Hm. The controls are very clunky on the PC. I didn't do much in that 30 minutes other than throw people around with the tether, hijack cars, jump out of a helicopter, forget to use the parachute, and die. I ran out of ammo in about two minutes and couldn't find anymore. I'll probably end up getting it for the 360 if I do get it. My computer doesn't like letting it run smoothly :[

I had all the problems you listed (especially the part about my PC hating it.) So I downloaded the demo on my ps3. I think it's actually a lot better on console.

Well, the island is restricted, but it's, I think something like 30 some odd square miles.

It's really big. Takes almost a minute to fly across in a plane. The whole game is like 400+ square miles.

i've played the demo (and by the way, I can confirm that there are in fact two planes. One flys around randomly) and the game world doesn't seem very big. I have a hard time believing it is 30 miles. I'm gonna try to do the time glitch later and do more with it.

1) Turn the graphics all the way down. It still looks great and will play a lot better.
2) Play more than just once through the demo. I didn't do much my first time, but as you become more familiar with the controls and locations, you'll be able to accomplish more.
3) Learn to use the black market. Cause lots of chaos (water towers and gas stations are easy pickings), then use 4 and E to call in the black market helicopter. Purchase ammo and vehicles from there.
4) Set a goal each play through. Tether cars to the ground as they're chasing you. Destroy all the water towers. Hijack 4 helicopters. All that will help you get used to the controls and game.

1) I did. I can handle the majority of games I have on the PC on the highest settings, but my computer does not like this game.
2) Will do. Tried using the glitch, but have no idea how. You pause at one second; then what?
3) OK. I only got like 200 chaos points in that 30 minutes. Was having too much fun with the tether. My lack of ammo didn't help.
4) Goal #1: Remember to use parachute when falling out of a helicopter.

1) I have noticed that this game is very demanding, but also very optimized for DX10/11. I was playing at the full blast settings (my specs are in my profile) and only slowed down from 25fps when alot of stuff happened at once.
2) I haven't figured out how to get the glitch to work either. Also, milestone accomplishments (10 headshots, free falling distance, hijacks) increase the demo time.
3) The tether is fun and can cause the chaos you need. Get some "cops" following you, stunt jump onto your roof, and tether the car chasing you to the ground. It'll flip. Very satisfying, too haha.
4) Haha, I did that my first base jump off the starting area. Face plant, tumble tumble, sliiiiiiiiide.

I'm the opposite of a lot of you guys: I actually find the PC controls better than my Xbox's controls. I just wish there was multiplayer, having someone drive while I am on top of a car would be awesome!

I love going out into the middle of the map, in the more desert area, and just jumping on cars to be transported from settlement to settlement, causing chaos along the way. Never gets old. :hehe:

I love using the mounted gun detached, you're unstoppable. It takes down helicopters in half a second.

I've shot down helicopters and I've hijacked them. Now I just need to tether one to the ground and crash it haha.

Anyone else get REALLY annoyed with the motorcycle police guys? They stick to you like glue and shoot the crap outta you. Annoying like buggers. I tether them to the ground and watch 'em flail...

I like the grappling hook...

Tether a plane or car to a helicopter, go up as high as you can, and see if you can get inside the plane before it hits the ground. I tried but the plane just disappeared before I could get to it.

I'm glad to see you can tether things to helicopters. I tried tether a car (couldn't take off, crashed) and a person (the tether came undone and the person disappeared) to the plane, but neither worked.

Um...why do all the enemies sound like they're Chinese? Even the music sometimes sounds Chinese. What the hell?

The Chinese, Germans and Russians are always evil in video games, don't you know that?

Played the demo and I'm really liking it, the shooting reminds me of Red Faction, as does some other things, but I hope the missions will be higher quality, and the parachute and grappling hook are big plusses.. I think this will go on my list of day 1 purchases.... That list is already very big this year, I think I've already bought a dozen games since Jan 1st, and every time I look at the new games page at GiantBomb, the list gets bigger...... So many games to play and sooo little time......

I tried playing on PC, and my computer could only handle it comfortably with everything on low, yet it still looked great. My only problem is the PC controls feel very...slippery. Is there any way around this?

Loved the original. Unfortunately, my pc can't handle the sequel. I'll be borrowing a 360 come release. Can't wait. :dancing:

Go into settings and mess around with the X and Y sensitivities. Also, play around a little with the "Mouse Smoothing" option, some people like it but I hated it, made the mouse feel clunky. Once I turned it off everything was great.

Other than that, it is just getting used to it. Like I've said, I hated the PC controls at first, but after two or three 30 minute plays, you will get used to it.

The demo's pretty damn fun but the time limit doesn't give you enough time to do everything you want to do. I flew a helicopter as high as it would go, jumped out, and fell for five minutes. Can't wait for the full game to come out.

This is my favorite mini game ever. I actually succeeded in getting back in, sadly it just spins out of control no matter what you do. I eventually just crashed and died, but it was sooo damn fun! This game is amazing so far, I just wish the mission had a "point"...it seems too open right now, I might get bored with that.

Is the opening video in like, slow motion, with horrible lip syncing for anyone else? I can play the game smoothly on high settings (PC obviously) but the videos just run/look like crap.

Because it takes place somewhere in southeast asia maybe? I don't know why everyone thinks this takes place in central america. All the muslim women would have been a tipoff...
