My Khajiit is named Aziz, and is a humble cat whos family were freed slaves from Morrowind that turned to trading between that land and Cyrodil. His family were financially struggling, and being the eldest of his litter, he decided to strike out on his own to try and be one less mouth to feed, and maybe find his fortune to send back to his family. He has also adopted his family's warines of institutions, and hasn't joined any major factions, but he feels a kinship to those lower on the social ladder. He'll go to great lengths to help out those he feels need his help, but is loathe to throw in his lot with the Jarls, Imperials or Stormcloaks. He's mainly sticking to what he's learnt from his childhood - Archery, leatherworking (smithing), sneaking and one handed, and alchemy. No stealing, limited magic (mainly resto).

Also, I realise slavery was banned many many years ago, but his family has been in the trader business for a few generations now. With the volcano in Vvardenfell and the war in the Empire, they haven't been doing so well...

My character is a Dunmer, but she was born in Skyrim and grew up an orphan. (Yes, I know everyone likes tot assume I'm a refugee from Marrowind or something, but they never actually asked.)

Anyway, she joined the Thieves Guild, married an Orc, and later became an assassin. That's pretty much it, really. She doesn't care much for the whole Dragonborn thing, unless of course it involves gold.

Born an Imperial. Kind hearted as he helps the poor, has good attitude in all conversations, and hardly will rob or attack civilians. Though, he is a treasure collector and hoarder by blood. He will take any means to get more loot, as long as the victim doesnt know about it, and pay no mind to the latter if the price is right. While he loves to travel and explore, all to find the true story behind his involvement with Skyrim and the lore of TES, he does have to kill people. Whether for money or honor, never for sport. Though, he loves going on the hunt for various wild animals as a hobby.
Explores Skyrim and completes quests mainly as an Archer. All archery perks have been achieved. Tends to use stealth primarily in combat and exploring, as well as having the werewolf trait, he can get violently strong, as he also excels in two handed weapons. Very humble and curious still about his dragonborn ability, uses it only in dire instances. And restoration is his primary, and/or only, use of magic.
Sides with the empire in fighting off Ulfric's rebellion. Thane of Whiterun and Solitude, with property, respectively. Very prestigious in the Thieves Guild. Newly member in the Bards School. Apprentice in the Companions, and Winterhold College. Not known too well in Markarth and Dawnstar. Hes often visiting Falkreath and Riften, and exploring the rift.

Qjork Ice-Claw, a Nordic Warrior. A man of few words and a large axe, he roams the snowy planes of Skyrim in search of battle and honor.

Once a noble man on a noble quest, he was attacked by a vicious werewolf on his way to Solitude. He bested the foul beast, but he contracted Lycanthropy. Turned by evil, he now seeks vengeance on those who would call his kind "cursed", infecting and killing as he ravages the lands. He was blessed by the Daedric god Boethiah, and was rewarded with the Ebony Mail for his once-pure wicked heart.

Now, every time a full moon shatters the night sky, like a piercing eye, you had better get off the roads. For Qjork hunts, the "Smoke Wolf".

Dunmer Necromancer. That uses light armor and destruction magic with a bound sword. A member of the lost 6th house that wants to grasp the secrets of Sunder and Keening sufficiently to immortalize himself and continue the legacy set forth by lord Dagoth. He has asked for the aid of the Deadric Prince Vaermina to incite the populace and corrupt the living through use of the dreamscape to enter alternate realities in his quest to search for immortality and power over influence, or just cause some mayhem in the process of causing so many nightmares. In opposition to the empire and all her supporters and makes the dark brotherhood look weak in comparison since the dark brotherhood serves sithis and the people that employ them. The necromancer is in the service of conquest and immortality.

Two characters at the moment:

Originally an Argonian thief who discovered his talent for killing after some failed quest for the guild. He soon became a member of the family (DB). In fact, he was so talented that he made quite the career there and is now the leader. He has some kind of a second life. While he fulfills his contracts with deaadly precision, he is pretty friendly most of the time. As long as people treat him well and are not part of a contract, he is a valuable member of society. He never leaves any traces and witnesses to change that. He couldn't care less about politics and this Dragonborn business. He sees the civil war more as an opportunity than anything else and does not feel any responsibility for the people of Skyrim, so he denied the call from the Greybeards. He stumbled across some Daedric artifacts on his way and is intrigued by the power they are able to provide. It is assumed that he won't keep to be the "friendly Argonian neighbour" and will change for the worse...
He knows how to keep his weapons sharp (a smith keeps an eye on his tools, right?) and hates magic. Since he never cared about him being a dragonborn he doesn't now a thing about the shouts and this unnatural power is nothing he wants to meddle with. In one situation though he used a shout that made his fighting become much more agile and faster without him wanting to. Seems that when he gets into life threatening situations, his subconscious takes over, activating some deep buried power (much like an adrenalin shot).

Frustrated with the absence of an institution for mages to develop their skills back in Elseweyr, the Khajiit Enchantress went after a fellow mage who made his way to the College of Winterhold in Skyrim's north. She was wondering why J'zargo would go to Skyrim since the Nord are not famous for their friendlyness toward her kin, especially if they are skilled in the arts of magic. Arriving in the college though her focus shifted fast towards what she experienced there. She is a very kind character, tries to help where she can and is also a bit naive, always believing people's intentions are good. She still tries to figure out why SHE has been chosen to be a Dragonborn but won't step back from her faith. She made her way up the 7.000 steps to investigate her role further and is now more than ever convinced that these lands need help!
She also does not meddle with necromancy and illusion.

Both characters are still developing. I personnally never know exactly which steps they will take and in what direction they will develop. I just take some assumptions when starting (friendly, egoistic, ...?) and a general playstyle and go from there.

Im actually torn on characters right now, and if anyone had any feedback, I wouldn't mind it right now.

My original character was a Breton named Thadious, loosely based on a character of my own fiction. Would be considered "lawful good" (although I did make some morally wrong choices like killing the priest of boethia to obtain the Mace of Molag Bal).

The basic archetype was a Shadow Knight (heavy armor warrior skilled in Necromancy) with a more specific roleplay being that he could manipulate souls to his will, reanimating dead bodies to serve him, harvest the souls of his victims and use them to imbue his gear with magical properties and essentially make him stronger. Even though he was skilled in dark powers, he aimed to use them for good, and control his powers and not become corrupted by them. (his polar opposite is Khulain, my character I used in Oblivion, who became corrupted by his powers and his only desire was ultimate power).

Specific skills for Thadious were One Handed (blade and dual wield focus), Heavy Armor, Conjuration (Necromancy focus), Enchanting, Alteration, Restoration, Smithing, as well as some Speech (persuasion focus).

Unfortunately I lost this character - level 38, 95 hours, had completed the main quest, College of Winterhold, and nearing the end of the Civil War (Imperial Legion).

So I've had to start over. I wanted to recreate the character, because I really enjoyed the experience. In my attempts, I've discovered that I really like Illusion, particularly Frenzy spells, and have incorporated them into the playstyle. This includes a lot of sneaking around to make sure I am undetected, and my enemies target each other after Frenzy and not me. I then send in companions, raised servants, and myself, equipped in heavy armor and further protected with Shield spells, to clean up the mess.

Problem is, sneaking around and mental domination isn't part of who this character is - at least the fictional character I have based him off of.

It is a part of another character of my own fiction, however, a character who I originally intended to play in Skyrim. A "correction" of my Morrowind character, if you will.

A Wood Elf, with very similar skills as Thadious (a heavy armored Necromancer) also skilled in mental domination (originally I wanted Command spells, with a focus on creatures for a Druid style roleplay, but that didn't work out). Sneaking around would be in character, as he is an assassin of sorts (although with Heavy Armor I won't be doing much traditional assassinating, as I won't be perking my character to that style of play).

So, the new skillset would be largely the same, but different enough for me to warrant being a different build and character. Heavy focus in One Handed, Conjuration (Necromancy), Illusion, and Enchanting, with support from Alteration, Restoration, Heavy Armor, and Smithing. (That is a lot of skills, but I have my 50 level plan all worked out).

Sounds great, right? Problem is, I simply put like Bretons better than Wood Elves. I simply put like the Thadious character more than the Marr'Taan character (the name of my Wood Elf character). And the build is just out of character enough for Thadious that it doesn't feel right playing him.

So that's my conundrum. Its the build that I want to play, but I dont feel right playing it either way, because it doesn't fit the Breton, but I like the Breton better than the Wood Elf. So im not exactly sure what I wanna do.

what is confusing about the whole thing is you like the breton more than the wood elf yet i don't see why you can't just play whatever build you want with whatever race you want. To me what you describe fits the breton's beginning characteristics closer than a wood elf. Take my character. I chose a dunmer simply because of the lore I want, which is my own roleplay but also because I planned to use a one hand and destruction along with conjuration and bound sword. The races are simply aesthetic in character in this game where the only real difference is special abilities or resistances and what points they generally start with. You can basically use any race for any build because you can level any skill you want to any level. Also to me a breton is the best race for necromancer imo.

Lord Kain, the Altmer sorcerer, desires only power and how to acquire more of it. Sitting as the head of the College of Winterhold and banishing [spoiler[Alduin[/spoiler] has only increased his influence on people. Now he has turned to consolidate his power and influence over the province of Skyrim. Joining the Brotherhood and making friends with the Thieves Guild only strengthens his position. His ultimate goal? The throne, in which he will then reveal his true allegiances.....

Nord Spellsword: Smas ( Im unoriginal I know).
Sided with stormcloaks in order to strengthen Skyrim. Has under various aliases risen to the top of all factions in order to strengthen his influece of tamriel. Will seek to unite with the empire once a new emperor ( a strong one ) has been crowned ( the weaker ones offed by the Dark brotherhood at my order). Will take the fight to the thalmor in a whole Tamriel spanning war and will then settle down in Windhelm to listen Aela saying "good to see you dear" a few dozen times a day.

Oh I get all that, Jarik, my specific problem is that most of my characters are typically based off of characters within my own fiction. And I guess, if I just made a random Breton not based off of one of my characters, I wouldn't have the emotional attachment to him.

But I acknowledge that's a personal, OCD thing.

Hjoldir the Beastmaster is basically a sneakless ranger who makes heavy use of the animal shouts. I wish I could use Meeko but companions are just too darn stupid and immersion-breaking. His ongoing tale is linked in my sig.

Also thinking of starting either a Breton Bard (would make for an awesome tale filled with poetry), or a Redguard gladiator.

I understand completely. Hope you come to some type of compromise. I'm attached to dunmer myself for the moment. The whole great house thing and Morrowind lore. I started playing morrwind a few weeks ago. lol

I've got 3 characters, the first 2 are just feeling out the game, I do that on all Bethesda games,

My Character
Race:Khajiit male
Name: Quam'del the Cunning

WARNING this character is extremely ratty! WARNING

1st things 1st, he's an idiot, a very skilled sociopathic idiot. He was born in Elsweyr, but his story starts in Cyrodiil. The people there called him something else(insert dirty word here), instead of Cunning, which he got that from his days as a pirate. After the mutiny, and a binge on skooma, he ends up in Cyrodiil. He had this skooma infused epiphany, he wants to contract lycanthropy which turned into an obsession, Anyway he gets befriended by an Imperial family near the border, they inform him there's rumors of werewolves in Skyrim, and so his journey begins.

He has no care no intentions of this Fire-lizard-kin nonsense. He has yet to become a werewolf, the people of Skyrim are already regretting his arrival, unless you mention monies right off the bat he has a tendency of screwing up, or getting ahead as he views it. (Some lover boy wanted a note to be dropped off to a woman, he gave the woman the note, then murdered her, stripped her, sent her body down the river and expected payment of a job well done.)

His loyalties are only to the Khajiit caravans, people who deal with them, and the thieves guild. Maiq the Liar is a good friend of his who taught him how to love the small things in life. He has aspirations of depansting the entire hold of Whiterun for making his kind stay outside the walls, he figures they wont feel warm and safer when they are all in their under covers.

Forgot to mention, his crew decided to mutiny after an event that happend when dealing with a Master shock mage. He has random discharges of electricity, which ends up costing him quite the many septims when it occurs inside towns.

It's said that the little girl of that friendly Imperial family whispered as Quam'del left them, "There goes Quam'del... The only kitty to ever want to be puppy faced..."

He's a blast 2 play, i recommend trying out a character that at his base, a complete moron and sociopath.

My Nord is a warrior that was sent to Skyrim through a magical portal that his father created when his home in Cyrodill was attacked by Assassins and his family was butchered. He is the only survivor. Shortly after appearing in Skyrim he fell into a coma due to the wounds he recieved from the battle at his farm. He was recovered by Stormcloaks who healed him, though before he was well enough to leave the camp Imperials attacked and captured them sending him to Helgen to be executed. That was were he saw a dragon for the first time.

From that time he joined the Companions and defeated Alduin and saved the world as well as joining the Stormcloaks and defeating the Imperials as they were the only ones to treat him well. He may not agree with Ulfric completly, he does believe that the Stormcloaks are fighting for good reasons and hates the Thalmor with a burning passion. He searched out the Dark Brotherhood after the assassins tracked him to Skyrim and destroyed it once and for all. He has started to experiment in magic though he finds he does not have a strong aptitude for it, unlike his father who was a master of Conjuration and Alteration. He finds he can work Conjuration spells best and he finds Destruction magic the hardest to master.

He has become a Werewolf as he is a strong believer and follower of Hircine and revels in the hunt. Every so often he has been rumoured to be seen roaming the wilds with his wife, Aela the Huntress, hunting wild animals and bandits. Although he is considered a beast by modern day society he is good hearted and will save any travellers in distress.

Thats my main Nord character, my first character in Skyrim.

3 characters so far.

Death - A sneaky amoral and asixual woodelf who really only cares about himself and gold. Uses duel wield and a bow to great effect. Hates foxes and will actively hunt them down with arrows.

Anus - An evil mage who likes to kill whenever possible. Unlikely to marry as it wouldnt last long. Only uses magic and focusses on Conj and Destr. Enjoys creating fear and confusion. Not necessarily concerned with his own power but despises all other forms of life. Likes to pull the wings from butterflies. Hates both foxes and rabbits and likes using fire to elimiate them from a distance.

Jorah - New character last night. 2h and heavy armored nord who will join with the stormcloaks as soon as he can. Fears magic and will not use it in any form including enchanting etc. Probably will hate foxes but only from a distance as he'll be too big and slow to do anything about it. Tried to kill a rabbit nearby last night but was embarrased by its agility. Think I might make him gay too

my main is an argonian assassin named black-birds-cry who is kind to all living creatures, okay, not really, but he a nice guy and likes animals. he joined the brotherhood so he could kill marks and make friends with the other assassins. he is trusting but not naive in the slightest, he knows when soemone is scamming him and he will stab that person in the town square to make a point about trying to abuse someone's trust. usually he will do whatever he thinks is fun and, when helping people, rarely asks for a reward. he is chaotic neutral

I think I'll post my second character, Ayra's, information as well.

Ayra is a Wood Elf that is nearly 100 years old but due to an excellent diet and a strong connection with magic looks young by human standards. She is very gifted in magic and practices Destruction magic and Illusion magic. She is also gifted in Archery and can sneak up on almost anything without being discovered. She also has a strong understanding of Alchemy which is part of the reason that she looks so young. She avoids confrontation with wild animals such as wolves and bears as often as possible and when she is attacked by wild animals she attempts to calm them with her Illusion spells. She has a deep hatred for unnatural creatures such as Trolls and Ice Wraiths and will never try to calm such monsters.

She also has little time for people that are not Wood Elves and will get irritated with people quickly. She can be rude and short with people, especially if they dont get to the point. She has not killed any people for irritating her yet, though she has come close before. She also dislikes the Stormcloaks as she see's their leader as a racist idiotic fool and plans to join the Legion after she has mastered her skills in magic.

Thats all so far, she's a fairly new character that is still developing.

Daiyus gro-Dyyg, born in Orsinium, he always found himself exploring the city. Being an Orc he picked up the skills of Blacksmithing and Combat early. As he grew he found a subtle affinity for magic so he learned some basic Alteration and Restoration to help him as he explored. Once grown up he left Orsinium when his father died, he was the only thing stopping Daiyus following he calling. With only an Axe, a bow, and some basic Leather Armour he found himself in Cyrodiil, where his sense of adventure got him locked up. He wasn't doing anything illegal, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

After a few years in prison he was shipped to Morrowind, by the emperors decree. He started working for the blades, and found out he was really the Nerevarine. He also worked in the Mages and Fighters guild. After being attacked by the Dark Brotherhood he made his way to Mournhold, where he discovered Almalexia's corruption and killed her. He also travelled to Solstheim and defeated an aspect of Hircine.

Wanting to leave the fame behind he then faked a trip to Akivir, and instead went to Cyrodiil (thanks to an alternate start mod). He found the Amulet of Kings on a dead adventurer, and got dragged into the Oblivion Crisis. After defeating Mehrunes Dagon he did some work for the Fighters and Mages guilds, but was eventually drawn to the Isles. A new place where no-one would know his great deeds. Of course that plan backfired and he became Sheogorath. After two hundred years he passed the Mantle of Madgod to his assistant, Haskill. Feeling the urge to return home he headed for Orsinium, via Skyrim. On the borders of Skyrim he was caught in an ambush, and awoke in a cart. He forgave the Empire, and is currently a member of the Companions and heading to join the College of Winterhold.

I'm playing a femal Khajiit who's stealthy, but no thief. She doesn't sell much and has little use for vendors, so she just picks up things that are better than what she has and dabbles in making potions, smithing, those sorts of things. Neither she nor I is really interested in the politics, couldn't care less about Companions, Thieves, or Magicians, so pretty much has very little to do in Skyrim.

Basically, she's just trying to survive and find her way back to the warm sands of home.

I'm currently running quite a few, to fit in with different factions, towns and fighting styles.

J'Vari, Khajiit Thief/Assassin - Dual Wielding Swords or Knives (Depending on what he can find). Based out of Riften. Thieves Guild Member. Probably will do the Dark Brotherhood too.

Fimmion, Wood Elf Hunter - Pure Archery. Has a knife as back-up. Hasn't used it. Based out of Whiterun. Member of The Companions.

Ogrul gro-Khadba, Or Mercenary - Two Handed Weapons and Heavy armour. A bit of Smithing too. Based out of Markarth.

Olda Wolf-Runner, female Nord Warrior - Sword and Shield, Light armour. Aiming to be based out of Windhelm, when she gets up there. Member of The Companions. Stormcloak.

Cassius Loran, Imperial Battlemage - Dual Wielding Magic, but wearing Heavy Armour. Will be based out of Solitude when he gets up there. And will be joining the Mages College.

I've got more details on all of them, posted up here: http://thearrowtomyknee.blogspot.com/

Breton monk: (pasifist build)
My name is Junt Evalion and Illusion magic like muffle and calm spells are my weapons. With them i seek to return balence to the world i will not harm a liveing thing nor will i desturb the dead for the only rath i will unlease is to banish daedra from our world. I have almost lived a life time of pease but what is pease when so much around you lay in ruin, in my twlight years i journey farward into the void, i try maybe invain to make a difference, it has not comsummed me yet, dare i banish it!

With this character i pumped sneak up to 40 in helgen then traveled riften and pumped speech to 40, i bought spells to suit my build then i traveled to the northan docks of skyrim and started my journay as if id just self a boat to skyrim. I started walking a pilgramig in search of knowledge i practised my illusion skills perched on the cliffs on the lands i had reach 40 in illusion and i though i could make a different i though i was ready so i set off to winterhold to see what i could acomplish...
Unfortunitly in no time id lead to the indirect death of a mage, and the desicration of a buryed king, there death was not truly on my hands i did not kill them it was the result of horrid daedra worship and summoning by her own actions, (just to stop me returning some old books such a waste) and i only watched as a long dead hero in a bleak barrow was torn down by the very hidden blades designed to keep him safe, but still i trod the route of there dimise.
I returned the knowledge i had gathered to the college and set out on my pilgramig once more, i climbing the highest peak in the lands, in search of answers but i heard nothing only silence, and so i perched, i listened, i honed that silenced with my magic and there i waited for insight to enlightenment...
Maybe a few days had past but I found it, now mastering illusion magics i head back with new purpose, could i truly make a difference.

As we speak i catch my breath at the base of a dwemer civilisation lost to time in search of staff of power, that i can hopefully control any evils it presents, and make a difference that is not invain.

So yeah, my pasifist monk, he dosnt kill, but he strives still to save the day but it can be hard, ive found it fun and would recomend it to others. no summoning no companions, silence and tranquility are my weapons. ive not been fast traveling(well i did use carages to set up the character but thats because i wanted to be an old monk with some exsperiemce and not start from helgen.) either and it has been refreshing its really set the mood.
