Just Cause 2 Discussion

I'm gonna get a CPU and GPU upgrade soon (after tax returns?) and I won't even think about this game before then lol. I wanna be able to record my crazy antics and playing on low low low, recording dropped me to 15fps (Fraps was at 30fps, half screen).

Nice. See I can probably max it out fine with decent fps, it's just that I have XP...

They've done a good job optimizing it. I can't even run L4D2 full blast, but I had this almost maxed out and was fine until like 2 cars, a couple motorcycles and gunshots were all happening around me lol. Just, all that and recording would take too much of a toll.

Yep sadly it's only for Vista/7....

Oh...that is terribly annoying.

Ah well.

I only have two issues with the demo.

-The grapple line is way to weak, it breaks sometimes when you teather a body to a moving car.
-Anything can go through the grapple line, don't you wish you could built sometype of tripwire and make the motorcycle dudes fly off their vehicle?

Try and get the car as it's passing. I was only able to do it once, and the guy stopped driving cause he freaked out, but if the car's moving away from you, that might cause the break.

And yeah, that would be really cool, but can you hook a wall to a wall?

Yep, then when you tap LB(or L1 I think for ps3) it'll break the line.

EDIT: Nevermind, you can't upgrade it, that guy thought it said grapple when it was a vehicle upgrade...

Holy [censored]. Playing this game makes me feel like the biggest badass in the history of badasses. Grappling from building to building, blowing up everything you see, walking around a military base with a minigun... :toughninja:

Tip: After unlocking the Black Market, respawn at the mountaintop base. Order a dirtbike from the Blackmarket, and try to make it down the mountain alive. Not enough of a challenge? Attach a propane tank to the bike. If the tank takes too much damage...

It's an open world, free roam third person shooter, and the demo has a large area accessible. The only restriction is that you can only play it in 30 minute intervals, after 30 minutes you have to start at the "beginning" with your basic weaponry and such.

Anyone get to the top of the radio tower on the mountain above the starting area?

http://i48.tinypic.com/muwksy.jpg. Then I http://i45.tinypic.com/2irw51v.jpg (check out the Base Jump stat). Then I blew it up by running a helicopter into it twice. It was freakin' amazing.

I got a video of me jumping off. Lemme see how smooth it is.

Crap...I got video of the one where I'm still hanging on with my grappling hook, so it doesn't count as a "base jump". I also jump off the other side for the base jump, so I don't know which way is higher. Arg.

Wow...so LAME. I keep trying to latch a guy onto my helicopter and then take it up, or latch him to my car and drive off, but the stupid grapple always breaks in two damn seconds! :swear: Is there a way to fix this or upgrade it?

Wow. I absolutely LOVE THIS GAME! I've spent about an hour on both the PC and Xbox version, and I have to say that the PC version is a lot better. The controls are clunky at first, but once you get used to it, it's sooooo much easier to use than an Xbox controller. No doubt in my mind I will buy this game, it's absolutely perfect!

Just pre-order it earlier at gamestop.

Yeah, I really hope they fix the grapple in the full game, I'm pretty stressed about it.

I've only had it break when trying to latch to things moving really fast (the ground as I'm parachuting quickly, car going the other way). People on the JC2 forums are saying the same thing about it breaking. I know that when you see the little square appear around your reticle, the grappling hook is good to go. I don't know what else to say :(

The demo's pretty damn fun but the time limit doesn't give you enough time to do everything you want to do. I flew a helicopter as high as it would go, jumped out, and fell for five minutes. Can't wait for the full game to come out.

Here's a pretty fun challenge:

1. Get a helicopter that allows you to open your parachute in it.

2. When you get pretty high open your parachute

3. look down and when you see the helicopter close your parachute

4. then skydive down and try and get back in it before it hits the ground.

Still haven't been successful.

EDIT: typo

Where is a helicopter at? Or do I have to hijack one that is flying by.

There's one without guns right near the base where you start, up in the mountains. You should see a red radio tower.

And there's one with guns at a base at the bottom of the mountain. Go down and turn left down the road and the first settlement you find will have a pad with an armed helicopter.

Just found out a way out get rid of the timer using a glitch.

Die just when the time is about to run out, then you'll have no respawns, but you'll have infinite time.

Note: Not sure if it works for sure I'm trying it later anyway.

Hah, I knew something like this would happen. (That is, if the glitch actually works.)

There's another glitch that's been confirmed to work(on xbox360). I didn't post it cuz it sounds kinda complicated.

Here's the http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=102346.

He's got youtube videos in the thread though.

Highest base jump spot I know of: Top of the radio tower near where you start. I got 446 meters.

I put together a little tutorial :D
