So I just finished another playthrough of Mass Effect 2.....

You've never played either of the ME games, have you?

That's because your reading comprehension seems to be a bit low. Mediocre does not equal bad. The game had good parts it had bad parts and it had mediocre parts, yet some people praise it like it was pure genius. We're just trying to point out that that is clearly not the case.

Again, you seem like you have some problems with reading. There isn't any hate going around at all. People are just looking at the game critically. It has nothing to do with it not being TES. If you read the threads around here you'll see that this forum's users seem to have as much of an interest in shooters as they do RPGs, if not more.

So you instantly jump into pointless attacks and stupidity...but yeah, there's no unjustified hate towards the game in this topic. Did you read some of the first posts?

I've read many many threads here, not many people even mention shooters. In fact, I'm one of the few that I've ever seen do it.

ME2 is definitely one of the best games I've ever played, that said I have high hopes for Skyrim!

It's not pointless if I enjoyed it. There was clearly no stupidity either. The first posts were of a humorous nature.

If you've read any of the threads on here talking about what other games people like or are looking forward to, it's mostly shooters.

And I remember why I fell in love with the game. I never felt so involved in a video game than Mass Effect 2. It was the most captivating video game experience I had ever played. The presentation, visuals, voice acting, and drama kept me wanting to play it more and more. I'm afraid that in Skyrim I will not be as in touch with my character as I was in ME2. The gameplay may be great and fantastic, but I may get bored if the dialogue scenes and the plot lines are boring and suffer. Anyone else feel the same way?

Umm no. Bioware is telling a great story with Mass Effect and it is a great ACTION game. They are now backtracking against outstanding complaints from customers and are scrambling to add some measure of gameplay depth. Bioware is not Black Isle and so they will fail at making RPG's until they change leadership. That being said they will not be able to hold a candle to the worst BGS title in terms of gameplay depth.

Shepard is easier to relate to because you can read/see his emotions and how he feels and acts, also he has a voice while the Dragonborn can only grunt and yell and can only listen to replies from the box options. Also in ME Shepherd is sort of the center of the universe, he is a

Shephard is built to be relatable. The TES series doesn't stand out in all aspects of great games but is a combination of many. Biowares development is centered around telling a good story and that is pretty much it. TES is one of the few games that still lets you actively use your imagination and is centered around fun gameplay, exploration, and a bit of story thrown in. That being said there are a [censored]-ton of mindless f@nboys here refusing to listen to critisism and bleat like mindless sheep.

A little off-topic... BG was one of my favorite games growing up, but I liked Mass Effect much more than I did Dragon Age. I felt like Mass Effect had a much better balanced drama and humor, more memorable party members, and just felt like it better captured the feeling of adventure. I never finished Dragon Age because I just didn't really care how the game ended, or what happened to the characters.

Welcome to the world of "Corporate Integration". The Bioware team has fully embraced Sigma values for making a product cheaper. Mass Effect highlighted both good and bad points of the system, Dragon Age (especially DA2) highlited all of the bad points of the system. That is why you never cared or finished the game. I don't think I did either for that matter.

I certainly understand why this was initially posted in Skyrim General, but at this point the conversation is largely general and CD seems like a better home for it.
