If all else fails.. take it back, get your money back, and then install steam and buy it via through steam.

This is what I would do. I'm a big supporter of steam. And the game took me 1.5 hours to download on an ok connection, shouldn't take you that long at all.

You can't do that actually, even though I'd love to. I don't use Steam at all. If I'd seen the sale I would have waited.

I am also having the exact same issue as the OP. Bought the retail copy from Wal-mart last night and get to the same spot and I get "Invalid product code". My code is also in the XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX for the record.

Mortal Online is awesome. Or at least it has awesome ideas.

I bought a retail copy myself but it started downloading the files before I noticed what was happening. Since I have a good connection I didn't mind. No idea what could be wrong.

Thank you I enjoy many games and I pay in full if they commit, made a mistake with WoW.

11 level 85 characters in WoW.
7 level 90 characters in EQ2, 1 at 92. 5 with level 90 crafting.
Quit Vanguard like 5 months after it launched because everyone I played with quit and Thunderaxe was.... dead. I mean beyond dead.

I have entirely too much time to play games. Don't play EQ2 anymore, don't play WoW much anymore, but it's still paid, just in case I have that itch again. End of expansion lull svcks.

Awesome ideas...yes, absolutely. Did they implement them correctly....not even close....

If you want to see a ton of butt naked people (with full nudity...3D sausage fest) running around ganking other butt naked people, mortal online is for you!!!

The codes have probably been stolen... The games you got might be from the same batch and that batch of codes were stolen. Return the game and go to bestbuy or GameStop.

They can get that dealt with via Steam support(and I'm also thinking the keys were stolen.. WalMart and Gamestop are the two places I hear about it happening a lot or the online key resellers) when the weekend's over.

I preordered mine and it was in my hands right off the truck so there was no stolen key here... but I've seen it being a problem online.

Right off the truck I kid you not. I watched them drag the damned box out of the back room and slice it open myself. Was awesome seeing four huge ass boxes of Skyrim. lol

I have waited a long time for a vacation, I play games when I have the time to, but I wanted off this vacation to play games and here are my reasons:

1) Women can screw with your feelings, not fun.
2) I have no friends, so no fun.

3) Skyrim is fun, so it's fun.
4) I have 2 weeks off for gaming. I don't feel like doing jack [censored] except for gaming. Gaming makes me happy.

When you don't have much time you gotta either get loud or say [censored] it. So sorry to anyone I offended down the line of events, just the way it is.

I think would have to concur with Veryl. If both boxes keys are really "invalid" then they have been nicked. As he said get a refund and dont leave the store till you get one. If they refuse tell them you will report them to the police for fraud and theft, because thats exactly what it is.

Then come home and buy it direct from Steam;

http://store.steampowered.com/

You can get "free to play games" on steam. That gives you the steam app with direct access to the steam sales. I advise this offer;

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/15263/

Thats skyrim and a shedload of other Bethesda stuff for a bloody good price.

Why not? Most of us bought Skyrim through Steam directly.

They were encased in a plastic box with non-broken plastic wrapping around it with a security alarm system on each and every one. If you broke the cord it would alert every single person around you and even if you did get the key it sends a personal alarm to every employee's gps device to tell specifically where it is at all times. This is for every game in the store.

Yes but people at the printers can nick the codes before they even get put in the box and sealed.

Policy smolicy, its illegal to sell a knowingly defective product. Policy is nothing compared to the law. Demand your rights, and dont take no for an asnswer.

From Walmarts position, how can you proof that you did not open the boxes and already sold the (back then, still valid) key? No offense, but this is probably what they are going to say.

I'd try to get it solved with Steam support. I once dealt with them and they're pretty helpful.

They don't look in the box for the code. They use CD generators.

1) << female, I know how we are
2) I have a few. Most aren't local. Makes things a pain in the butt. Can't go shooting with your buddy that's four time zones away
3) yes, yes it is
4) having that kinda time off and not being able to play = svcks.

And yeah, I'm starting to think your store's being a bunch of tools. I'd flat out tell them that the key still doesn't work, refund money or I'm hitting up the cops, and that they might want to check their employees for jackwagons.

20 bucks says if this isn't Steam or user error, there's some little turdstain down at your WalMark jacking CD keys for his own personal jollies(resale, his buddies, etc). This tends to happen a lot(WalMart particularly I've noticed) with things like WoW online game cards. The card itself comes in a little cardboard box and a lot of people will activate, scratch the cards and put them back on the shelf. You then go to buy the card, they scan it, ring up the sale, and you get home to find the card doesn't work and you can't prove that it was like that before you left if you didn't look.

That's nothing, we sell games where I work, and skyrim arrived quite some time in advance of release. I saw many boxes like that one, I may have picked up several copies and basked in their glory...

Also contemplated nicking one, before deciding I value my job a little more than that :D

They take the key from the box before they put it in those little plastic security boxes.

It's not a random guy taking keys out of software, it's employees that do it.

Policy is that they can only exchange opened software, no returns. If he wants to return it, he has to send it and the receipt back to the publisher, typically. This is something they'd have to deal with Steam.

And I'd still file a police report after getting it dealt with. That WalMart most likely has a filcher working in it and they should take the little turd and fire him.
