The Creation Kit received an update a while ago. It's 1.5 now for me.

But now Skyrim won't load past the dragon emblem at the start.

Well, I just popped the game open for a quick look around. Good news: nothing exploded. Also, the new improvements to the water visuals http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/504641629020911897/969AB25B76CA6422C3FCC31E6A21E096C9FA4345/

The not so good: there doesn't seem to be a way to disable the new grass shadows in the launcher. I'm hoping there's something in the ini. Also, I swear, every update makes the shadows in my game look progressively worse. :stare: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/504641629020912986/727F01CED675B5D02E5BDDB6DEC0280ECC6C2016/ on semi-distant shadows. Check out the weird circular bands on the bridge's apex there.

That's with shadows set to Medium, everything else set to Ultra, no ini tweaks whatsoever.

Thanks to the grass shadows, my good ol' PC can finally not handle Skyrim anymore, yay!

See, things like this are why shiny new graphics features really need an off switch. It's lovely for the people who have PCs that can handle it, not so lovely for those that don't.

I'm not noticing a performance hit on my end, but I still want them off. It's a waste of system resources I'd rather spend on texture mods and other assorted shinies.

Yeah, I'm getting a lot of "after effects" from the shadows on grass/bushes.

I know what you mean but I'm pretty much used to things like these as PC gamer now. It's just odd that I can still run Crysis 2 but Skyrim keeps crashing and even way older games like Prototype.

Has it been sorted out so we can use NMM and BOSS to order our mods?

I was thinking either tons of active quests, or the Stones of Barenziah map marker mod.

I have the same issues. I handle Crysis, Battefield, Just Cause 2 and everything. But I have problems with Skyrim and older games. (Also, my Medium Oblivion runs worse than Ultra Skyrim)

It must have to do with how those games are specially focused on graphics (Specially Crysis 2) so they are uber-optimazed. At least that's my theory.

Skyrim is set to not auto update, yet Steam decides to delete my TESV.exe and makes it so I have to download the update anyway, along with the CK.

Not cool.

!.5 is causing me to CTD at random Skyrim is unplayable now. The bad part is I like all my mods I don't want to have to give up anything. Hopefully the modders update their mods tonight!

Better optimizing by developers mostly, and most shooters consist of relatively small maps compared to TES titles (safe for Just Cause 2 of course). My OB is also worse than Skyrim, so Beth at least tried a little optimizing this time.

I hate to say this, but as soon as no multiplayer is involved, developers tend to get lazy with their engine. Having nagging singleplayer RPG fans is one thing, but I know that the multiplayer crowd can get a little more nasty.

Now that I'm updated to 1.5, shadows flicker wildly and it gives me a headache.

The game runs fine, but the shadow flicker makes this game unplayable.

Read the change log, but no, there aren't any killcams for vampire feeding.

The title is misleading. Did you mean to say that patch 1.5 is out for PC, or just out in general, as in for consoles too?

Started up Skyrim to see the changes 1.5 made and I've got this.... http://s1066.photobucket.com/albums/u406/Podunk95/?action=view¤t=ScreenShot79.jpgotice the breakage of screen. The screenshot doesn't do it justice. Running on standard high settings as always with a few mods...never encountered an issue before...
literally just updated through steam now and started Skyrim to find fragmentation on screen. Not on loading screens or the menu though. Any ideas?
I have a theory its mods that arent up to date with the patch?

It's only PC like always, Sony and Microsoft have to check every update first, so patches for consoles will be delayed for a few days.

Really nice, seems like a driver related problem, maybe 1.5 does not work properly with you VGA drivers? I can't imagine any mod would cause this kind of stuff.

This is one of the reasons I don't upgrade the patch until it's the last one. Saves me the hassle of having to deal with crap that's not fixed or gets worse.

Disable AA or roll back to previous driver (12.1) - It's a known issue with catalyst 12.2
