Johnny Guitar

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 11:37 am

is it just me or does that song Johnny Guitar play Every other song.

it also seems like i am hearing the same music over and over again. (johnny guitar and heartache by the dozen) i actually kinda like heartache by the dozen though.

im just saying it seems more like a glitch then that this was done on purpose, but because of that Johnny Guitar song i almost never turn on the radio

the radio stations just don't have enough songs that's the only issue i have with them.
Decent enough music just not nearly enough content. so i have to use my own music in background.

I'm getting sick of "Johnny Guitar" as well. It feels like Fallout 3 had many more songs, and also had much catchier songs. The only song I really like listening to is "Blue Moon".

I also constantly hear "Big Iron", fortunately I like that song. (put it on my MP3 player)

I think FO3 didn't necessarily have more songs, but the songs were concentrated in a smaller number of stations. NV seems to spread them out over different stations so if you listen to Radio New Vegas all the time, you'll hear that playlist over and over again.

there are a couple songs that im loving (heartache by the dozen, blue moon, jingle jangle)

but the one that i hate the most is the one that comes on most frequently. i hope that there is a free radio DLC. i miss "maybe"

We're not hearing most of the songs that came with the game because the radio is bugged. In another thread Swish Lizard gave the location of the MP3 files and suggested running them through a player. I did this and was amazed. There is darned good music in those file. Including some beautiful classical pieces and a Fallout themed parody of Home on the Range.

I agree, the same two songs on cycle are driving me crazy... ever since the 2nd play through I was thinking "oh [censored] god, please release more songs in DLC content"... but I doubt that will happen.

Yeah, been reading about this, that's a huge bummer. I definitely get the same 4 or 5 songs over and over again, maybe they'll get it patched. Seems like it'd be a huge waste of hard spent cash on licensing if they don't.

You do get to hear the Home on the Range parody in-game, go to the Aces Theater in The Tops when you get that far in the game, talk to a dude with an eyepatch.

Couldn't agree more. Johnny Guitar is so depressing and drawn out, somehow. I always change the station when it starts, and hope for my favourites "Let's Ride Into the Sunset Together" or "The Shadow of the Valley" to play.

They seriously need to add like 100 songs (remember there's 3 stations, they already share too many songs as it is)

I'm sorry but I totally disagree concerning the songs. I find them pretty cool and ''Blue Moon'' and Johnny Guitar are my favorites.

The songs in fallout 3 was a kind of mixed bag, I liked '' I Don't want to set the world on fire'' and more but mighty man was just awefull.

I agree that the songs in fallout 3 were more catchy but saying out loud : ''Mungo mumbo Jungo'' at least once per day is annyoing. :)

As I leveled up I found that more songs were available. I heard songs on New Vegas Radio that I hadn't heard before even when I watched my brother play on level 5. They would play Big Iron over and over. It took me an hour before I heard Johnny Guitar which, in my opinion is the best song in the game so I'm not bothered.

Oh yeah, Conelrad is great. Not just a play list but also a history lesson.

There are actually more songs in NV than there was in F3, its just the way the spread out among the three stations(Stupid idea)so if you have been playing for five hours while listing to the same station of course your gonna hear the same song more than once.

Also, for some reason not all of the songs are being used, theres something like 40 ish songs, and only about 30 or so are being used.

This bug is killing me. I've *never* heard Streets of New Reno in-game, and it's pretty great.

Johnny Guitar is my sh*t.

I don't listen to any of the radio stations in New Vegas.. I just hear things through background music and other people's radios playing, so nothing really gets played out for me.

I liked it the first 20 times I heard it, but after that I grew tired of it. Too bad there is no way to unpack the music files on the xbox.

I'm not so sure it's a bug. Someone tried to look at the script in the GECK and it appears everything is in order (http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1127629-radio-bugfix/). It probably just seems like we're not hearing everything because the songs are scattered across multiple radio stations and locations.

If you're on a PC, this mod rebalances the songs to give you more variety.

There's also a couple more radio stations over on Nexus.

I don't understand how the development team can fail so hard when it comes to music. They had an opportunity to give frank sinatra, dean martin, and the rest of the rat pack to a whole new generation of kids that had never heard it... yet they chose 3 songs that while catchy, have nothing to do with vegas.

The rat pack defines the years this game is supposedly stuck in, not to mention 1940s VEGAS. They only have on song; bluemoon? How can you fumble that hard. The game has a friggin built in mp3 player basically yet a play can hear every song the game has to offer in less then thirty minutes. It just blows my mind.
