since it's most likely an abbreviation of something. But, they may have gotten clever and planned it for Eddy from the get go.

I tend to call it: What the hell are you doing robot

Or: Where the hell did you get legs to set of that damn trap robot

Well, that's because the German's derived their word for "Emperor" from the Latin "Caesar" just as the Ruskies did for their word "Tsar" which was originally "Czar", obviously derived again from "Caesar".

The thinking, in both instances, at the time was that claiming a title equal with the Roman Caesars made you more of an absolute badass though in reality these other "empires" were rubbish in comparison (to Ancient Rome).

The ironic is thing is that when these titles became in vogue a true Roman Caesar was still alive and ruling over Constantinope (until 1453, anywho). An even more interesting fact is that since the Byzantine Empire was a direct extension of the Roman Empire, and Byzantines referred to themselves as Romans (and why shouldn't they?), the Roman Senate existed as political body for nearly 2,000 years. Isn't that incredible?

I'm trying to teach myself to pronounce it Eddy but it always comes out as E-D-E in my head.

I call it 'Eee-Dee'. Like the the girl's name.


I also have been known to randomly throw hand grenades at it... so... I would take how I treat my eyebot friend as more of a... statement... and less of a guidine.

"That stupid flying scrap heap that constantly gets in random fights with non-hostile NPC's for no reason and forcing me to reload my last save!"
